Pokemon Switch games on sale at Best Buy

Haven't played a pokemon game since Snap on the 64. I tried to keep up after they added 50 more to the original 100 but after that, life just got in the way. At these prices, I'm going to restart my pokemon journey with Let's Go Pikachu than the rest. Feels like I've missed out on a lot though :(. Thank you for the post OP.

Can you only use Joy Cons on Let's Go Pikachu? Was thinking about picking this up for my kid's first Pokémon but wasn't sure if it requires any tricky inputs that he may struggle with.
rec playing it strictly in handheld mode since iirc that avoids the default control scheme from docked mode or when you don't have the joycons attached.

Been wanting Sword and Shield. Just need to choose my version. May go for Pearl, but that looks just kind of average.
shield has ice and ghost gyms, sword has fighting and rock iirc. pokemon wise my little ponyta is in shield, farfetched and sirfetched by extension are in sword. I'm still waiting for them to add in access to the other games and transfer for it and arceus. It's incredibly dumb that they still haven't got that up and running when they charge for all these services.

hmm? the original pokemon count was 151 (counting mew). I'd rec eevee over pikachu since neutral typing and all with normal and pikachu would be pretty rough for a starter since outside misty which it's super effective for 3/4 of the other gyms resist or null electric type moves.

ymmv still says in stock for me for a change and disabled store pick up. When usually its the other way around for whatever reason.
Odd... still nothing for me. I guess I'll get them from GS but after the massive amounts of guts I've gotten during the last sale, not looking forward to giving them my money for new games.

I played Let's Go on my Switch Lite and had no trouble with it.

With Sword and Shield if you get the DLC some of the legendaries in Dynamax Adventures are version exclusive, like with the Ultra Wormholes in USUM, the year of Legendaries in 2018, etc.

I also recommend Let's Go Eevee, especially since (like in the original Yellow) you can get all three starters and make your Eeveelution the other side of the Rock/Paper/Scissors triangle from your starter.

Just wish I could use a pro controller
That's why I put it down. I loved using the Pokeball controller, but playing with a single joycon was constraining. I really can't get into any of the mainline Pokemon games anymore.

Then Snap came out and all those cute Pokemon running around really clicked with me. Then I played Arceus. It's like Snap but with catching instead of picture taking. You can go exploring anywhere you want, similar to zelda: breath of the wild, and completing the Pokedex is SO addicting. I'm 80 hours into it and still haven't finished the main story because I'm having too much fun just doing pokedex tasks.

They hit it out of the park with Arceus, but I don't know if I can recommend it to really young kids because the Pokemon want to murder you!, all day long.

151 was the original number. Anyway I wouldn't recommend the "Let's Go" games unless you really really like iffy motion controls as thats what you do against wild pokemon instead of actual battles. Pokemon Sword/Shield or Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl is what you should get if you like to actually battle and not deal about motion controls.

When you return something at BB they refund your reward certificate right?
Yes, you'll get "you've got a reward cert" email just like you do when you earn one but it'll have a new expiration date than the one you used up.

That Lets Go price triggered the scalpers. One guy bought every copy of Pika from my store.
I hope you stuck those spider-wrap security things on each one, extract tight, so it damaged the case/shrinkwrap.

And then took them off and covered up the damage with the red in-store pick up stickers so that person wasn't aware of the damage.

And then they get them all home, take of the sticker and damage the shrinkwrap further.
