That’s SOP for Amazon.
You got lucky, I tried that and they still said no but this was when it dropped from 39.99 to 29.99. Ended up mailing one back for the refund. Then it dropped to $27.99 and they wouldn't do it again so sent the 2nd one back....

That sucks. I had a price adjustment no issue when I had an item drop by $8. They just gave it to me as a courtesy credit and off we went.
