DDR Ultramix 2 (2004) for Xbox

Another installment of the popular Dance Dance Revolution franchise - DDR Ultramix 2 is a sequel to 2003's Ultramix, also an Xbox exclusive. This game would be much more fun if it weren't for the Xbox controller. DDR was made to play on the PlayStation controller and no other controller. Xbox's controller makes the game hard to function and seem like a chore. You could use the Xbox dance pad, but home pads aren't as reliable as the arcade pads. The song selection is pretty much crap in DDR Ultramix 2, but what it lacks of it makes up for with exclusive songs that kick ass ("Jam On It" by Newcleus, "I'm In Heaven" by Jason Nevins, "Disco Break" by Art of Hot, "Fly Through the Night" by Mr. T, etc.). The song selection doesn't feel like DDR - it seems like they just mustered the latest, crappiest music together and made a game (after all, Konami of Hawaii developed this game - not the Konami of Japan we've all grown to love). You can buy packs of songs online to play on DDR Ultramix 2, but who want to do that?? Stick to the PlayStation versions and Arcade versions if you wanna experience true DDR greatness.

DDR Ultramix 2 (Xbox) gets a 6 out of 10 - Devin

It was made to play with a pad, not a controller. :whistle2:?

Yeah, it's unlikely you'd be giving the game a 6/10 if you'd played with a pad like you're supposed to.

i thought ultramix 2 was pretty damn good. they have some pretty nice songs in the game also, plz go out and get a dance pad to play this game. this game was worth my 20 bucks that i got from walmart.com and i would pay for 40 bucks for this game as well. 8.5 out of 10 in my book

I'm with bob. Why even bother playing this game without pads?

When I saw this Ultramix 2 thread with a thumbs down icon, I was shocked. I thought this was a fantastic installment. There are a couple of songs I don't like, but that goes for any DDR. I do agree that having to pay for the song packs feels like a ripoff, but take into consideration that it already comes with tons more songs than Max 2 straight out of the box. I haven't even downloaded any of the packs yet, and I can play Random for an hour and only have certain songs come up one time. If you get all of the packs, that's 115 songs. That's a ludicrous variety to choose from. Crap, indeed. :p

HAHAHAHAHA

Playing DDR with a controller

DDR was made to play on the PlayStation controller and no other controller. Xbox's controller makes the game hard to function and seem like a chore.

Edit:
DDR was made to play on a dance pad controller and no other controller. Playing it on a controller makes the game...seem like a chore...

LOL
No wonder you don't like it.

DDR without dance pad = pointless

I give this review a 10 out of 10 because the reviewer is obviously mentally challenged, so the mere fact that he was able to use whole sentences is something to be celebrated.
