I just sold my old PS2 to get a new Slim PS2. I don't go out much so I wouldn't know if there are any sales or deals for the PS2.
I'm a cheapassgamer as well, so I want to save a few bucks and ofcourse if the PS2 comes in a bundle, it would be great. I won't spend more than $150 on the PS2 itself. If it's cheaper, yes. If it comes bundled with a game at $150 or lower, I'll buy it. I don't buy used PS2's btw.
You might want to check out some of the online retailers that have % off coupon. I know Target has a 10% off one, but their shipping is pricey and they charge tax. Recently CircuitCity.com had a 10% off coupon, and they have free shipping so I got it there, but I think that coupon expired. But I think Overstock.com has a better deal since they don't charge tax for most states. (I have a Sony card, so I had to buy from an "Authorized Sony Retailer" to get rewards stuff, which Overstock isn't.) Overstock has cheap shipping, so that shouldn't be a problem.
I think Best Buy & Circuit City have freebies w/the consoles next week, but nothing spectacular. You might want to wait for a Fry's bundle... they eventually will have one. I hope that helps.
I ordered it. I don't care if I wait like 2-3 weeks for the PS2. Although I really want to play Phantom Brave (I should get it tomorrow from the mail) but I'll have to wait. As long a I get the PS2 for a great price I'll be happy. After all, I am a cheapassgamer.
