I went to FYE and grabbed the flyer for Simpsons seasons 1, 2 and 3 at 14.99 and went to Best Buy to do a price match. The guy had to call and said NO. They claimed it was well below their cost and they couldn't do it. I'm pissed.

I still bought them at FYE for 14.99 each but I don't think Best Buy can pull that crap on a CAG member!

god why are there so many people trying to make even more out of this great deal?? what were you trying to do? get it even cheaper?

Would any CAG not want to get something cheaper?

Scott, did you try and get the manager?

It's a simple concept. Store offers price match and I get my reward points. I wasn't looking for a freebee, just a match in the price and my 4400 points (plus I had a $5 reward point coupon).

Pretty simple. Don't read into it that I'm looking into getting something for nothing.

I know one of the managers but he wasn't working. He knows me by name along with 3 of my friends that go in there. I have to go back and talk to him first before I send off a letter.

If I wanted it free, I could have asked for the 10% difference which was like 10% of $80 (another 8 bucks off) since BB had them for about 120 combined.

aight kool..

i aint mean it in a bad way or nuthin..just its funny how people triiping out jsut cuz they did not get their $5 rebates

i've gone to best buy and they don't like giving you a price match and a $5 dollar gamer coupon because it is two "deals". the point of the price match is to not lose money when another store has something cheaper. plus with the rewards card you get points. i share my card with my dad and we rack up points pretty damn fast.

another complaint i've had with BB is that we went last night and they refused to give us 10% off our purchase cuz we had a coupon. they said that "10% off regularly priced music, movies, something else and video games and software regularly priced 19.99 and up" meant everything $19.99 and up. but since when in hell have cd's been 19.99 and up at BB it makes since for movies and kinda on whatever the other thing was but not on music. it really is for the videogames and software. we're going back again today to buy the pillar cd with free 17 song sampler.

Best Buy is great sometimes and other times they suck.
Great-I took the Comp-USA ad there when SC-Pandora Tomorrow was 29.99, they guy that checked me out was awesome. he was like "sweet, okay let's do this" he price matched it and when i pulled out that coupon, no problem did he knock my game all the way down to 24.99, half off.

now if more cashers could treat us like coustomers and not criminals, stealling money from them, just cuz we want to price match.

I thought this was always VERY YMMV. Some employees will see it as combining two offers, others won't.

I don't quite understand the complaint here. The coupon clearly states that it's for 10% off anything $19.99 and up. Are you saying BB should have more expensive music, or are you saying that because the coupon mentions music you should be able to use it on any CDs? If it's the former, that's ridiculous and if it's the latter, remember that there are box sets and what-have-you that cost more than $20.

And honestly, I've touched on this in another post but come on. You complain about the store and in the same paragraph mention about how you're going back to spend more money. I don't get it.

Work retail long enough and you'll see how people can get that way. For every cashier you run into that's suspicious of your discounts, there are at least ten people who have gotten over on the company (or at least tried), intentionally or otherwise.
You got it for $15, so get over it...
Exactly. Best Buy can say no to the price match and there's nothing you can do about it. If I'm not mistaken, the price match policy usually includes something along the lines of "Some Exclusions May Apply."

Be happy with what you've got.
