LITITZ, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A 14-year-old girl was missing after her parents were shot to death in their home Sunday morning, and authorities were searching for her 18-year-old boyfriend, who reportedly abducted her at gunpoint.

Sunday morning, neighbors woke to the sound of an ambulance and a phone call from Lancaster County emergency management officials warning them to stay inside.

Michael and Cathryn Borden, both 50, were found shot to death shortly after 8 a.m., Lititz Police Chief William Seace said.

The couple's 9-year-old son, David, the youngest of five children, had fled to the home of neighbors, who called 911, Seace said. An older daughter still living at home and two adult sons were also safe, he said.

But Kara Beth Borden, 14, was missing. Police said she was last seen that morning at the family's home in Warwick Township, about 60 miles west of Philadelphia, and was reportedly abducted at gunpoint by David G. Ludwig.

"The young girl was out during the night, came home, and her parents confronted her. From what we understand, he came to the house," Seace said.

"We don't know whether she has been abducted or is willingly a part of this," Seace said, but he added that until they can determine otherwise, police are operating on the assumption that Kara had been kidnapped.

She's 14.. with an 18 year old boyfriend?

Still, that really sucks. I wanna see that sucker fry once they catch him.

If Law & Order has taught me anything, it's that this girl is an evil mastermind who manipulated her boyfriend into killing her family.

Jesus, it's supposed to be the dad who has the shotgun and shows it to the boyfriend the first day he takes her out.

It would amke a good Law & Order story, though.

You know I'm assuming your being sarcastic, but you never know, you never really can know. I mean is there really any way to confirm if she was in on the whole thing or not?

They don't have the tagline "ripped from the headlines" for nothing.

I'm only partly being sarcastic. I don't put something like that past a kid these days.

Yep, very true. I mean the fact that her siblings were all left unharmed indicates that he wasn't in any kind of killing frenzy so perhaps the parents found out about the secret relationship and this was her way to get away? Its more likely the parents were keeping him away and he murdered them for that reason.

maybe the parents were abusive. I don't see any other reason for throwing your life away with a double murder to get some 14 year old snatch.

I don't know where the hell you grew up, but, you know, 20 year old girls are just a little bit different than 14 year old ones. You know, little things like a maturity, decision-making skills, that sort of thing. But then, your only contact with women is through a phone line and blow-up dolls, so I never expect much from you anyway.

Would you let a 12 year old girl date a 16 year old boy? No.

i wonder if he knew she was only 14... not that that would change anything, but this whole thing is really interesting, i'm just curious.

I wonder where cnn got that picture of the girl? They've never even showed that picture here on the local affiliate (WGAL) which is where I'd assume CNN is getting their information from. WGAL has only shown the second picture. She looks like she's 9 years old in that first one.

QFT. Jesus Christ.

Stephanie Mannon, 16, said Ludwig and Kara Borden had been seeing each other secretly.
“Their parents didn’t approve of them being together” because of the age difference, she said. “It wasn’t because he was a shady character, because he wasn’t.

Shady enough to kill the parents. Wow, give this girl an A+ in character assessment.
There's no way this chick is only 14.... is there? This is further proof as to why my daughter is not allowed out of the house until she is 40.
I direct you to google a name:

Saaya Irie

I was on the highway back to school when the alert was issue. I spent the rest of the ride looking for that red Jetta.

One of my ex's was dating a 30 year old guy when she was 17. I definitely didn't really care for that. She was shocked when she told me he really didn't value her opinion, etc  And now she's engaged to a guy shes known for like a month. Moral of the story? I told you that bitch be crazy.

If I were the boy's parents I'd be scared as fuck. I mean, they named him LUDWIG! He already killed 2 people, I doubt he'd mind 2 more.

And as enlightened american males, thats exactly the barberous backward thinking we need to over come. 100 years ago 45 year old men were encouraged to take 15 year old brides. I think this is something we really need to strive to get back to. Good old family values.
