Tales of Symphonia

CAGiversary!
I was just looking at trailers for this game at gametrailers.com and it looks pretty good. I had never heard anything about it, so I wanted to see what others thought about it. I saw there were like 4 people in battle, and it's real time, so do you get to control whoever you want? can you switch? can you have another person be one of the other ones?

Discuss away!

im going to b getting it when it comes out. i dont know if u can switch between chars but ur friends can control the others. thats a huge plus for me.

I've been waiting for an RPG like this for quite a while. As EggViper said it's 4-Players when in battle. And it seems like if focuses on gameplay more than graphics, even though the graphics are nice. I'd say Buy it!!!
If you like this one, It seems like you should try Star ocean The second story for psone. They look very similar.
Also, Star Ocean 3 is coming out for PS2 in August.

game informer #135 page 117 says 1-4 player role playing game

awesome ¡! me and my wife love playing RPG's together but there are so few that allow this. The most notable ones I can think of were FF6 and FF9. If anyone can think of any other multiplayer rpg's I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I was wishy washy about buying it cause of lack of time but this just about clinches it. Oh Disgaea, La Pucelle, Front Mission 4, Arc The Lad, Suikoden III, Halo, Harvest Moon AWL and countless others when wll I finish thee ¿?

secret of mana duhh haha forgot about that gem was only able to play 2 players at the time as me and my friends could not afford a multi tap = P

didn't know about that tales game thanks a lot

The Tales series is probably the most quality RPG series out there (yes, more than the overrated FFs), so you would do well to pick a copy of Symphonia up.

If you have 2 PCs at home pick up some of the Dungeons and Dragons games. Many of them allow up to six player multiplayer. My personal favortie is Baldur's Gate 2, but BG 1, Icewind Dale 1&2, and Neverwinter Nights (with the two expansion packs) are all really good.

Tales of Destiny, Tales of Eternia (released in the US as Tales of Destiny 2), and Tales of Symphonia are 2 play RPGs, the latter two being 4 player RPGs.
