Worst Price Match Policy.

CAGiversary!
IMO it withiout a doubt has to be Tartget because they have none in the first place. In a close second is CC... they won't price match if the game is not in stock at the other place. I tried to have them price match the $5 BB clearance sale and though they had the games, they would not price match because the other store had recently run out of the games. Stupid They said the price was $5 there, but oh well.

I can't imagine why they would have priced match BB, regardless of stock. Most policies only price match to advertised items. Often this only applies to stores that are considered direct competitors. I've had TRU try to weasel out of price matching Fry's on the rationale that Fry's is a warehouse store. Lumping in Fry's, which is open to the public with no membership requirement, with CostCo or Sam's Club is just nonsense.

I was price matching at TRU not because Fry's was out of stock but because my purchases at TRU get a 4% kickback on my TRU Visa card. So of course I'm going to try to make my purchases through TRU if its an advertised item that can be matched.

STOP WHINING! STOP IT!

anyway enough Arnie... I went to CC awhile back and got 3 games from the BB $5 clearance price matched. It's a serious case of YMMV and luck.

I personally have had no luck with CC, BB, Walmart.... you name it. Most price match policies deal with advertised prices. A lot of stores such as Walmart make exception to this and match any price if in stock some place else. If they had it at your BB, just go and pick it up there if CC won't match.

does anyone know if fye price matches? I am going 2 be gettign a lot of store credit there and would like to not get ripped off!!

my FYE has a price match policy, only one of three ive been to that does tho.

but their price match policy is not cheapass friendly, you need to buy the game at full price, then they need to return it, and re reing and give you back the difference.

BB is truely the worst. I remember back when CC had XIII for 10 and they wouldn't pricematch (I had the ad) because they didn't have it in stock. Pissed me off so bad....I just bought it here
Eb, they will never price match anything. Not their web site, not ads, not even stores in the same damn mall.
The EB store I go to price matches, but you got to bring in proof of the price(Ad or a printed page off the web(it says the day when you printed it on, so there's proof of the day of the price)). If it's a ad, they just call the store to confirm the price and it doesn't care if they have it in stock or not. Of course I found out a few weeks ago, that they're not supposed to price match anymore, but the store still does.

The CC's that ive been to said they dont price match period and BB's that i hit dont bother to call to check on the stock of the advertised item.

I don't think anyone can top this one:

I went to FYE last week. They had two copies of Klonoa: Empire of Dreams for GBA. One was marked $14.99 and the other was marked $16.99. I wanted to buy both for the lower price. I clearly and simply explained my request to the clerk, immediately confusing her. She called the manager and I explained the situation to him. He acknowledged that his store was labeling the same game with two different prices, but wouldn't give me the lower price on the higher-priced game because they were purchased from different distributors. His logic was that he had paid two extra dollars for the higher-priced game, and he didn't want to eat those two dollars. This makes sense, but is trumped by the fact that he was selling TWO COPIES OF THE SAME ITEM at TWO DIFFERENT PRICES. Unreal. I bought the lower-priced copy and put the higher-priced one back on the shelf on principle.

The upshot: FYE wouldn't pricematch their own branch of their own store.

The EBs I've gone to have always been good about price matching, especially when returning something to get it for a cheaper price elsewhere. One of EBs I went to was willing to price match the website too (most of which are same prices anyways)... They don't take the additional 10% off the difference like BB or CC does though.

BB's actually policy, that i've read, is "if a competitor has a similar item in stock." the BB near me always calls before it price matches.

I finally found out why some get jipped from the extra 10% on price matching. You have to have previously purchased it and a competitor has a better price later down the road. Otherwise, if you price match it that day, they will only match not beat.

Your Circuit Cities all suck, mine not only price matches but even takes the GGC coupon.

I've never tried the pricematch/GGC double dip though (at CC or Best Buy).

Whoa, they won't pricematch at all?! Even weekly ads? Because that's basically in violation of their corporate policy. That's definitely worth calling their corporate HQ about.

The CC I go to is generally good about pricematching, though yesterday I had an employee claiming that she couldn't pricematch because the difference in the prices was too great ($30 DVD set for $7.50). One quick conversation with the manager later and I was walking out the door with my DVD.
