What is the longest you've ever played a game without turning it off?
Mine well I just got done playing Star Wars KOTR for about 10 hours on my day off, I didn't want to stop but I had been fighting the sleep demon for about 2 hours and was about to pass out in the chair!

I think I did 8 hours on Asheron's Call once. I can't exactly remember. I started hunting fragments for my Shadow Armor one night, and decided to try and find all the pieces I needed before I went to sleep. I went to bed after 7AM.

I know that I played Age of Empires on the Zone for at least 15 hours straight before...I can't say for sure, but I'm almost certain there was a 24 hour straight period at LEAST one time...

Zelda:Majoras Mask, got the game the day it came out (I was hyped since OOT owned), skipped school and played from 11 am until about 12 pm with small breaks for food.

7 hours on city of heros recently..... other than that.... iv gone 48 of no sleep non stop gaming with friends! lol only a pause break for pizza 4 times lol

The original Tomb Raider I had on for like 14 hours straight, but that was mostly because I fell asleep with the controller in my hand.

8 hours straight on Xbox Live playing Rainbow Six 3 Team Survival. I did this about 2 weeks ago.

16 hours on Chrono Trigger when i bought it used summer of 97 (for $10 nontheless :)). The third day I got it i just couldn't stop playing. The second was Mario RPG the day after it came out for 12 hours. Soooo worth it....

GBA Harvest Moon FoMT 10 hours

PC Star Wars Galaxies probly like 36 hours with a couple of food and bathroom breaks

the last time I did it was MGS:TTS. I started at 9:30 and did not finish until probably 1 or 2 that night. Aside from that off and on, for a while I was running through several 10 hour stretches of Raven Shield (PISTOLS ONLY IS THE ONLY WAY TO PLAY!!!!!)

This shouldn't be on the Xbox forum but a few years ago, I started playing this pc strategy game called Alpha Centuri. I started at 8pm at night and what seemed to be a blink of an eye, it suddenly became 4 am.

I've avoided playing real time strategy games since then....

When I got Burnout 2 me and a friend played it for about 18 - 20 hours straight.

I played through the original Harvest Moon in one sitting.

There are some others that I can't really remember right now...

This award goes to the king of all timesinks: EverQuest.

I put an unhealthy 15 hours (3PM-6AM) into this game, every day with minimal breaks, for at least the entire summer after my senior year of high school.

My playtime slowly decreased over the next year and a half, finally kicking the EQ habit earlier this year (February), after 3 years and over 200 real-time days played. I haven't looked back since.

I've played Halo for 15 hours straight with friends. Anything more than that, and it gets kinda excessive. Hmmm...Goldeneye marathons back in the day were pretty near 12 hours on a regular basis, if I recall.

I logged over 15hrs on SW:KOTOR on a lazy day. I just couldn't put it down...once I completed on mini mission another started so I just kept going...
And this is like the fourth time this topic has been posted.
Recurrent threads seem to make constant appearances and usually the recent authors will claim that they did a search and didn't come up with anything. Similarly, people who refer to past threads they've read will often mention that they can't find those threads using the search engine on this site.

Why is that? I think the CAG-o-matic is an excellent piece of coding (for a site that has no cover charge, especially) and its presence would lend one to expect an above-average search engine within the site, as well...but...no. Incongruity, thy name is....um.....er......hmm. #-o

Have you tried the search feature? It returns a lot of strange results, and sifting through them all is a major chore. Maybe the interface is just not as intuitive as it could be, but I find it tough to use to locate a specific thread even when I know the EXACT wording of the subject line.

..yyyyyeah. I wasn't suggesting that the fault lay with users, but rather with the search engine itself. I was wondering why CAG's search engine is so poor when they can put up a search engine that searches *other* sites so well (CAG-o-matic.)

For my birthday one year my grandmother got me Defender for the Atari 2600. I think I started playing that about 8 pm, and didn't quit till about 0600 the next morning.
In college I did multiple all-nighters [6 pm till 0830 am, one break to get pizza from the delivery guy] on an online mud named Vincent's Hollow. About 830 I'd leave the computer lab thinking Ok, time for bed. Once I actually went to bed, slept for 1/2 hour, then went to class.....Slept through it. After that point, I just said Screw it, I'm not going to class. Or I tried to pull the all nighter on weekends or Thursday night [on Fridays for two quarters my first class was at 1 pm.]

I know I've also done a few all nighters with Heroes of Might and Magic 2/3 on the PC, or Final Fantasy Tactics on PS1.

Legend of legaia, I started around 7 pm , here i am deep in the game, the revelation about who all these people effected by the mist was being revealed , so i'm sitting there thinking damn this is getting good when I notice something peeking through my shades, wondering what the hell is that I open them to find out it was the sun, it was 6:30 or so in the morning. I wasn't even tired.

a 16 hour run on knights of the old republic...... i have to say its one of the most addicting games ive ever played.who says you cant lose weight from playing video games? with 16 hour stretches and a proper diet....... i got nothin

OK, I had 2. One, most time in a row, 22 hours on Ravenshield for PC, Online.

Most time in a weekend. 35 Hours on Metal Gear Solid (Beat it twice in 3 days)

Played Morrowind for 26 hours, and somehow managed to play a deathmatch with the same 4 people in Goldneye for 17 hours.

I've herad of individuals playing marathon challenges and keeling over. Some guy played for days in south Korea in an internet Cafe and died in his seat.

I played Counter-Strike (and still) from like morning 9am to like 10 pm a lot. I do that like twice a week, or else I just play for an hour or so at a time. Thats like 13 hours.

For a console game, I'd say Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. Playing it from the night I got it, until lunch time the next day, like 8pm to 12pm (which past am time). Total game time (first time - normal difficulty) was 8hrs and 42 minutes. Thats 16 hours. Also I was playing the VR games, and that took few hours away. Then after, I just popped in Halo, and called a neighbor over to play co-op and multiplayer with me. :)

Over a full day on an old online game called Acrophobia, taking breaks only for food and bathroom. Damn thing was addictive.
