With all the CC stories, i wouldn't be posting this, if not the worst sign of greed I have every seen.

Yesterday I met Tenacious D (CAG member), at the local CC here in Gainesville, and he was pretty cool. He shared his list with me and we helped one another find games. Soon we were joined by several other people that knew about the sale. And before I knew it, I had spent 30 mins looking through games with him, because my girlfriend game in after me  So I sorta left a mess and forgot to help this kid out that was wanting dark cloud :(.

So anyways I picked up 7 games, and earlier I had talked to Tenacious about how this somewhat retirement city nearby usually has some good things at their CC. Last time i was there they had plenty of disgaeas too. And when I arrived today I saw a fat woman pushing out a shopping cart full of games! The CC here had 5 bins of games that they had sat out, I manage to get most of the things I wanted, even Advance Wars 2 was in the bin, it rang out 19.99 but the girl gave it to me. Anyways the girl said that, the lady had not only had one shopping cart, but had came back in 2 times before that and had 3 shopping carts full of games :(. She said the only thing the manager said, was that if he caught her selling those games on ebay he would ban her from the store. Like he is really going to do that. That fat@ss was already gone before I heard the whole story. I guess she'll have a nice vacation sitting around while she makes money on her auctions. oh well,... on a side note, the only other people looking in the bins were mommys on their phone. So if someone in the ocala gainesville area sent their mom to pick up some games and didnt get any, you know why.

Man seriously they should have a limit to the number of games you can get during these clearance sales, like no more than 2 copies of each game....1 for yourself and 1 to trade.

man that really cooks my goose!

Warning: I made a similar post yesterday, and while most CAGs understood my point, there were a few hotrods that saw fit to pick apart my OP and tried (some would say succeeded) to make ME look like the asshole.

It will be interesting to see if they hit you with things like "stop whining" and "you're not entitled to anything" and "you shoulda been there earlier" and "YOU'RE the jerk because you called someone else a jerk."

I'll tell ya, this sale has really brought a bunch of new assholes to this site; I liked it better when there were just the old assholes. ;)

Anyhoo, most if us have scored some cool shit on this deal; I can only imagine how many more considerate gamers could have scored were it not for the greedys!!

Three?! Sheesh. I can understand people being touchy about seeing someone hoard a lot on their first one, but that's ridiculous.
stop whining
you're not entitled to anything
you shoulda been there earlier
YOU'RE the jerk because you called someone else a jerk
Allright!! An old jerk to the rescue!!! :D :D :D

I was at CC in Costa Mesa on sunday. I went there to look for ZOE: Fist of Mars. When i arrived I saw this kid just going through all the games and stacked about 100 games onto the counter. Apparently he was randomly looking for all the old games and making the cashier check if it was 5 bucks or not. I looked through the sections and found none of the games on the list. :(

Just goes to show you; fat people suck. The second CC I went to started to limit people to one per title, thankfully, otherwise I wouldn't have scored RE code veronica X and...I can't remember what else. Like you said though, we stil got some good deals, and hey, we may have a second shot this weekend.

the whole selling on ebay thing....i dont think you're aloud to go into a store with the intent of selling on ebay...thats why the manager said that or whatever...and when i was in a couple of CCs today...i picked up probably 10 games at each one (mostly for trades)...and at everyone, it seemed like the cashier was trying to get out of me that i was buying them just to sell them...they all had this beat around the bush approach like, "man, what are you gonna do with all of these games, hehe, if i were you, i'd sell them on ebay or at a flea market"....every last one of them had a similar line...it just seemed like they were trying to get me to say i was selling them just so they could keep me from getting the games (im assuming they wanted them for themselves, because i found many that they didnt know were 4.99....boohoo)...it kinda pissed me off, but oh well...cant nobody hold me down...

One can only hope that someday someone keeps feeding her and feeding her and then kicks her in the stomach so it explodes like a pinata.

I bought 23 games today, not a single dupe, not a single game that I'm just gonna throw on Ebay. I could have eaisly picked the store dry, because there was still quite a few games left. Instead I was a kinder, gentler, cheapass and left what I didn't want to the masses.

I guess it comes down to morals etc, as there are some people who would think that it was their lucky day. And just wouldn't have really thought about the next guy. And then there is first come first serve. Its sorta like who do you respect more, someone smart enough to see a chance to make a big profit? Or someone who had that opportunity, but decided to share.

Like a shopping cart or 40 games, etc. It happens, I just wasn't expecting to see a person get 3 carts full many games.

You know it makes me wonder just how much thisperson spent and if they can possibly make all that money back trying to ebay things, and even if she could how long would it take to do?

Lets say you can fit 115 games in a shopping cart, times 3 it's 345 games... 345x6 ($5 plus tax estimated) is over 2000 dollars, then add the aution fees over at Ebay and this sounds like a horrible horrible idea. You could be looking at a ridiculous total with little

Most of them have to be Sports titles maybe a few sought after games like Disgaea, most of them are not top tier AA titles, if you over price something like 10 copies of Vexx you arnt going to get anything back. And it's obvious this woman is geedy so she's instantly going to try and bloat the prices to get her money back as fast as possible.

If you ask me she blew a lot of money and she's not getting it all back.

people seriously suck.... personally I wouldn't buy more than 2 of one title, one to play and one to keep sealed, people always want to make a quick buck.

I say she's playing them all. You know the ability to play a game per every hundred pounds rule. The fatter the ho, the more powerful the ability. Whoa, what the hell am I smoking? I'll shut up now. :)

If people couldn't make money, they wouldn't do it. You got to realize they'll probbaly make at least double on what they spent. And for some games quadruple or quintuple. That will balance out the few games where they break even.

I can't say I've run into anyone like this on my many treks to the chicagoland circuit cities. I've meet a lot of very nice people who are willing to let you take a look at there lists if you don't have one. I personally have picked up 30 games for myself and two for a friend. Not one dup either. People come out of the wood work for sales just think of all of us who are going to get games. Sometimes you get lucky. I haven't got a few games I really wanted but on Sunday I be there early to try to get more. See you there :D

But what this person did is not cool and I hope she burns for it.

I hope people that are hoarding games like this have more old ESPN/Sega, EA and Midway sports titles than anything else.

I was in a CC tonight and I was completely blown away at the 150-200+ sports titles they had. I don't care what price they put on them, no one is going to buy 2 year old football and basketball games.

I only got 8 games out of this deal and few of them I'd view as exceptional. I was happy I got Onimusha 2, RE:CVX tonight, SF EX3 and Disaster Report (Alayas been curious about this game.). The other stuff I got was pure unadulterated crap but since it was NEW crap as opposed to USED crap I picked up Giants Citizen Kabuto, MDK 2, Oni and Dr. Muto.

Unfortunately most of the decent titles on the $4.99 list I already had. The rest I kinda wanted? I can live without them, they'll be $9.99 somewhere soon.

I don't understand how enthusiast titles like Disgaea, Rez, Viewtiful Joe and some others made the list. Not only that I can't believe every gamer that wanted them doesn't have them. I mean, they've been out almost a year in the case of VJ and Disgaea and Rez has been a known rare game for over a year. When CC and TRU had them for $29.99 you should have snapped them up.

Some people on this board are too damn cheap for their own good.

I get my sports games after a couple of years. If you are alwys begind in getting them, its like you are on time. you know?

I stopped by the Ocala CC on my way from Gainesville to Tampa on Monday around 4pm, but i didnt see any of the better games there. I got MGS2 Substance and GunValkyre. What time did you see this women with the three carts there?

I'm saying this as a good thing, not bad:

I think it speaks volumes about the forgiveness and kindness of the CAG community that when I started a similar topic yesterday, it quickly degenerated into a flame war, and yet today we are all discussing this issue like mature adults.

I think a few bad apples (on these boards, and out in real life) will try to spoil our whole batch sometimes, but it's cool that we can all just chill out after a hectic couple of days and be friends again.

Long live CAG!!!

I dunno. Ebay prices usually go pretty low, and for unpopular games even $10 might be too much to expect. Then you look at your listing fees, your paypal fees, your time....I did buy more than one of a few titles but they were for friends or trading.....I don't really think there's much to be made on ebay, except for maybe a few titles....

somebody should send her that deal for a free pepsi edge coupon lol.
I think it would have been funny to see her get mugged on the way to her car lol. That would be karma hehe.

My friend and I were throwing around the idea of heading down to Gainesville to see if we could find anything there, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Good thing we didn't bother.

Gainesville is not a good place for CAG deals really, there are several CAG'rs here including MWL. There is an EB/GS in the mall, a tru near it. We used to have 3 Rhino game stores, now only one. BB/Target usually have nothing either. CC would have been good if you could have made it here around noon yesterday. I get most of my deals from Ocala, actually the last 6 times ive been to Ocala was just to get games.

sman113, It was around that time as well, I saw MGS in there but I already had it so i left it. There were 2 white boxes up front, then 3 combined bins around the demo consoles. About a half of the games I picked up were still on the shelves in the plastic boxes. There were about 200 Games 4.99 still left, but most of them were garbage titles. The only ones that still had some good things were the xbox and gba stuff.

i didnt see the white boxes, but the platic bins you speak of is what i went through as well. I didnt see anything on the shelves either. Then again, all i was looking for was Ikaruga and Secret Weapons Over Normandy.

The thing that sucks about game hogs is that they may have gotten the info here from other CAGers who were kind enough to share, then use that info to screw everyone by taking all the games. I am not against grabbing a couple of extras for sellig or trading, but if you go in with the sole purpose of clearing out all of one title or something, then that's just wrong. People like that ruin it for everyone.

I was in Clearwater for the weekend so I didn't read about the CC sale until I got back to Gainesville on Monday night. I briefly considered going to CC after work but then I realized that there was pretty much a 99.99% chance that some douche bag had cleaned out all the games. Looks like I was right. I missed the Bestbuy sale too except for Wolverine's Revenge (barely worth $5.00). You can call me a whiner all you want but I think people who buy a bunch of games to sell on ebay are pretty pathetic. I know I have better things to do with my time than dick around with shipping 500 games to people. When I want some money I go to this place called "work". I know I make more money there than I would buying games on sale and ebaying them. Plus, when I get home I like to actually PLAY some games once in a while, not spend all my free time going to the post office and answering a million questions from ebay buyers. People like that just irritate the hell out of me.

well, middlemen/scalpers dont always make money. I bet if she bought a shitload of sports titles and will have to take a lot of those games back when they dont sell on ebay.

she will break even and make a little but not much.
If she knew what she was doing, then she would leave the crap and just take what she knew she could resell.
Some people on this board are too damn cheap for their own good.
I'll take that as a compliment. So thank you.

I didn't get any of the big titles - Viewtiful Joe I bought at launch, REZ I had imported for Dreamcast (although it was stolen), and Disgaea I got the day before the CC deal started for $20 at a Gamestop (and I thought that was the deal of a lifetime for Disgaea).

Haha. Man am I glad I didn't try to go down to Ocala!

Theenternal, I thought the kid and his Mom on Monday in Gainesville were even being kinda greedy. They came back for more after you left and I hooked the kid up with the Dark Cloud I had in my hands, but I had to think about it for a second. Shows you what I woulda thought of the fat lady with 3 carts in Ocala!

I went back today on my lunch break and there's still some 4.99 titles at the CC in Gainesville. I posted what I got in this other thread: http://cheapassgamer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21895

I havent read this whole post and I wont but take teh above example times it by the amount of people in differant cities that did this and a shit load of titles will be hitting ebay soon and it will cause the prices to deflate big time... Which menas i still may get 1 copy of Viewtiful Joe for a decent price.... Damn I should have never sold it...

Hmm, fat woman cleaning out a store of multiple cheap items on sale?
Its definately an ebay stay at home mom, i.e. a "power seller".

Those women sicken me. Its not just video games, but they buy up all other kinds of toys and then flood the ebay market with them. My husband used to work at toysrus and he used to tell me about them all the time. Often they would bring the same items back a week or two later if they couldn't sell them...no way were they going to pay for an item to be relisted if it wasn't going to sell quick. There were a couple of women who came into the store whom the manager refused to sell multiple items of anything anymore because of it.

The only consolation is that they hardly make back any money. They just see a toy on sale, and buy it, make up and inflated price, and list it hoping it sells. Most of the time they just buy crap that no one wanted to buy at the toy store in the first place. Really, for all the serious gamers on this board, how many of those $5 titles that you saw did you really want to buy because you knew they were crap and really weren't worth $5? Quite a few, I'll bet.

I'm not even going to worry about people like her. All that greed for what? She'll be lucky if she breaks even, and even that will be only if she got a few of the rarer titles in her selection. Plus with all the games that are going to flood the ebay market in a week, she will have the frustration of watching all that stuff just sit on the market and not sell at all.

It's funny. I told a coworker about the CC deal today. BEcause I knew he was a gamer. I mentioned how most of the gamers were probably sold out by now because of the hoarders. SO he goes, "Well, of course. I would have bought a hundred games and sold them on Ebay."

Now I wish I hadn't told him.

What the fuck fat or skinny how does that have to do with it are you mad because you didn't not get it or what you know half the people are selling these games on ebay anyway maybe she was buying for school kids and is going to give them as gift's
. . .maybe she was buying for school kids and is going to give them as gift's
For some reason I agree with that. I think charity is the cause for her purchases. She saw the opportunity to spread joy and happiness to other people and took that opportunity. Instead of hating her you all should be thinking of all the children those games will go to and the smiles on their faces. See, you can see them now : :D

I think VJ is a special case. It wasn't a great seller but did well enough to merit both a sequel and a PS2 port which will probably match the GameCube version's sales in less than a couple months. Capcom's commitment of exclusives for Nintendo has not worked out well and they're already going multi-platform for some of the other promised GC exclusives.

Even so, VJ remains a high profile title for the GC so I suspect it's going to reappear soon as a Player's Choice title at $19.99 and lower in promotions. Any GC owner who really wants it will have little excuse then.

Just wow. I have to say I'm suprised and disgusted at the fat-bashing going on in this thread. Replace "fat" with "black" or "hispanic" or "white" or "catholic" or "muslim" or anything else like that and see how despicable this last "acceptable" hatred really is. I'm sad that so many people are so full of hate on this site.

What Ia'm saying is you only care because you don't have that much money to buy the games what about all the people buying games to sell or trade on this site alone

I'm not full of hate just pure unadulterated rage at the greedy ass bitches that bought multiple copies of games to sell. How many people here would be compelled to do that versus buying ones for yourself and maybe friends? Death to the Hoarders!!!!!!
