Maddox Book - The Alphabet of Manliness

I view him as kind of a sellout for making the book.

Because, of course, by making the book it really killed the updating of his site.

So it essentially became, "Hey, if you want to hear me rant, you're gonna have to pay, now!"

I dunno. I might take a look at it.

And to elaborate a little bit... I'm not saying I wouldn't do that if I were in the same situation as him, but it's just ... it's awfully hypocritical to hear him rave about never putting ads up on his site, and then doing something like this.

Regardless, he's hysterical.

Same thing happened to Seanbaby, except replace book with "Gaming magazine person".

The only thing I like about Seanbaby is his name. Just listen to the ring that "Seanbaby" has to it.

For the record, just like his t-shirts, he probably isn't making all that much money off of this. What brand new, 200-page hardcover runs for $14.99 MSRP?

well, he's a talented (and hilarious) person, why not get some cash like every other comedian?
also, his entire reason for having no advertisements is so no one is censoring him (that was especially evident in the Orbitz article... comedy gold)

but i understand what your saying winnie, its a disappointment about the site. I'm still going to be first in line to pick up the book once it comes out

Hey, I didn't know Cheapy was also a Maddox fan! So what do you suppose would happen if Cheapy (who's never wrong) was to say one thing was true and Maddox (who's always right) was to say the exact opposite thing was true? Would the universe as we know it end?

Come on now.. it's TEN fricking dollars and it's a hardcover book with a badazz chain going through it! That's a price a CAG'er shouldn't be able to find a problem with. Hm, questioning last sentence already.

I agree that it's unfortunate about the site but what does he owe us. He's doing us a favor by putting the stuff up for free. Think about it, he obviously is into writing and good at it... so.....

..... maybe he want's to be an author????????? duh duh duh!:applause:

don't mean to hate, but I never got the appeal of maddox, the humor seemed like dropping in on the conversation in the back of a 5th grade classroom.
The price has been dropped to $9.57! :)
So if this rate stays steady, it won't be long until we're paid to read it?

I've forgotten better shit than he's ever written. If Maddox was a true man, he'd go a round of fisticuffs with me right now.

Heh.

Only 10.99. I am going to be getting one. might as well, its not like there are many books that come out worth reading anyway

Yeah, I requested Houston for the poll, and also preordered. I like Maddox's site, and I feel good supporting him for it. I hope the book has a point, and not just randomness. Haha,I don't even own any other books besides "Scary Stories Trilogy"!

Note: just because your city gets the most votes doesn't necessarily mean I'll come to your city (I'm talking to you, all of Alaska).

Never followed his site closely checked it every now and then. Probably won't buy the book. Publishing a book isn't that a step back if you on the net first?

So Stephen King or John Grisham would better their career by ditching books and writing blogs instead?
Any CAGs read it yet? I'm still waiting for word on its quality so to say.
It's pretty good, I read it the night I got it. It's about 100-150 pages ( don't remember exactlly), but it is most definately Maddox. Some parts are simply hilarious, some not so much. It is easily worth the $10 I paid for it though. If you're a fan of his site, you should enjoy the book.

Yeah I read it, loved most of it, it starts off and ends slowly and there's more than a few typos, but a lot of it is classic Maddox and really pretty hilarious.

This is the best book in existance. An entire chapter is dedicated to house training a woman. How could it get better?

Answer: With hot sauce, lumberjacks, zombies, beef jerky, pirates, boners, gas, porn, violence, and knockers. Which, conveniently, all have their own chapters.

Yeah I got it for $5 and change at Buy.com w/ my coupon. Up to 'I'. Hot sauce was pretty classic. Love Maddox, love most of the book so far.

This book is awesome, read a good chunk of it today at Books A Million just killing time. I would have bought it but I'll use my B&N card and get it there.
Yeah, I finished it on Thursday. Good book. Hot Sauce and Beef Jerky were my favorites.
I got weird looks in the bookstore as people would walk by and be nosy pricks, they would see such things as "BONERS" or pictures of a woman getting headbutted in her ovaries, or of how to grope some titties. It was a good side effect to reading the book.

I read it on the bus, public transportation. It was pretty bad. So bad, that my marketing professor asked me what I was reading in class. It's kind of hard to lie when the book has the title on it, so I just showed her the title. A-w-k-w-a-r-d.
