CAGiversary!
My grandmother saw brain age on the local news and now she wants to play

i was so shocked because my grandmother is the last person to want to play any kind of games. this is exactly Nintendos plan and i just couldnt believe it. i really feel Nintendo knows what the hell they are doing.

has anyone else experienced this first hand with family members?

im sure the Nintendo Wii will have similar success

well, in japan it wasnt in instant success either, it spread over time. i think it will happen here in a similar fasion. my mother quizzed me on it and wants to play. so that might be a possible mothers day gift.

my parents are buying a DS to play it and they've always hated video games. They kept telling me while I was showing it to them that, "This is not a game!"
I just gave my mother in law my non-lite DS along with English Training.
I hope she uses it!
Good. You totally owed her for that kick ass cat-ears hat! :D

Up next: Increase your bust and wii size with Boobage and Joystickage! Coming to a retailer near you!

My wife was watching the tyra banks show, and they showed a brain age commercial.(which was the 1st time I've ever seen it)

My dad falls under the category of used-to-be gamers. After a little period of complaining about having to zoom in and out of the cells in Sudoku, he's pretty much monopolized my DS this whole time I've been home on break.

I've given my DS and Brain Age to be played to four different people, and they are now going to buy DSes actually because of it.

Gotta link?

Fantastic - I'll have my mom do that and convert everyone in the store to the Church of DS.
yah, 4 save slots
Oh, that's excellent. I bought it and let my daughter play it (I was doing something else and didn't watch). She said it asked for her birth date and said there was no different slots to save in - it just asked her. I thought it would be tied to her scores only. Now I can start my own scoring.

I am *really* trying to get my wife to use the DS. I thought Phoenix Wright would do it, and she seems moderately interested but never has the time to try it (3 kids you know). But Brain Age is quick enough that maybe it can be her "starter drug" :D. Then I can move her onto the "harder" stuff like Sprung and Phoenix Wright. From there, who knows... Though the Wii may finally be the gaming system that gets her to play - damn Nintendo and their marketing savvy.

My wife plays the crap out of Brain Age. She does all of the training religiously every night. She'll even lean over to me and exclaim stuff like "I set a new record in Syllable Count!

I told my mother-in-law (big gamer) about Brain Age and she saw the commercials when watching Dr. Phil or something. The commercial features an attractive middle-aged woman playing Brain Age. It talks up the Sudoku option at the end.

Now my mother-in-law wants me to bring my DS over the next time we visit.

Gah! I say go granny, go granny, go granny, go! I'm loving reading about all of you who are getting your wives and moms and in-laws into DS...

My husband likes to look over my shoulder and watch while I play Brain Age... I can't get him to try it out, though. I wish I could get him hooked on it... then I'd have a reason to get a DS Lite! ;) Pluse it would be nice to actually be able to take advantage of the local network multiplayer games. He just likes his actions games, though... if it's about WWII or planes or vampires or Star Wars, it's good... otherwise he just thinks it's weird

i just got a ds (thanks to the mario bundle at amazon) and i'm excited to get some games for it.. my girlfriend is addicted to sudoku and she wants brainage, animal crossing, zelda and nintendogs.. guess that means i need to get 2 ds's

This just gave me a great idea to buy my Grandma one for Xmas. I never know what to get her, but a DS & Brain Age would be cool.
