Normally I dont think this would be a great deal, but most of these games could be purchased for $5 at CC or cheaper elseware, bringing the total to about $15 or less. Not too bad of a deal.

Now THAT'S interesting. I could trade in my DOA Hardcore, Knockout Kings 2002 and MK: DA, get this free, and get the PSI-Ops/MK:DA deal online. VERY interesting. Thanks! :)
do you have to bring in those games now, for a pre-order? or is that deal going to be active in august when the game comes out?
Yes..... Offer Expires August 31st, 2004, the day the game is released..

Knockout KIngs and Wrestlemania 18? Hmmm...

Alot of that other stuff has better trade in credit at FYE. I know Bloody Roar 4 and Alien vs Predator will net you $30+ I might go that route if GS decides to stop accepting some of those games.

Thanks for the deal btw.

What's the Psi-Ops/MK:DA deal?

This sounds great! My local CCs have tons of Celebrity Deathmatches, Wrestlemania x8s, and XIXs! Do you know if you can trade in 3 of the same game and if theres a limit? I'm thinking of getting one copy to play and one to sell/trade.

Looks like my copy of Bloody Roar 4 and Wrestlemania 18 is going to Gamestop to get this game free! I'll have to find another game to trade-in though...

I guess I could trade in WMXIX, as I just got that for 4.99 and Day of Reckoning is coming out soon anyway...

Not a bad deal if you can take advantage of those $5 games. The XBox version is gonna be live from what I heard. Third Strike and SF2 online woot

Anyone know if you can use these games?

Stake Fortune Fighter (Xbox)
UFC Throwdown (GCN)
UFC Tapout (Xbox, the first game)

I saw plenty of these at my Circuit City, but I was debating about picking them up towards this deal.

Also, is UFC Sudden Impact 5 bucks at Circuit City? I saw 2 copies.

This game doesn't require that "limited edition" controller does it? I don't think it does, but I just want to be sure.

Has anybody done this yet? They don't reject the titles he listed off, does he?

I'm sort of worried that they might find a way to reject my copy of WMX8.

WMX8
WMXIX
Bloody Roar 4

15 dollars total, so, I could trade those in, then get the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection free when it comes out? They do not reject those titles because they "have too many in stock", do they? That happened to me at Gamestop once...
too bad this is only good for the ps2 version, I'm waiting for the xbox version with live support.
where does it say that it's ps2 only?? or is August 31st the release date for only the ps2 version?

Aud. 31st is the PS2 versions release date with the xbox getting it a month or so later, but I still don't get why it can't be for either version?

i would never ever trade 3 games in for one $30 game..if i wanted it that bad, then i'll fork over the $30

actually the xbox version has been postponed till 2005 :(
actually the xbox version has been postponed till 2005 :(
So it has. 11th January. That'll piss some people off. Not me, coz I've got a PS2, but still, seems like an odd move, unless they think the Live functionality will stop people from buying the PS2 version.

I hope they'll take these DC games from me:

Last Blade 2
Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves
Marvel vs. Capcom 2

If not, they're going in the trashcan outside of the store. Actually, I'll just break the games in half over the store counter and let them worry about putting them in the trash.

Bleh, really? Oh well. I was planning on buying the PS2 version and then buying it again for Xbox for the online play. Yeah, it's kinda dumb, but I really like Street Fighter...at least this way it's easier to justify my plan, since there will be more time inbetween the two.

I can't believe you'd really do that to does games. Those are some of the best fighting games ever IMO.

I already asked. He was just kidding. I wanted to get complete versions of them.

and Mark of the Wolves is by far my favorite SNK fighter. They have plenty of good ones, but this one is so top notch it will not be beat.

Smart on CAPCOM's part. I will probably end up getting another Xbox for Christmas and will buy the game twice.

Oh well, I have about 5 other online 2-D fighters to look forward to on XB.

you should have swaped MvsC2 with power stone 2. That game I'm sure will never get ported to another console.

I just traded in 2 copies of Wrestlemania X8 and Bloody Roar 4 with no problems. I guess they can reject some of these games if they have too many, since the flyer does say something about some titles are up to the Manager's discretion or somethign along those lines. I guess the only way to know for sures is to go in and try it for yourself. Good Luck

Just stopped by a gamestop in North County San Diego and the manager there said he never heard of that promotion. The only trade in promo they have going right now is +30% credit with the trade in of 3 or more games. Has anyone verified this promo in the San Diego area?

I will scan the flyer as soon as I get home. Maybe you can print it out and take it in and they will honor the promotion Its worth a shot.

Please do scan it as soon as possible, because I don't want to go down there without them knowing of the deal, is there a link to a site with this information on it?

Thank you, Fizmo, by the way.

you can always call them and ask before you go

Well, I just got back, they took my games without any negative comments or doubts, in fact, here's the picture of the receipt you get after you do the transactions:

So it worked without any problems, and I spent 15 dollars or so to get an awesome game coming out on 8/31... yay! :D

This is a nice deal and I applaud the person who post it for us, but from a gamer's point of view which I believe gamers today should all have grown up after all these years... Does it really appear to be a good deal when we trade 3 games for a very old street fighter game?

I know we all got the craving for a round of SF or two, but for those who already got SF in their closets, we could have pop it in and satisfy our desire.....especially this one still has no online capability..

I must say, for gamer who has never played SF before, this is one amazing deal, and for the old time gamers, it's also probably cool to collect, but as for seriously gaming time in this one.. I think you guys would much rather duel it out a few more rounds with Guilty Gear or Soul Calibur....

It's just my humble opinion

I'm a long-time gamer from back in the days when I was 5-6, and I still can't wait for this, I'll enjoy the bonuses and mixtures of games, and the various remixes of SF2 will be fun to play with the PS2 controller, and with friends. It's easier for me to spend a total of 15 for this game than to find an older Street Fighter, since this has two SF's in it, but the SF2 in it has like 5 versions of the original SF2, but, anyway, coming from a classic gamer I love how they're releasing classic games for the new era of gamers to play and enjoy like we did in the past, and it doesn't hurt to spend 15 dollars playing a remake of games we grew up playing.

I guess I just love the feeling of playing older games on newer consoles, I dunno why, I just enjoy it.

heres another deal... not as good unless you plan on getting the SF controllers.... at eb they are running a MIR deal where if you buys street fighter collection and a street fighter collection controller u get a 5 dollar off mail in rebate... if you buy street fighter collection and 2 street fighter collection controlers, you get a 15 dollar MIR, not bad if u plan on picking up the game and some controllers!
