I used to spend a lot of time playing these in the late 90's. Lot of my friends moved. and I was wondering what are your top 5 multiplayer games. 3+players in one room playing a game. Nintendo 64 was the best system for multiplaying IMO.

5. Bomberman ( prefer SNES bomberman 4)
4. Wrestlemania 2000 (so easy to pick up and play)
3. Mario Kart (red turtle shells)
2. Goldeneye ( great weapons and hunting friends down)
1. NBA Hangtime ( i love pushing people  )

Awesome. NBA Hangtime is my favorite game of all time!

1. NBA Hangtime (N64/Arcade)
2. Contra (NES)
3. X-Men (Arcade) -- 6-player version!
4. Saturn Bomberman (Saturn) -- 10-player!
5. Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN)

not in any order
1) Goldeneye
2) Super Monkey Ball 2
3) Chu-Chu Rocket
4) Super Smash Bros
5) Timesplitters 2

honorable mention - NBA Street 2

no particular order

1. Phantasy Star Online
2. Super Bomberman (snes)
3. Halo (system link)
4. WWF No Mercy (n64)
5. Crimson Skies (system link)
Honorable Mention (Dont laugh) DOOM 1+2 system link on GBA

Here are mine:

1) Secret of Mana (SNES)
2) Super Bomberman 2 (SNES)
3) Mario Kart Double Dash (GC)
4) Golden Eye (N64)
5) Guardian Heroes (sega Saturn)

Honorable mention:
Groove on Fight (sega Saturn)

5)Duke Nukem... Don't ask, I used to play this game all the time with my Step Brother
4)Any hockey game, Old school ones are funner due to the lack of good passing and shooting, so it makes it 10 times harder.
3) Super smash bros 64 (I Don't own a GC so haven't played the new one)
2) Mario kart 64
!1!) Perfect Dark

Bomberman
TimeSplitters 2
Goldeneye
Phantasy Star
Halo
Super Smash Bros Melee

Not in any real order, just naming some off the top of my head.

5. Bishi Bashi
4. Dynasty Warriors 3,4
3. Bare Knuckle/Streets of Rage (I can't believe no one mentioned this)
2. Bomberman (any SNES edition)
1. Secret of Mana

Poy Poy
Video Olympics
Super Smash Brothers (regular or melee)
Mario Kart 64
Midway Arcade Treasures (Gauntlent, Rampage, Super Sprit, among others)

WWF Royal Rumble on SNES was pretty hot back in the day, and I didn't even like wrestling.

Also, Bomberman, Street Fighter 2 (I know its not technically 'multi' but all my friends would gather around the SNES and we'd have tourneys like every week it was crazy), Pokemon Stadium, Fuzion Frenzy, Halo

No particular order of course but Halo has to be #1

EDIT: How could I forget.. Poy Poy.. just couldn't remember the name. Kung Fu chaos is the closest thing to it this generation, but it can't live up to its glory

No particular order:

Mario Kart 64
Phantasy Star Online
Halo
Goldeneye 64
...and the game no one has yet to mention...
WORMS!

Sure hope Worms 3D is as fun as the 2D versions.

You can never forget the first foray into 4-player greatness: Warlords for the 2600. I still played this with friends in the mid '90s. Greatness!

Actually, Video Olympics was one of (if not the first) 4 player games. Granted it was just 4 player variants of pong, it came out in 77, and I know I still play it when folks are over. (Warlords was out in '81)

Yeah, I don't know why I wrote that it was the first. I was thinking "my" first. Sorry, dude. Not hate on Video Olympics. I played that one too, but no staying power for me.

In any order---

World Class Track Meet w/power pad--Still fun after all these years!! Even if the people I play with like to cheat and use their hands.

-Virtual Pro Wrestling 2
-Street Fighter/King of Fighters series
-Mario Party 2 (haven't played the last 3 much)
-Perfect Dark
no doubt ya'll missed the greatest multiplayer game of all time....tetris attack!
My mother, who loves tetris, got hooked to this game back years ago. One 3 week overdue rental and eBay purchase later, she got a copy. Even now when we play its usually 50/50 as to who will win. Has to be my favorite Tetris by far.

All though Bust-A-Move/Puzzle Bobble 4 on the Dreamcast is pretty sweet.

1. Goldeneye
2. Perfect Dark
3. WCW Vs NWO: World Tour
4. Excitebike 64 (gotta love that soccer mode)
5. Mario Kart 64
