This is making its way up digg today:

It's pretty cool; the text changes each time.

Post your results!

This test is a little hard, as I can't type like a retard, like the image above the typing area can.

I'm all over the board on this one. The problem that I had initially is that it considers one space after a sentence acceptable, yet two spaces (which is also correct) as a mistake. That was always slowing me down. I also made a lot of punctuation mistakes as the text was pretty old and they used a lot more commas in the old days. I also made some auto correct mistakes (teh instead of the).

~80 wpm.

I'll go for it, but I'm not nearly as fast on my laptop as my ergonomic board. Here goes nothin!

Holy shit, nevermind. I'm still badass ;) 113 wpm, 460 cpm. Stupid one space after a period annoys me.

I seem to be hitting about 77-79. The single-space after period is getting me too, since I learned old-school that you put 2 spaces after a period. Old habbits are hard to break. ;)

I can also type a hell of a lot faster when what I'm typing makes some kind of sense. :p

I can't type very fast unless I know what I want to say. Copying something slows me down, but from memory I'm much faster. I only got 66wpm.

I always double space as well. When did they change that?

Kind like how they changed lists. Some people say you're supposed to do it "one, two, and three" and others say you go "red, blue and green".

I love how people can just decide to change long standing conventions.

Same with me. When I'm writting a paper and just coming up with stuff on the fly I can type much faster then I can copying text.

Didn't try this, but I've taken them several times in the last year. Usually hit between 80 and 90 (with zero mistakes) and a little over 100 if I have a couple errors.

That's probably the same for everyone, me included. I can type ridiculously fast if I'm just going by what's in my head.

7 mistakes.

At first I didn't know where I was making mistakes, then I realized that this test only has one space after periods instead of the proper two (at least that's how I know it, has it changed?). Outside of the period "mistake" I actually only made three true mistakes.

Not too bad I guess.
