EB/GS Games Daily Deal 15% off any in stock used DVD & Games

It would take buying $20 worth of games @ 15% to equal what the free $3 shipping "SAVER" coupon already does for any priced used game.

I got Metroid Prime for $5.60 shipped the other day by using "SAVER". If I had used 15%, (15% minus $4.99 + tax) + $3 shipping = $7 almost $8 instead.

Yep, the days of when you could double up on more than one coupon is over, thanks alot Game Suck, I mean Stop for the "One coupon per order BS".

15% would be great with free shipping.

Not the website as much as GameStop killing the use of the stackable codes. That plus the way that pretty much most of their games come now. They're making a killing though so it doesn't matter what we think.

The biggest disappointment to me is that you can no longer use your credit! I have a bunch of EB credit from the current trade-in deal. If I could use that online I might order from them. But they removed that capability, removed the multiple coupon codes, and now send games disc-only and scratched up with sandpaper (YMMV).

I miss morning updates, using my edgecard, not seeing games they don't have (backordered), stackable coupons, 25% off and free shipping, those nice, white bubble envelopes that arrived swiftly, mostly getting cases and functional games.

Yeah, the old EB site was mythic.

Yup, it went from the best to one of the worst. I'm still pissed about it.

Actually, I would say showing all games even when backordered is an improvement. It drove me crazy looking for games on the old site only not to have them show up at all. At least when they are backordered you can see how much they will cost and can still use the store locator to see if there are any copies locally - couldn't do that before if the stupid online site didn't have them.

But that is one small improvement amongst many things that got WAY worse. (Not being able to use credit and no guarantee of complete games are the worst ones by far.)

Yep, no more stackable coupons Edge card 10%, CAG 15%, and Free Saver shipping, which by the way, since GS took over the site, the saver shipping price went up from $1.99 to $2.99.

Plus, with used games, the big question is, Will I get a decent, non-scratched game with original manual & case?

My Metroid came with the original case, and good condition disc in my buy GS purchase last week, but no manual.

My Next buy could be worse with GS, in that I might just just get a scratched up disc only.

This never happened with EB. Usually, for me, the disc was mint to very good, and on occassion I got a fairly worn, but very playable copy (mostly the $3-6 games), but they always came with case & manual regarless.

Current gen games were guarenteed complete, they restocked every weekday morning with rare/older titles, and you could stack great coupons....

I've found that the TRUE big question is whether they used sandpaper or steel whool to clean them with :)

LOL, exactly.

I know I'm alway sure to use a good brillo pad and Ajax / bleach to get my discs good and clean before I trade them in to GS.

It's kind of the "new" rule, kind of how for VCR tapes it was "be kind rewind", but for games it's "sand on, then trade in".

Wasn't there a 20% coupon last time they had a deal?
Come on now EB/GS give us that extra 5%! It will help your math wizards calculate much easier and save us a little bit more like in the past, maybe it even bring back some of the old veterans who've given up on EB/GS website! :)

I'm waiting for a moment about ten years down the line, when EB/GS has about 50,000 storefronts, to hear out of the blue that Sony/MS/Nintendo/whoever are all going download exclusive for content and their entire business plan goes under. Maybe then, they'll actually start using acceptable business practices.

I don't know which I'd prefer, the old way or the new, but both have their pros and cons.

After reading through this thread, I thought of something. Everybody want to send EB/GS some sort of feedback or e-mail with a link back here? ;)

It's funny most folks crap on GS.com, but it was actually better for me to order stuff from GS before the move. EB used to charge tax to Hawaii and GS didn't. EB had no "value shipping" to Hawaii and GS did (as low as $1.99). I couldn't take advantage of any of EB's shipping promos, either (i.e. free 2/3 day upgrades).

Of course, now that they've merged, they both just suck all around. I rarely go there, except for Chaos Field, which I couldn't find cheaper (new) anywhere else (even B&M).

They don't even have Dead or Alive 4 used online at all, not even an entry.

Nevermind, I see it. Do 360 games usually come complete?
It's funny most folks crap on GS.com, but it was actually better for me to order stuff from GS before the move.
That's because most people don't live in Hawaii.

These threads always turn into GS vs EB crap and just random bashing..

Its repetitve and annoying and this happens daily.. Its really annoying and stupid. People are just posting deals.. no need to run in and say "LOL THIS SITE SUCKS NOW" or "THIS SITE SUCKS VS THIS ONE" ... who cares.. We are here for deals not for preaching on your little nitpicks.

/vent lol :p

It's relevant because the site's current deals pale to the old deals. We would do the same with any other website that underwent a dramatic change. In this case, it just happens to be EB/GS, who get bashed 24/7, so it seems to be a continuation of the bashing, and in many ways it is, but to me, I miss the old website more than anything and am venting that frustration in this thread. I'm not bashing the merger or display copies or other garbage, I'm bashing the merger's effect on the website.

That and the merger went down before my time as a CAG, so I didn't know what made the old EB site better by comparison. It's educational!

eb and gamestop can die for raising prices of used games! They arn't ebay and they shouldn't be jewing everyone charging collectors prices, especially on disc on crap! Now charging $10.00 more for silent hill 2, marvel vs. capcom 2, and ikaruga - plus many other games i'm sure. I hate them and hope they fold.

the only good thing they have done was killing of there old school game selection now i can get those games at gamecrazy or other stores for much cheaper.

did i mention how much i hate eb and game stop?

I'm sue a lot of eb and gs managers "GO DOWN" on there fellow employes corporate to for a raise!
