Saw this today when I went to get the DoA 4 stick... I've waited for a price drop on this FOREVER, this is the perfect price.

Picked up the last one in Port Richey, remember this stick was an EB exclusive.
Is this arcade stick worth the $29.99?
From what I've heard, it was worth it when it was $49.99... I used one at a friends house, and its decent. Not tournament worthy or anything, but an excellent stick for casual play, and way better than most of the other shit on the market at EB / GS.

It's a different price. That's a good enough reason to make a new thread.

I've been wanting to get one of these for a while.. I love the artwork. If I can get another one for even cheaper, I'll mod one of them.

i bought this stick for full price when it first came out, and i love it. i haven't done any mods to it, but i guess i'm just not that picky since i won't be attending a national competition anytime soon. ;) actually, what i mainly use the stick for is playing games with mame (oooooooh... he said a dirty word). if you can find this stick for $30 i'd highly recommend picking it up.

Very good stick for the money. Especially at $30, these sticks can be easily modified with happ arcade parts for the cheapest competition joystick ever (mas sticks easily cost $90). Also saw a recent mod that turned the joystick 360 compatible, should be great for doa4 and the upcoming sf2! I've been looking for one for awhile but they've been gone for awhile, I guess it's too late for me.
I was actually looking for this last saturday when I thought it was still available. Also is the DOA Joystick now clearanced at all Gamestop?
Nope, got one of these today too, it's still $39.99 which is a decent price.

Got it for the upcoming SF 2.

God I need to find another one of these I already own one upgraded with Happ parts. I'm building a dreamcast joystick, I had figured on building the case myself but this way would be cheaper since I'll already wired everything just need a box for all the parts.

I had a post in here about modding the stick (where to get the parts, a step by step guide, etc). Did anyone see my post, know what happened to it, or am I just going crazy?

imho, that stick is a peice of crap. But for $30 its worth it for the artwork on the case. Cos you can easily take that case and swap out the stick and buttons for real arcade parts. So for about $60 total, you can have a arcade quality SF Anniversary stick.

I can vouch for the quality of these sticks, been tearin' mine apart for about 5 months playing SFIII and no problems, very quick response, very durable. Also it comes with a freakin' sweet wall poster (artwork on joystick) that is very worthy for framing. Definitely worth 30 clams.

i picked this up for $50 and thought it was a great deal. I believe it is for XBOX and PS2. Hopefully I can find another one for $30

Went looking for this today, but my store didn't have any. I'll try maybe one other tomorrow, but from the look of things, it seems that most stores are already sold out of these.

very nice price.

I returned mine because the stock buttons/stick really suck. But for $29.99 it's a great price for those who are looking to mod it with Happ arcade parts.
how does this compare to my first party, namco, tekken 5 arcade stick?
Depends if you like Japanese-style sticks and buttons or US-style. I had a Tekken 5 stick, and it was OK. Personally, I like the US style sticks and Japanese style convex buttons better, so I prefer the SF stick. However, as others have said, you really need to get a better stick and some shorter competition buttons in the SF stick to really bring out the best in it. I had one for awhile, and replaced the stock parts with a Happ competition stick and competition buttons. Made a world of difference over the stock parts. I'm planning to build a small cab-style enclosure with a 2-player CP for my consoles, or I'd be looking for a couple more of the SF sticks.

I bought one of these when they were new. Be careful, many of them don't work out of the box. The first two I got were defective -- one of the buttons didn't work. The third worked perfectly, and I haven't had any trouble with it.

They work with PS2 and Xbox. They even have a slot for the Xbox voice communicator thingy.

the brand does sound genreric Nuby Tech I can't say much about it especially after using the SF controllers the D-pad were loose and horrible. On top of the T5 Hori I think it's better (hori brand) although it doesn't have the arcade Sanwa parts I prefer that stick since it has a square based rotation just like the arcade.

You can get Happ Competition buttons for around $1.50 per button, and Happ Competition sticks for about $8. PM me for links, because I think my last post got deleted for having a link to where you can buy buttons.
I used the stick portion of the mod, and I don't think I've ever been happier with my fighting games. The best part about the SF 15th Ann. Stick is that it's made out of particle board, so it feels and smells like the real thing; and it feels realy, really solid, too--if you're one to pound on the arcade machine when you lose, this one will hold up.

Seriously, if you commit to doing at the least the stick mod (this was my first mod, and it took less than an hour), then you'll be real happy with this arcade stick, especially for this price!

One of the leads probably fell off in transit. Just take the stick apart and put the wire back into the button. It's very simple and all you need is a screwdriver. It'll help you get an idea for what you need when you eventually mod the stick with competition parts.

Located one at a mall 15-20 minutes away from me. I asked them to hold it for me, so I can go pick it up later tonight. We'll see if they actually still have it when I get there though. This has to be better than my current stick.

I can't stress that enough either. I got a replacement stick with my warranty since I worn my old one out and I was playing xbox fighting games for a month with no problems. I one day decided to play some SF III on ps2 with it and I found out the damn ps2 side is defective. I couldn't find a replacement anywhere, they are all sold out in my area.

I think I just bought the only one in the San Diego area.

After reading some of the posts I will make sure to test this sucker tonight on Xbox and PS2.

At least it looks and feels alot better than the arcade stick I had been using.

imo, that Tekken 5 stick is about 100x better than the SF Anniversary stick. The Tekken stick is made by Hori, and is a knockoff Sanwa stick (Sanwa makes real japanese arcade sticks & buttons). But even tho it is a knockoff, its a very high quality stick.

I have real Sanwa sticks, and the Tekkin 5 stick compares favorably with them, theres not that much difference. But the difference between the SF:A stick and a real Happ parts US arcade stick? Night and Day.
