Wow, I got some cheap Xbox 360 stuff at Wal-Mart!

Dunno if this is at every Wal-Mart, but I just got back from one in Central Jersey.

I picked up the Pelican wired Xbox 360 pad for just $10, and two official silver face plates for just $3 each! They had the HD cables for (I think) $30, some xbox and ps2 pads on clearance, and some various Game Boy Micro sleves for between $5 and $2.50.

I'm just suprised to find not just 360 accessories, but official stuff so cheap. I thought the console was selling well...

The console is selling pretty well but who wants some crappy 3rd party controllers? Or Plain Silver Faceplates? People where buying the console just not the extra crap.

P.S. I'm ot tring to be a dick, just spitting the truth.

Oh no, I don't take that post as dickery.

$10 for a controller is still less than I'd expect it to be...and I can see people not having much interest in a silver face plate, but taking a loss like that (don't they sell for $15 normally?) is unexpected.

Either way, I plan on painting the faceplates, and selling them on ebay.

Yea. I would most def pick those Faceplates up for $3.00 also. I was just mentioning they weren't selling good at 15-20 there normal price. Also let me know how the controller is. I read a lot of bad things about it when it first came out.

From what I hear, you can use the wired 360 pads on your PC...which is only cool when you are talking about the high quality first party one...

i got one of those 360 controllers for $15 and then a madcatz for $5 one week later. The pelican one isn't bad i use it for my computer.

I've been actually been wanting a silver faceplate to just use normally. My entertainment center looks wierd with a white face mixed in with mostly silver and black. Thanks again OP! :D

Is the third party controlers compatable with PCs?

I got news for you...Wal-mart is still probably making money on the face plates at $3. A cheap piece of injected molded plastic. The packaging probably costs more than the plate.

I have no problem with wired controllers. Saves $ not having to buy batteries.

And counting these are available for $10, basically 3 for the price of 1 MS 1st party, and they are PC compatible, I'd be all over this. It never hurts to have a cheap controller around for multiplayer games when playing friends on Madden or etc. And for when your 1st party finally breaks or wears out, you don't to put your gaming on hold.

I picked up a hotrod faceplate for about $3 at a wal-mart around here.

I also picked up about 20 of the madcatz wired 360 controllers. They were reviewed really well, and were on clearance for only $5. I sold them all for between $15 and $20 on ebay.. Good profits there.

Holy shit, WTF?! I was just at my local wal-mart yesterday and I didn't see any of these "super prices". lol

Because when it comes to a walmart deal, its always going to be YMMV!

Seems like "first party" and "high quality" only work together with "microsoft" in the same sentence when it concerns either xbox system.

Not trying to threadjack or anything, just stating my observations.

Other than, at least you found some good clearance items OP.

I actually have 2 sealed Jedi Hunter xbox controllers that I picked up during the TRU $10 sale last Dec (the 3rd one I have I opened). Went to one and they had a bin that for every game you bought for that system, you got a free controller. To bad they only had xbox. Seems like I have more xbox controllers that work perfectly than I do any PS2 controller period

That's not how retail works. Wal-Mart makes money by selling high volumes, not by marking products up 500% over cost.

I was at Wal-Mart ealier this week and I picked up one of the last run of original Xbox Live kits (looks like the old kits for original Xbox but says "compatible with Xbox 360" on the box and expires 03/31/07) for $42.50, it came with the old headset (I've been looking for one of these) and PGR2/XBL Arcade (useless). There were three of these on clearance but two of them were ripped open and someone stole the subscription cards out of them, so I got the last one that was still sealed and had everything still inside. There was also a bunch of other random 3rd party controllers for various systems, as well as a bunch of batteries/cases and other random accessories for the DS and PSP on clearance. I also saw a set of component cables for the 360 as well as mentioned in a previous post. This was not near the video games section, it was a whole isle of clearance items from all departments near the front of the store. So I would look for such an isle at your local Wal-Mart.

YMMV as always, but one of my local walmarts had the old 12 month live kits with either Crimson Skies or MechAssault full game and communicator on clearance for $26.00. They had at least 5 other boxes left, all sealed. This was at the Alexandria, KY Walmart.
