Gamerush Trade in Deal is Back!!

About fucking time! Although I was just in GR today and I didn't see any signs advertising the deal. Maybe they didn't start it yet?

BTW, it's been a looooong time since GR had any kind of trade-in deal. Didn't they have some kind of rules on what can be traded in order to get the extra $5 per game? Like no old sports games or something?

This is really good news. It's just too bad GR has a pretty bad selection of things to buy. Hmmm, maybe I'll get the camera for 360 there.
why would you trade to gamerush when u can get 5$ more for the same deal at GS/EB
Actually, you'd be getting $5 more at GameRush since it is $5.00 extra PER GAME. :applause:

You got it wrong. Gamerush gives you an extra $5 *PER* game. The EB/Gamestop deal is only an extra $10 total for all 3.

You get an extra $5 going with the Gamerush deal. They have way better trade-in prices too.

I think they just haven't updated the site, but here's hoping the promotion comes back. I'm sitting on about 20 games I could trade in to build some nice credit for Wii games.

I know a few CAGs have reported the promotion never ended at their stores but that's very YMMV.

Yeah that's been on the site for a couple weeks at least. I think it was just never taken down.

This deal is great, except that none of the games I have for trade-in fit the $8+ qualification condition.

They only have to SELL at Blockbuster for $7.99, which is just about any game.

Too bad you won't have shit to buy at Gamerush.

Sorry, I'd rather lose the $5 but be guaranteed the very large selection of recent games and on time preorders that EB / GS provides.

Not to mention GR dosen't even get the games in (ever) that I'm interested in.

Rule of thumb with GR: If you can trade in for enough of a mark-up over EB, it's worth it for no other reason than you can buy games from GR to trade to EB at such a ratio that you would still come out ahead, even if you lose credit transferring between stores.

GR credit is most useful when you know a game is in stock there, or you are preordering a very big release that they can't possibly not get.

I just called a local GameRush, and the guy said that the deal will be coming back, but they don't know the date yet. Another interesting thing for people in my area (St. Petersburg/Clearwater, FL) - the guy said that starting October 15, ALL Blockbusters will be taking trades around here. He said that they worked out some deal with the local authorities to relax the pawnshop law for game trading. Here's hoping the thumbprint/trade sheet are a thing of the past, too.

I know that GR generally sucks, but if the DO have something in stock that you want, the trade 3 deal and generally higher trade values make it a better deal than EB/GS.

I'm going to post this in the sticky thread too.

1. We have an official GR thread. Use it.
2. They most likley never took down the promotion for the trade-in. Remember, this IS GR we are talking about.
3. NEVER beleive anything BB or GR stores tell you about a 'deal coming; back that is over a week away. They get maps once a week and each map will detail a promotion coming in the next week. They will not have access to any deals 3-4 weeks away.

Too many GR haters on this board. They're definitely my favorite video game store and the only one I can go into and get an RPG for $15 that's selling for $50-60 on Ebay (EB/GS would charge $80 for it). Here's a tip for you guys, a Gamerush store is only as good as the neighborhood it's in. If yours sucks, drive to one in the richest area you can find. I go to the one over by the neighborhoods that have million dollar houses and I can find pretty much any used DS/PSP/whatever game I want, used, complete, and dirt cheap. The spoiled kids in those areas trade in massive amounts of great games. Then I go to a GR in a bad part of town and all they have is stack after stack of old sport titles. GR doesn't get big shipments of used games in from a central warehouse like EB/GS does (or at least they rarely do). All their games come from trade-ins, so every GR is going to have a massively different selection based on demographics.

I saw this like Wednesday of last week. I went in to Gamerush with like 15 games only to find the promotion wasn't going on at my Gamerush. MAKE SURE YOU CALL FIRST, unless you want to waste time/gas.

The problem most people have with GR is not their used selection, it's their new and preorder selections. Too often, GR gets new games in a good 2 weeks after they launch (Dead Rising is the latest example I can remember.) even if you pre-order. They just dont care about people getting things quickly, which is why they're being abandoned. They're great for if there's something you want in stock, but real shitty for anything else.

Yea i dont think people dont like gamerush for trades personally they have given me the best, Other than when my gamestop was pricematching trades and i made them price match all of gamerush trades and they were having an extra 50% trade in value for each game.
That was the ultimate trade i traded like 4 games and had about 220 credit. If anyone remembers that it was like 2 years ago.. GOOD TIMES>
