KB Toys 30% off all XB, GC, PS2 games. Starts Oct 2

PaleGreen

CAGiversary!
According to a staffer at my local KB Toys, all games for XB, GC, and PS2 will be 30% off, starting this Monday, Oct. 2. He claims they will only carry GBA and DS games in the future, so discounts may improve as this "final clearance" moves on.

YMMV, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

I didn't know KB still carried those games. The only thing I've seen is some crappy GBA, maybe PS2 games that were $20 or under. Nothing worth actually getting, though...

Maybe you have a SUPER KB or something...

Every KB in my area either went out of business or does not carry games anymore.

It's a shame because I thought both their deals last year (the $1,$5,$10 game clearance and then the buy 1 get 1 free on all games) were deals of the year for me but it doesn't look like that will ever happen again.

The one in the Boulevard Mall already got rid of all the console games. I checked about 2 weeks ago. Kinda sad. I remember when I was a kid KB was the place where I would buy all of my games.

yep, nothing like finding Tactics Ogre, Vagrant Story (non-gh), Bushido Blade 2 and various other rarities sealed;) and as display copies, after that my kbs were basically wiped of anything good...

one thing i noticed last time i was there was a few Metroid Prime Gamecube bundles (shiny box) but they were still regular price

Mine still has games, not sure what but they do have the current gen out there. Are these going to be coming off the shelfs at super cheap prices anytime soon, since you mentioned they are only going to carry GBA/DS?

The only KB still here has games lined up in a case behind the counter. They are sideways, so if you're lucky you can read the titles on the side... and there are no prices. It's really bad.

I went there a coupla weeks ago....I didn't see anything noteworthy.:whistle2:|

Yeah, me 2! Between that and Woolworth's/Toys R Us/Target....I practically grew up in there playing NES kiosks and occasionally getting a game when my grade warranted it or saved enough money up from odd jobs.:bouncy:

It's a sad state of affairs now at KB.

:???: ....which one?

From what I know, they're all crappy games.

Yeah, that's what I just said.

Yeah, most KBs around here cleared out all their console games over the last 2 years. I was lucky enough to get Legend of Mana and FF Tactics for under 15 bucks a piece.
KB has some slick pickins'! All of them around me still carry games so I might check this out tomorrrow. Got to make a mall trip anyways.
What does "slick pickins" mean?

theres still games at KB toys / toy works in the sawgrass mall in florida. its sad since i remember buying the orginal Final Fantasy and the Adventures of LINK for the NES there ;'[.

Best reply. Ever.

I went to 2 KB toys,Manhatten Mall and 86 Bayridge both of them have a really weak selection of game. The only thing that's noteworthy was Pokemon Dungeon,Kingdom Hearts 2 and Tetris Ds in Manhatten. The bayridge kb has a fire emblem path of raidance, but they refuse to price check it for me.

Did you see signs for the deal though?

ya,both stores have a 30% sticker place on video games glass window

I asked a clerk awhile back about videogames. He said that the KB stores that aren't in a mall are different from the ones you'll see at a shopping center. The ones at malls carry games and the ones at the shopping centers don't.

That KB is a goldmine. On vacation a few years ago I picked up a brand new copy of Tactics Ogre GBA there for $9.99. This was in like 2004/5.

whats the difference between a shopping center and a mall?
whats the difference between a shopping center and a mall?
Shopping centers have a more open area where you park your car and go to each building. Open-air retail complexes. A maill is one big building closed off that has the middle area you walk into to go between each store.

The clerk said that malls have a bigger selection of games. Any store that's not part of a mall doesn't have videogames anymore. However, they still have a few PC games that were pretty overpriced.

The KB near me had a 50% off sign in the window, though I'm not sure if it was for games or just toys. May have to walk over there tonight...

Got Kingdom Hearts 2 today from Manhattan Mall for $35 with a $5 off coupon. That's $30 bucks baby! There's a bunch left. :)

Irving Park store (Chicago) is clearing out all games except DS and GBA. Not sure why they'd only keep games for those 2 systems, rather than getting rid of all games entirely. They still have a few games for all systems except 360, but they are mediocre titles, at best. I plan on waiting a couple weeks with the intention of getting games for 75% off.

there were 2 in my area..one died out like 8 years ago..and another remains, the manager kept all the games by the entrance..on a shelf..yea, so my KB was always short on games ;)...or the GBA boxes were busted open and had no carts, seriously :(
(galleria mall in white plains for you NY cags)..now they're behind a case , behind the cash register..but not too good of a selection
