I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer NOT to know where or from who my eBay purchases come from. I wouldn't bid on any auction that has the seller's face on it. Especially one that screams "redneck."

It's total BS.

Many big corps do this too - notably car rental companies.

Do you have time to sit there and read through 5 pages of fine print before you sign for everything you buy.
 
The point isn't whether someone should or should not read the fine print. Of course they should. The point is that the Ebayer is intentionally trying to scam people. Sure, he fooled some dumb people, but does that make him any less an asshole? No.

What's even worse is the douchebag who bid almost 1,000 on this. It's not like it was super hard to read through the single page of description the guy had. Yeah it was shady, but anyone retarded enough to bid that much money without looking at what they're getting first deserves what's coming.
 
It's easy for us to read the fine print on the auction because we're only looking at this one description. But people bidding for a PS3 on eBay are browsing through hundreds of auctions in an hour.

It's pretty hard to read the fine print on every single auction when they're going by at like 10 a minute, and you're just trying to bid on one. Sure, the guy puts that info in the description, below a picture of a freaking PS3 and links to a bunch of PS3 games as well as having the specs of the PS3. That guy deserves the negative that he's going to get.
 
Why are people so stupid to put their pictures on ebay? Some of the dudes look scary that it might turn away some people from buying from them.

A redneck story:

Now for something you should know..... The Box got wet on the truck but who needs a box anyway. I took Pictures of the outside of the box and the inside and the packing as you can see only the very outside layer of the bottom of the box got wet. The inside of the bottom is fine and the packing is fine and their was no moisture to the unit or card board inside the box. So don't let this discourage you from bidding. Someone will want it. These systems are more limited than you think.

I take the pictures with kids and meaning that the child was neglected and either left at home for 2 days to fend for themselves or had to sit outside of a fucking Wal-Mart for 2 days just so their welfare parents can make a couple hundred dollars for their crack addiction.

The steady flow of photos with actual people in them derives from ebay's playstation 3 selling policy. Not only do they require pictures to have signs with the seller's username, but one of the first things it asks for is "a unique photo displaying the ps3 in your possession." I had my auction pulled, even though I had made signs with my username on them, because I violated this rule.

A quick snapshot later and it was all right. Although, I blocked out my face, unlike these guys.
