I bought these to fill my 360 wireless controllers. Much less expensive than the battery packs and have 16 left over!

The company gets good reviews on reselleratings.com (over 9 out of 10)

Shipping was $9.25 for me.

Not sure if it is a rapid charger - I have a MAHA charger that works great - I'll probably use that for most of the charging and keep an extra set in this charger.

Couldn't resist with all the wiimotes and 360 pads! Too bad I just bought a 4 pack the other day for $8.99.

Thanks much OP!

You do not use batteries with any controllers?

Thanks for post OP....

Yes..this is a video game deal in my book when it specifically relates to the playing of video games. I guess if one does not use wireless controllers it would not mean much to them.

I got this charger that charges its special batteries in 15 minutes. The charger has a loud fan to cool the batteries since it get VERY hot after charging.

I finally hopped on too. I've been trying to go easy on springing for stuff with all the clutter right now, but this was defintiely something on inevitable to buy list.

Gets you free "Holiday Shipping" (Hopefully that's Fedex Ground) & it's good through Dec 4th... Effectively making this 24 batteries + charger for $19.99 flat.

Not bad. My launch batteries died today so I'm getting in on this. This is usually $57 shipped for $19.99 shipped... sounds like a deal to me.

Edit: tenergybattery saves you 6%... but for most getting the free shipping saves you ~$7.50 which is better than ~$1.25

I added an additional charger (8 at a time) and got both chargers and 24 batteries shipped for $31.88 total.

Great deal thanks. My older handhelds (Nomad espeacially) eat batteries too quickly, not to mention my wireless doodads.

not so sure about the brand, but what they hey. with digitcal cameras and all these wireless remotes these will definately come in handy. thanks op.

I ordered a set . . . with the free shipping coupon, it was hard to resist.

I think I can get by with the slow charger, I'll just always have some charging.

Let's see 4 batteries for Wimotes, 4 for Wavebirds, 2 for my PS2 wireless, 2 for my Xbox wireless, then all the toys of my kids, TV remotes . . .

24 should about do it

I heard that the so called "quick" chargers actually deplete the amount of charge that a battery can hold quicker, anyone know anything about that?

I'm just got in on this deal, but I'm rather new to the rechargable battery scene. I have a couple of questions that maybe somebody can help me with.

1) Should I charge all the batteries and then use them as I need them? Or should I charge them as I need them and let the unused batteries sit uncharged?

2) Will the charge in these batteries last as long as desposable ones, at least at first?

Thanks for your help in advance!
Came in the mail today! Haven't had time to test em' out yet.......
Was that the holiday shipping or regular Fedex Ground/UPS Priority?

Rechargeable batteries do not keep their charge as long as alkaline (disposable) batteries. They lose a small percentage of their charge every day, so you do not want to use them in devices where reliable power is absolutely necessary, like flashlights and smoke detectors.

You can help, though, by keeping your batteries in the freezer when you don't need them. This slows down the chemical reaction and your batteries will keep their charge longer. I have some ready to go in my freezer, and swap those in whenever the batteries in my controller get low. I then charge those and stick them into my freezer for the next time.

Heat kills batteries. Quick chargers generate a lot of heat. I have a Maha quick charger and I never use the quick charge setting. The long charge takes A LOT longer but during the recharge time, the batteries are completely cool.

I guess the follow up question would be how to spot the slow chargers, since they dont seem to be advertised as being slow or not. I have what is most certainly a quick one. The batteries are very hot and the few rechargeables that I've had for the past few years are almost completely worthless now.

I've had my Powerex batteries for more than a year and they still hold as much of a charge as when I bought them.

As for how to tell about each charger, I don't actually know. I've been a big fan of Maha and have only purchased their products even though it's more expensive than the competition. They always advertise a slow cycle. Although they don't call it slow. It's a "cool" charge or "gentle charge".

Check http://www.thomasdistributing.com/

Something like the La Crosse allows selectable recharging rates:

200-1800 milliamp

Thanks for the info. I'll certainly try out the freezer method.

Glad I waited to jump on this offer. As someone already mentioned, I picked up an additional 8AA charger along with the 24AA Batteries and Charger for $31.00 shipped. The free shipping coupon made this a steal!!! Now I can send 8AA and small charger home with my children and keep 16AA batteries with the higher capacity charger at my house. With two Nintendo Wiis and the Xbox 360, these batteries will come in handy. :)
