DRE on a cube?! Really?! I've had my cube since launch and never encountered any problem like that.

But yea..basically clean the lense and the game, make sure nothings getting in the way of the laser reading the disc. If thats not working, it may be damaged and not dirty.

HAHAHAHA

If you actually used beer, I think you're screwed...

I wouldn't use windex. Just go to a drugstore and get some rubbing alchohol.

Well if you are outside of the 1 year warranty I guess it is worth a shot to try the qtip and rubbing alcohol. My gamecube died in less than a year so they replaced the disc drive.

Seriously? DRE on a GameCube? Like Courageous, I've had my GCN since it launced, and it hasn't ever given me trouble.

And please say you're kidding about the Heineken.

Call Nintendo and they should fix it free. They fixed my GBA free 1 day outside of the 1 year warranty. Its worth a shot.

Doubt they will fix it free especially if he rubbed beer on it. I think it has to be a manufacturers error.

Did you do anything to your Cube that may have caused the DRE? You wouldn't happen to be getting DRE with Def Jam Vendetta are you? I remember people were getting it with the first batch of copies. Other than that, can't figure whats causing it. Probably just drunk now..let your cube sleep it off.

Go to your local grocery or drug store, get a bottle of rubbing alcohol for about a buck, clean the lens, leave it alone for a couple hours. If you're still having problems, call Nintendo's CS line.

GameFaqs sucks.

Seriously though, yes the GCN can get DRE's I hear about them all the time. Never happened to me personally though. If you really did put beer on that thing, you're shaq-fued. You might now realize why that cube was only 30 bucks. You were supposed to use rubbing alcohol. It's common sense, man.

Hey Trakan! Man you quoted it wrong to make it look like I said that! Noooooooooooo!

I've never heard of a Cube DRE before. I think it's the most stable system I've ever own.

Anyone have a suggestion for a gamecube that doesn't even recognize the disc is there?

Like I said about deej's prob, call Customer Service, its toll free. The number is on their website. They'll probably give you a couple suggestions on what to test or something, just comply with everything. If things still don't work and if you get lucky, they may offer you a way to get it fixed, for free even. Probably would have to pay shipping.

yeah, that happened to me back when the cube was 149. I got a disc read error about 2 months out of warranty. So I could pay $75 (back then) or buy a new gamecube with game and controller. I bought a platinum cube.
