Interesting. Has anybody ever played this before? Is it any good?

I played my friend's version for about 10 minutes and was left unimpressed. Of course, you could counter with that I only played it for 10 minutes. For reference, I enjoy the PS2 versions (1-3).

Here's a review by a person and includes Famitsu's score.

Good point monkeypox, forgot about the fighting style difference between the PS2 and GC games.

actually, this is probably a lot closer to the gekitou ninja taisen games for the gamecube than the ps2's narutimet hero series. but yes, word is it's not that great.

i ordered it and was sorely disappointed, though I shouldn't have been surprised. The music is godawful, the AI is super janky, the controls are mushy, and for 2 player action, both people need the cart, which is hard when the game in question must be imported.

I will say this though, despite the flawed excecution, it DOES work, in an odd way, which will hopefully lead to more (and better) 3D handheld fighters on the DS
