If you need a $10/hr raise to pay for a raise in video game prices then you have problems way bigger than video games going up in price. A 10 cent an hour increase would get you an extra $200 a year (assuming 40h/wk) which would easily pay for the $10 difference on the handful of games that are worth buying at launch each year.
Also, if we're going by inflation, games should be closer to $80 than $70 by now.
I was speaking towards the disparity between the steep incline of inflation and the meager gains in salary that the economy of the last two decades has allowed many employers to give. This doesn't equate to an inability to pay $70 for a game. Its a general lack of desire to pay more for yet another thing, especially when in most cases games end up not worth the initial asking price to begin with.
Also why are you trying to justify a price increase to a community dedicated to being cheap?

This is not allowed unless you put up a picture of your car next to your car in a video game (Because all of us car people have found our car and made it look like the one we own at least once).
This is true. I was surprised to find Forza 2 had an Altima in it and promptly went about buying it and making it look like mine. After that it was customizing 350/370zs because I’ve always wanted one. Finally got to test drive a 2008 350 last year and sadly discovered that at 6’ 1” and not as slim as I used to be I might be too big for it.

Hoping for mass effect remaster to be announced then release shortly after so I can use my vacation to begin my insane playthrough in glorious 4k or 1080p.
Same here. If they do that “and its out today” thing I would be out 60 bucks today, especially if they release a switch version.

I know I'm in the extreme minority on this, but I try to be conscious about power consumption and environmental stuff. The One S is incredibly power efficient, max load is about 50w, compared to the launch model which used more than double that when running a game. For something like Hulu, I try to use the most efficient device I can. PS4 has always been a bit more power hungry, the slim model (which is more power efficient) is still almost double the power consumption of the One (the same is true of the revised 360 slim).
For those who are curious:
I'm very curious to see what kind of power use the new consoles have, since revisions almost always result in more efficiency.
Never really thought about the power consumption of consoles before but I applaud this effort. Considering how powerful the CPU and GPUs are in the new consoles I can see them pulling quite a bit of wattage to get the performance needed. The PS5 especially due to its reliance on boosting clock speeds to gain additional processing power.
