AC: Origins is 17% off today. Think there's a chance it will be cheaper on BF or Cyber Monday?

Not on Steam. If thats where you want it, it wont be cheaper  in a couple of days nor next month when Winter Sale happens. If you're open to the uPlay only version its been around $30 since prerelease due to the promotions its been in. You can find it around that price easily on the trade market.

you losers have zero taste in quality items.  Its all about gold moth hats and matching gold dosh glasses.  There is a secret achievement

in the game called FABULOUS!!!! when  you wear this combo and it gives extra xp to your character just because you are so cool.

I bought it and the Steep Olympics DLC with some filler to get right at 9000 Zgold.  Got me about $5 in blue coins and then 9000 zgold got me 22K in zsilver which I used for $15 in Amazon GCs.  So 90-20 means that for $70 I got FC5 Gold, Steep expansion and a few other random things.

It's like console level goofy, but the best deal in PC gaming.

Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

Anyone know if Steam Cards are going on sale this Black Friday?

Not likely anything impressive. As mentioned Fry's will sometimes offer a slight discount, but you have to have a Frys near you to take advantage. Target has done sales on them too, but its a similarly slight one and is also in store only, so YMMV.

I find the best way to stock up on wallet at below $ value is peer to peer. There's always people offering X of wallet or gift cards they dont want for a percentage of Paypal. Typically on places like Reddit (SteamGameSwap and GiftCardXChange subreddits). You can transfer doing the marketplace swap where you put an item (non-commodity) up for the price of the wallet you're receiving and the person with the wallet "buys" the item for that price. Obviously if you're looking for gift cards to actually give as gifts, that's not feasible.

There's a few online stores that sometimes offer discounts on them. PCGameSupply will sometimes offer discounts on them, but they're always tiny.

I think that says it all about the state of Xbox considering the game was available on PC as well.

Irrelevant now. Almost all of the Xbox Exclusives hit the PC with Play Anywhere. I think it speaks to the quality of Cuphead, although the X1 is lacking in great first party titles. It also won best visual design over every other platform's possibilities.

Good luck getting the idlemaster glitch to work. I had to dig through 18 month old steam thread posts trying to discover the secret of this supposed glitch. As far as I know, there's no way to reliably get it work, it's completely random.

It absolutely still works. I was doing it earlier in the week.

I assume you already know whether or not you have to idle games before drops? If you've ever gotten a refund, typically in the last year, you'll have a 3 hour minimum playtime rule before you can start getting drops for a particular game. Then you can get the glitch to work. It used to be 2 hours, but its now 3. This is a problem with Idlemaster since it is not being developed anymore and its only going to do it for 2.

What I typically do is I click every 2-3 seconds in between games to get it "primed", think of it like a lawnmower where you have to pull the cord to get it started. Once the drops start, then slow it down to 3-4 seconds between games. Sometimes it will "break" and you'll have to restart Steam, but you can always get it restarted. If I get impatient, I'll do batches of 5, where I'll change games quickly up to 5, wait for a few drops, and then do it again. Prime it and then fall into a rhythm. When you get to the last game in your queue, go to settings and choose a new order i.e. "Idle the games with the highest value first" etc. Just change the selection in between each pass. So if you have 20 games you're trying to get cards on, when you get to #19, switch that selection, this way it doesnt reset and you can keep the rhythm going.

If you are on a delay, Id recommend installing ASF (ArchisSteamFarm). This is generally a much better tool for idling, but the glitch I find is harder to pull off in it. What I do is do my "mass" idle in ASF so it gets a bunch of games to the time needed to start getting drops, and then I switch to Idle Master to do the glitch. 200+ cards in 15 minutes.

Here's a video on how to install ASF. Its pretty easy, but its not a regular download an exe and install situation. There's also links to DL etc. if you watch it direct on Youtube in his description.

Started Nioh, runs great for me. Solid 60 FPS, no drops, a little tearing on loading and really crazy camera changing, but not at all immersion killing. It's a pretty solid port from my perspective at least early on. There's some limitations unquestionably (espc if you're wanting to play KB+M, which I am not), but considering Koei Tecmo's track record, this is a definite step in the right direction espc if the rumors are true and the Ninja Gaiden games are headed to PC. Pretty easy to find the game at a decent price. KT is stingy with sales so I'm all in all pleased so far.

That 1070 is tempting. I'm going to stay on 1080p for a while and I can try mining. Ppl on SD are saying $40-45 a month?

Mining on one GPU isn't really cost efficient. Mining also pushes the GPU very hard and you will wear it out a lot quicker. You also have to be aware of mining pool costs, electricity, and exchange fees when mining. Take that into account. Its not worth it unless you're going multi-gpus and dedicated hardware. I'm talking about Etherium btw. BTC is a straight up don't bother.

#13873986 GTX 1080 stutters - faulty?!

Posted by archibishopofBAH on 10 November 2017 - 08:38 PM

Thank you very much for the advice! In 2 days when I get home I’ll surely try it.

BTW, it’s not the FPS which bothers me. If only FPS was the issue, I would be more than sure it’s not the gpu. The most annoying issue is the freakin stutter, which means the game stops for a really really short time, and then acts like nothing happened. LoL, OW, games where the stutter shouldn’t happen. I just don’t understand why. Another issue is this screen tearing, when moving the mouse quicker to move around I see those horizontal lines on the screen, really intensively, which is also bothering af.

Right I understand, you need to see if it happens in better optimized games too and definitely in the benchmarks. If it happens in those, then you most likely have a problem. What you're testing on is important. If you're testing it in badly optimized games, its bound to happen. I get occasional stutters like that in PUBG, but its server related 99% of the time. Watch Dogs 2 is also not optimized extremely well. You just have to do a lot of trial and error testing. Settings may be more sensitive in some games more than others.

Try games like Doom. These are cream of the crop titles in respect to wide ranging functionality. If those cause same problems, then you need to look deeper.

EVGA 1070 FTW for $399 at Newegg probably the lowest it has been since the mining craze started.  I am tempted but if I am going to get a 1440p monitor it might be wise to just spend the extra hundred and get a 1080 on sale.

You already have your answer. Get the 1080.

Just to add to the website crashing fun, GMG is giving away free games every six hours here:

https://www.greenmangaming.com/vip/

Must have account, log in, etc.  When I tried, it just kept giving me errors, and when it finally worked I missed the free game.  Of course.

They have some decent coupons.  20% off PUBG and Cuphead and a few other things.

The first game was Save The Ninja Clan. I didn't get it either, but owned it already anyway. I never saw it live, but they mentioned it when someone asked on Facebook while the site was down when the sale first launched.

I wouldnt be surprised if they've delayed the launch of the free game and we see that sometime soon. There were login errors for the first 45 minutes. I've not read anyone confirm that they got it.
