#14280735 Death Stranding Collectors Best Buy

Posted by merkman on 13 April 2020 - 04:53 PM

So I'm a Metal Gear fan, though I've only finished 1 and 2 I think.  The games are so massive, I generally haven't finished them... despite the amazing stories.

I bought Death Stranding realizing it wasn't a first person shooter, but the concept sounded interesting and the story seems good.  I didn't mind the slow start, I knew what I was getting into.

That said, I've had trouble saying away from the "bad guys" once I go up into the mountains and I HAVE to go buy them for part of the story.  My "baby" was hurt on the way up to the station, and I HAVE to go back through the same area I barely survived to get back into the story.  But I literally haven't played since, since I was frustrated with how poorly I played... or how difficult it was.

Which is ironic, cause I can take out ALL the members of a "camp" without much trouble.  But despite the sensor and the feeling when the "special" bad guys are around... I just can't seem to avoid them.  If anyone has any tips or suggestions, I'd love to hear them.  As I desperately want to ENJOY the game.  But it does have me frustrated.

In the meantime, I never watched Euro Football until maybe 6 months ago?  But I played Football Manager 19 on Game Pass, and went from confused, to obsessed.  I now play Football Manager 20 and Football Manager 20 Touch, as well as FIFA on Xbox One and Switch.  I'm really enjoying those sports games, as if I'd always played them.  I'm a big Madden, MLB The Show, and NBA 2K guy, so I suppose branching out isn't totally unexpected.  But safe to say "transfers" instead of the "trades" I'm used to in US sports, let alone promotion... it's a whole new world!  ;)

I'll try to help, but haven't had much luck myself fyi.  Here goes...

So you setup your account for GPU.  Whether that's through a 3-month card from CDKeys or wherever.  But you want to be setup and USING GPU before you add any more "time".

If you look on CDKeys (just an example), their 3-month GPU cards are for new acocunt "trials" only.  So you can't add those to your existing Game Pass Ultimate subscription.  So that's where folks were suggesting you buy the 3-month Game Pass codes for $9-$10, and while they don't redeem for 3 full months of GPU, it's supposed to be the cheaper way to add GPU time to that subscription.

However, I tried that, and the codes I got from CDKeys wouldn't add time. They said something about only being good for a trial, despite NOT being the GPU keys that were known to have issues.  Dunno if MS found that "work around" and closed it, only know I bought several CDKeys codss, but only the first one I redeemed worked.  (Emailed CDKeys about what happened, and they refunded EVERY code I didn't use... top notch company.)

The theory is if you buy 3-month Xbox Live / Gold cards... I THINK those will add on.  But with all the trouble I had above, I haven't tried it yet.  And those will redeem for less time than the GP cards do.  (Someone will correct me if I've got that wrong.)

Hope that helps!

Except Balor was in NXT, and afaik James Ellsworth never was.

Though true be told, I'm not sure why Ellsworth is on Smackdown, OR has a T-shirt.  I'd have though the WWE learned from WCW's mistakes.

Few strange listings...

:ps4:  WWE 2K17 NXT Edition $154.32 VG (Should be a James Ellsworth and not a Finn Balor statue)

It was around $72 few days ago and then it shot back up a day later.

for pc anyone?

:pc: http://amzn.to/2cx0daD (LN) $75.06 (N) $83.40

Yup.  Thanks man.  I saw this on the front page of CAG a few minutes ago and immediately went for it.  I think that statue is cool, and I've got a Gigabyte 1080 G1 coming.  Plan on installing that in my Alienware Graphics Adapter, running it on my Alienware 17 R3, and gaming in 4K on my internal LCD sceen.  I'm sure Mirror's Edge will look awesome at that resolution!  :)

Thanks OP!

I had just commented in the AWD thread that if I could get the Collector's for under $100, I'd love to get the statue and other goodies.  At this price, I was ready to break down and get it.  Plus, it gives me something else to try out with my Alienware 17 R3 and the Gigabyte 1080 G1 I have coming sometime soon!  Thanks so much!

So I'm being a lazy a$$ gamer, and asking without looking.  Now that emulators have come so far along, anyone made a N64 to USB adapter to use the real controller with your computer and emulator?  I had JUST gotten my N64 hooked up to a 24" LCD with old Logitech speakers to play WWF No Mercy, and then realized between emulators and updated versions of the game using current wrestlers, emulation is where it's at!

Thanks.  I considered getting this on PC as part of a Just Cause 3 / Rise of the Tomb Raider bundle for about $50.  But I already had Rise on Xbox One, and decided though the graphics were probably better on PC, I couldn't justify the re-buy.  But I've never played any of the Just Cause games, heard all good things about 3, and at $15 it's not the bigger investment $60 is.  Done.  :)

Many thanks to all those who post here and help CAG's like me find deals.

A couple weeks ago, I finally hit AWG while there were 4 Xbox One Elite controllers available for $94 each.  God knows I'd said I wouldn't spend that much on a controller, and I had no business buying another one, but it was a weak moment and I jumped on it.

Controller arrived in the original box, with everything but the original double AA batteries.  Pouch, USB cable, etc.  Having bought 2 Xbox One Plug and Charge kits when they were on sale at GroupOn, I immediately threw a battery in there and charged it up.  Next day, I renamed the controller, changed the default button configs back to Default, and tested it.  The build quality is SO nice, and everything seems to be working great.  I didn't "play" any games, as much as I was navigating around in Madden's GM mode, but I love it.

Thanks again to everyone here.  You guys rock!!!
