Was mentioned in xbox pre-order thread -- amazon has 25% cash back on xbox gift cards if you have prime visa or just prime store card -- limit 2 (may be per denomination of card?)

So this is confirmed on the multiple logins?  I'm surprised they are allowing it, but it's great for my family that all share several consoles and have digital games owned by various people.

I don't fully understand your issue with BC and Xb1 no longer working at the same time.  I guess since BC uses a different system that must cause the conflict.  I assume it still works if one person is on the "home" console, right?

I'm not surprised that a change like this also cut into sharing features like you mentioned.  Quite frankly, Microsoft is so much more "generous" on the whole sharing issue than Sony or Nintendo, so I don't blame them too much.

Sorry was't clear on my original post my situation is a bit different and probably won't affect many others,  the current way it works right now with 1 on the home console and the other user logged in to the account and online still works as it always has -- my situation is a bit different because we have 3 XB1's -- previously I could buy a game on my account -- my son (on my home xbox) can play any game I own (and game pass etc..) while I was logged in to my account and online I could play any game I own - my daughter on a 3rd xbox could log in with her account and log into my account (that would log me out briefly) she could then start a BC 360 game and then I could log back in and my daughter could continue to play her 360 game (it would log me out of her XB1 but her game would still be fine) - now if I start a game after she has started a 360 BC game instead of just logging me out of her XB1 it kicks her out of her game.  The change does allow 1 account to be logged into multiple non home XB1's but only of those people can play any type of game (the other can watch netflix/hulu, etc - but as soon as both are running a game of any type you get a nice message and somebody has to exit (since this was supposedly added because of xbox cloud streaming not sure if that will behave differently and that will be like an app?) .  I agree MS is way more generous for sharing than sony or nintendo just disappointed we lost that "feature" -- I really wish they would bring back the family gold option at a slight premium -- too bad that got abused way too much

tl/dr = sharing works the same as always (and actually better for non game apps)  unless you have 3+ consoles

Sigh. And again, nothing there that doesn’t appear to be on PC or PS4/5. My only concern would be a scenario where I can’t play a really good game because it’s Series X exclusive and won’t be playable anywhere else. I don’t see that happening for the next 6 months to a year and definitely not at launch.

I’ll probably grab a Series X when Halo launches.

Sigh...and again

Quit posting factually inaccurate stuff or changing what you mean after the fact -- I know spreading false information is in vogue these days but put a little effort into what you post.  And if you want something that can only be played exclusively on the next generation then X-Box probably isn't for you -- Pretty much everything we'll be available on other platforms (PC for the most part)

On a totally unrelated subject -- has z-saber posted lately? really could use on his useful posts about now

Where have you heard that, because that goes against almost everything I’ve read. Do you have some examples? I know significant enhancements exist, but Microsoft has been clear that games will continue to play on Xbox One and PC.

Seems like there’s uncertainty on the topic -

https://www.theverge...ext-gen-promise

Seems like the Medium is one example, but it will also be available on PC. Have any Series X console exclusives been confirmed?

Not much uncertainty...(the article you linked is 2 months old and talks about microsoft first party games)

To be clear these are not all exclusives but there is a next gen version that can only be run on the next gen hardware

My main point ... if you have a 1X and are planning to upgrade, go with the Series X. Paying the extra $ will get you more value in the long run.

Personally I’m happy with my 1X, I see no need to upgrade but if I did, it wouldn’t be to an SS. And remember, there are no “next gen” games on the Xbox side in this new generation. At least not for the next year or two.

A game may look slightly better on a SS because of new architecture but it will always look best on a Series X (or PC). Touting whether the X1 or SS is better is like arguing over who will come in second. But if you can find an X1 for $150 or $200 as people sell them, then that might get you through the next year or two while you save for a Series X instead of a Series S.

Not to be that guy but again... there will be immediate next gen games on the xbox side -- 3rd party next gen games (just no first party ones)

and it's able to upscale games to 4K.

again it upscales 4k games as well

Upscaling isn’t true 4K ... an X1X hits 4K for around 80% of its games. Not sure what’s unclear. The SS will be fine, but I don’t think it will exceed the capabilities of the X1X ... it’s not designed to, it’s the successor the the Xbox One S.

Wrong. Series S upscales games to 4k if you have a 4k TV.

SS maxes out at 1440p, so I believe you’re mistaken.

What's unclear is you saying someone was wrong for saying it upscaled to 4k -- when it clearly does (no one said it did true 4k)

https://www.windowsc...pport-4k-gaming

It upscales to 4k:

That isn't saying the Xbox Series S is a slouch. While you won't get true 4K gaming or the crispest textures, the Xbox Series S can still play next-gen games with a targeted 1440p resolution (making the Series S awesome at 1080p) at up to a buttery smooth 120FPS, the same as the Xbox Series X. Not only that, but hooking up the Xbox Series S to a 4K TV doesn't mean your TV is wasting its potential. The Xbox Series S can still handle 4K movies through streaming platforms like Netflix or Microsoft Movies & TV, and it's able to upscale games to 4K.

I do have a coaxial in that room (used to be cable tv till I cancelled it)...but that price....ouch. Still an option though.

I use that exact MoCa and it is pretty amazing -- I've tried powerline, mesh, several wifi extenders (with different modems) and the MoCa out performs all of them -- it's pretty close to being hardwired right to router

Was this actually from Amazon? Or was it a third party seller? There was a stretch a few years back where sellers out offer huge discounts on items but never ship- basically a way of getting names, addys and phone #s.

this was actually Amazon and the codes were added to my account instantly
