It's nice you guys finally got another podcast out.  My morning commutes were getting dull.

"ship, you should watch Going Clear"

"I'm not going to watch that."

Yeah it's weird to hear an engineer (which Shipwreck is right?) not want to learn about the world.  There's more to the world than just video games and helicopter engines    ;)

Congrats on 400 episodes!

I still enjoy your goofiness:

RE: Battlefield Hardline

Cheapy: ... the best part of the game is being a passenger in a car ...

Shipwreck: ... there's a lot of stealth stuff ... I just want to shoot people ...

Wombat: ... I'm pretty sure that's not how police officer-ing works ...

Hooray it looks like the podcast files are fixed again!  No more having to re-export them so they play in my car / Sync.

In most loot games, you always have the issue of people duping / hacking items.

I would not be surprised if the reason you usually have to go to the Citadel Tower, is to lock down the transactions that can generate rare (i.e., useful) loot and thus keep control over the games "loot economy".

The Tower stuff is probably all server-side so doing it there means they can cheat a bit with using the client side to do things in the main "story" world (aka its co-op and not competitive since loot is instanced to each user to prevent loot stealing).

I have to agree with Shipwreck on Destiny.  Wombat's "merge all problems into the 'lackluster story' umbrella" so that they can all be patchable was silly.
