#14533634 The 2023 Gamestop Thread

Posted by topchief1 on 25 May 2023 - 01:26 PM

Could this be the customer Gamestop executives have been waiting for the whole time?

If you are only using it for eshop credit, I wouldn’t renew it. If they close the store(s) near you, gas & time to redeem that monthly $5 will not be worth it.

Not to mention, they've already tried taking away the ability to use it on that kind of purchase before, and only stopped because of backlash and have already increased the amount you need to buy to use it, you know they are probably going to try that again at some point.

For the record, I like Doug and thank him for coming here to answer questions.

I'm close enough to go to store events on occasion, and he's always been incredibly nice and friendly in person as well. If imagine that in spite of all of the issues with running the business, none of it is personal.

Sometimes I question just how moronic GameStop can be.

When they cease to exist, everyone will claim it's due to the death of physical games, but we will all know it's because of thier contempt for thier customers and employees, and mind bogglingly awful business decisions. Sort of like blockbuster.

#14532662 Walmart YMMV In Store Clearance Thread I (READ THE FAQs)

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are showing up as $9.88 on Brickseek.

I haven't seen any 3DS games at Walmart in years though so YMMV.

I saw a copy of Farming Simulator 18 last week.

Its the 10% pro bonus on the base value of the games.

Yeah, I traded in four games and it says $26.10 for all but one which was a dime more, for some reason.

Anyone else get a $5 cert email? Because I sure as hell haven't been buying anything from best buy lately.

That's a bummer. They have Nixxes now, one of the better developers of PC ports. Why would they hire Iron Galaxy, one of the most infamously bad developers of PC ports, to handle the first game in their flagship franchise?

Probably some combination of the following words: cost, fraction, of the, do it, we'll, for a.

Pro controller would have been far more desirable is they hadn't decided to make one of the handles randomly white

At this point, I’d only turn my Wii U on for Wind Waker HD. The other top games were ported to or have sequels on Switch.

That's why I just roll my eyes when people claim to be going for a full WiiU game set.   Outside of a handful of desirable titles due to either rarity, or inability to port to the switch, most of the good stuff will largely be not very valuable for collecting because of so many games being ported to the switch.

All valid discussion, and how the discussion should go.

Now grab salsa data for each release, overall market, total cost of production, total revenues, and total profits, all normalized and I'd bet solidly it's higher profits overall than earlier titles.

I'll be the first to admit the data shows that the salsa has gotten both hotter and chunkier, but that doesn't mean the cost of the chips has also increased.

I was one of those vita game buyers. Over a dozen with hole punched upcs covered up with a price sticker.

And if you don't want the sticker on, but don't want to open it yet? Have fun, I've never dealt with Price sticker harder to remove than LRG.
