#14496765 Nintendo eShop Deals and Discussions

Ok, this is weird...as I said earlier my left joycon doesn't have drift, but movement in Pikmin 3 is herky jerky, and now I discovered when trying to move through the shop in Mario Odyssey, it doesn't always want to go right. Problem is though, out of the like ten games or so I've played, those are the only instances of there being an issue. Like I can't move through the shop normally, but when I exit...Mario controls just fine in all directions.

Buddy, if that ain't drift, you might honestly have something interrupting the wireless signal

I have a confession. Games with the option to be stealthy kinda break my brain.

plz halp

Deathloop compared to Arkanes previous games is way more action heavy. In designing it they realized casual players got choice paralysis from all the abilities/options and ended up doing the slow unfun stealth thing you described.

Deathloop's scale and structure encourages you try everything and die quickly, which means you can get in many scuffles more than being sneaky and come out on top. Getting "seen" won't follow you from area to area like a metal gear game, so yeah get in fights. Over fine you'll find ways to enter areas besides crouching behind boxes or jumping over rooftops just through rapid repetition and learning.

By design, it is Arkanes most accessible game and the gameplay absolutely reflects that

Just got a Switch, I never paid attention to this thread or the eshop, but do first party titles go on sale often? What about Black Friday? I'd like to get Animal Crossing digital but have enough stuff right now to tide me over until something happens.

Black Friday is your best bet. As others mentioned, 30% is the average but last year a bunch of physical/digital games were marked down to $27 each on GameStop. Keep an eye out when big sales go live and sometimes you can snag a BIG discount

Far out, thanks. I've had Apple TV for like 2 years now and I think I've only ever paid for two months of it at this point

I finally got a PS5 from Amazon, it arrives on Sunday. This is my first Playstation console ever. I never had a PS3 or PS4, but I’ve had Switch, PC and Xbox. What are my must plays? I have Gamepass on Xbox so I probably won’t get the PS+ equivalent one, I’m mostly looking to play first party stuff like Spider Man and Horizon.

Depending on the speed at which you play games, at least PS+ Extra might be worth your time tbh. If you are actually someone who skipped PS3 and PS4, pretty much all the notable exclusives are available through that for the price of a single game or two. I've always said PS Now wasn't worth it unless you completely skipped PS3, so honestly you stand to gain the most by using it, unless you're someone who refuses to "not actually own a game"

I meant on modern TV. The PS2 has crappy output compared to the Xbox and GameCube.

If you use component or a component to HDMI cord, you can get surprisingly solid picture out of it. I've been playing a lot of PS2 on original hardware lately that way and tbh you set it up right, it's comparable to the image you get playing PS2 on PS3.

Depends on the game tho too, PS2 games have varying native resolutions, so some just look *okay* no matter what

When it ships. You will see random pending dings on your card throughout the pre-order period.

If you order using a Red Card, I don't believe you should see those intermittent charges/holds, but if you're using a normal debit/credit card it seems to be the case that you definitely will.

Heads up, I also got a $10 off $50 card in my circle and with that turned on, most preorders stopped getting the 20% applied.

Honestly, B2G1 is a better deal than the flat 20% + Red Card, however I know lately a LOT of preorders haven't been applying to those sales, so ain't a bad idea to lock stuff in and see it comes up lower later.

The $4400-4500 BIN price for CIB on ebay is an unrealistic asking price for sure, but I knew the game must be worth something based on those and other ebay listings.

Remember, if you're checking eBay for prices, you wanna check sold/completed listings, not unsold ones, esp BIN prices. If you're trying to appraise your collection, Pricecharting is what you wanna use. It aggregates the actual average selling price based on condition.

Can't tell ya how many times someone tells "hey this SNES game is $500 online" but then a quick Pricecharting check clarifies that, actually, most copies go for $75 in the past month based on actual sales instead of an ambitious asking price.

Random excluded stuff always works at the very start of the promo. But usually for the first day to a few hours.

This. My advice is to use the wish list feature on any preorders you have your eye on and when a sale starts, run down the list and see what works. You'd be surprised what slips through on Sunday morning.

Thanks for the heads up, deal wasn't in my offers but it was listed under applicable games. Used offers for 30% + 5% + $10 off $70 + 5% red to lock in preorders for Eastward, Quarry, TMNT and Capcom Fighting Collection. Good deals on a few preorders this week.

If that was today, it looks like the sale was corrected to not include the Nintendo games. Usually they aren't apart of the sale, so imagine their inclusion yesterday was an error.

Always best to get your orders in Sunday morning before they start fixing stuff.

Managed to find the last Alan Wake in my area at an out of the way target on my drive home. Sure enough, rang up for $9. Thanks again for the tip, y'all

Hell yeah, haven't cleaned up at target like this for years. Tracked down Cadence, Arise and Tokyo Mirage Sessions and just found Tsushima DC PS4 just hanging out on the shelf w no sticker for $17. Trade in my vanilla copy to knock off the price of the PS5 upgrade and that's a pretty sweet deal. Passed on a bunch of stuff that looked cool but I just didn't need in my life.

I really dislike the way the workers assume a promo is not active. I get there is a lot of stress and stuff to remember as an employee. It seems like it would be easier to get their customers to trade in their stuff if they just had a way to pull up current bonuses on their registers.

What they're probably avoiding is telling customers there's a promo, finding out it's been stopped early or no longer applies (since this info is barely posted anywhere) and then being on the hook with an irate customer insisting they have to sell them a bunch of games with a promotion or TIV they "guaranteed" or some nonsense. Works in their favor to be surprised when a promo works
