#14324675 Nintendo eShop Deals - 11/24: Cyber Deals Sale! $40 Link's Awake...

There's the Monster Hunter announcement.  Monster Hunter Rise.  March 26.

As someone who hasn't played the Monster Hunter series, what does it play like?  Am I best off finding a cheapish copy of an older game to see if it would be for me?

EDIT: Ori and the Will of the Wisps is really good if you haven't played it elsewhere.  I liked it better than the first by quite a bit.

Monster Hunter is basically it's own style of game at this point so it's hard to say if you'd like it without trying it. I know the older ones are often on sale, in fact I think the Switch one is on sale now. And it's best to try that as the 3DS ones all control a bit wonky.

Personally, I detest the series despite trying it several times now but a ton of people love it. It does have a social aspect to it as well that entices people if they participate in online play.

Lost some sleep to THPS. It's very, very good. The Xbox One controller is a tad cramped for some of the more hectic gameplay since the d-pad isn't level with the buttons, I think the PS1 / PS2 controllers were the best bet for this series.

Then again, I got really good at THPS3 on the Game Cube, and that d-pad is worse.

LoL yea I literally bought the Gamecube version after I already beat THPS 3 on PS2 because it was like a whole new challenge on that nightmare controller.

I started THPS with the Dreamcast as well so the Xbox controller is not a problem. Really happy that they brought the HORSE mode back as that was our mode of choice back in the day.

GamePass for September is up, nothing crazy but some interesting stuff

https://news.xbox.co...september-2020/

I had been waiting to return to Destiny 2 until Shadowkeep was added to Game Pass because I never picked it up but it's only "Coming Soon". I guess that has to do with Beyond Light getting pushed back. Oh well, gives me time to talk myself out of the old Destiny addiction LoL

Hey at least you can all agree on disagreeing with me. My favorite Zelda is Zelda 2. I find the main mechanics of the series unfun and dislike most of the games.

$7.99 for Fairy Fencer and $15.99 for Mary Skelter 2. I picked up both since they are some of the few left i had been waiting on a sale for.

I don't usually complain about game prices, but the pair of Darius Cozmic Collections are obscenely overpriced.

Omega Labyrinth Life is on sale for $39.59... anyone actually play this?

It's a mystery dungeon game with extra stuff thrown in to keep you busy. Also, boobs. If you like mystery dungeon games, you should enjoy it. If you don't know mystery dungeon games, it would depend how much you enjoy boobs.

The pokemon mystery dungeon game would probably be a better starting point if you really have never played that style of game but good luck waiting on a comparable sale for that. Also, no pokeboobs.

As a person who only owns a Vita, I appreciate that Sony does not infringe upon my time by making me sort through big long lists of deals. I appreciate that they value my time rather than my money...

I shed a tear every time Working Designs is mentioned. It was amazing what effort they put in. But you knew that much extra work and stuff couldn't stand up to all the companies going for dirt cheap presentation.

Who is buying nonsense like this to make it successful enough to merit so many games?

"Bounce your ball along the curves of a crazy theme park, starring a ninja girl who thinks she's an animal! (Yep, you heard right!) ♪"

I have the import AND the localization. Imported Dead or School as well. Didn't get the Dead or Alive beach game on Switch though....because I already imported it on Vita. My appreciation for smut games goes all the way back to the C64. Some people like pointless violence and murder simulators, I prefer smut. I'll not apologize LoL

Point and click is the most tired genre there is, NO ONE understands the wit and charm of the old Sierra and LucasArts games anymore.

The only ones I can think that were kind of good were the Agatha Knife games, but DAMN they were plagued with some edgelord writing. Give me Willie Beamish any day of the week over today's stuff.

I grew up playing graphic text adventure games on C64 lol.

I remember the Perry Mason one being pretty crazy since they went through a whole trial with a booklet on how to object and what could get you objected to. Taught me law basics in my youth. Games like Borrowed Time and Fahrenheit 451 were great too.

Thanks Frisky...I'm wondering if Q-Yo Blaster is worth $2 or has it been on sale for $1 already...

Q-Yo is a great humorous Shmup game. So if you liked Parodius, stuff like that, great choice. I bought it ages ago and don't regret it.

Also, can put my word to Night Slashers as a great steal with the sale price. Really great old school beatemup that's bizarre and great fun.

Last, I might actually buy Edith Finch for Switch. I played through it on Xbone with Game Pass but it was such an amazing experience, I feel like they deserve my money.

Any recommendations for good puzzle games on sale?

Puzzle Quest is king in terms of gameplay length with all the RPG stuff adding to it. If you never played Lumines it's probably worth it but if you played it ages ago on the PSP it's still the same game.
