Thanks. I ordered the 2700x from bestbuy on sale and can return in 45 days if I dont like it so i may stick with it. If not I may get the 2600x. Mostly for gaming so I'm not sure what's the cutoff for gaming without wasting money. How is the mobo?
^ It's about a $60 difference between X and no X. Although I'm not someone who is tech savy enough to overclock with platnum grills so the more 'push button to start' simple it is, the better. Even then, would it be a noticeable difference? Both the X and non X come with the Wraith cooler. And, I guess, how much of a difference are those over the 5 2600's?
I'm seeing the Ryzen 7 2700X for around $310 at Amazon. The 2700 is only $250. Although that's without factoring in tax which I believe Amazon now collects in most states.
For review, the prices on Amazon as of right now are:
7 2700X: $310
7 2700: $250
5 2600X: $190
5 2600: $160

I think I'm leaning to the zotac 1070ti at newegg. 380 plus I wanted to monster hunter anyhow
Let me know what you find/decide on, those are about the same cards I am looking at as well. Been putting it off since whenever I upgrade one part I tend to get too caught up in it all and end up upgrading everything.

People were also being stupid too. Like buying the games at gs and trying to trade them back in during the same transaction. Not even taking them to another store. I remember a cag heard someone say "I don't need a bag since I'm trading it back in".
Sorry for this can I get a tl;dr of the saga? Basically widespread flipping back and forth between B&M businesses to an extreme degree?

None of the hardware you describe is old enough to have problems running those games. My first guess would be video driver issues but random blue screens could also be the ssd, ram, mobo dying (I've had mobo ram sockets go bad). Checking the cpu, ssd and gpu temps while idle, web surfing and gaming would be a good first start. Try samsung's ssd magician software to check that angle. If not that, an unstable power supply is next on the list.
Does that MSI vid card come with a turbo boost switch on it? I have an 8gb version but don't remember if it does. A problem with the RX 480s was they pulled too much power from the pcie bus on the mobo. I had no end of random problems with a sapphire card that had a factory turbo mode and base mode that was controlled by a switch on the card. Originally I thought it was the older known cranky motherboard as the main problem. Dropped the clocks to normal speed via that switch and the card was stable after that. Also some newer vid cards have a switch on them for uefi bios or non uefi based motherboards.
Good advice. I ran the Samsung software and my ssd is fine. Have a corsair 800w ps since I used to have about 5 hds connected so I doubt thats the problem. I'll try the ram sticks individually and check for that switch on the video card.

I thought someone had recently posted on the forum that Gamestop was planning to reduce their store space for games so they can put more toys/gadgets out. Seems like a bad move on their part. Just in the past month I've had several games in my cart but even when I buy over a certain $$ amount they never offer free shipping on new items so I ended up passing because just about everyone else will give you free shipping if you spend $50 total or whatever. I'm not paying to be an Uber Elite Pro Superstar member just to get free shipping. Add in the fact that half the time a new game comes used, they don't get much of my business. It's no surprise to me that they aren't doing well.
What if....GS is trying to take over the toy store space that Toys R Us is leaving?
