Which is exactly why tape decks and VCRs are so sought after.

uhh you are kidding right? tape decks and VCR's are worthless! Or were you being serious and they suddenly shot up in value as well?

A few more finds this week for me:

Battletoads (Genesis) complete in amazing condition - $3

Resident Evil Director's Cut :ps1: complete in amazing condition - $3

Catbert plush - $.50

And the surprising find of the week is a brand new in blister Olympus J300 microcassette recorder for $3.99.  I almost passed over on first glance, but decided to look it up on Amazon:  http://www.amazon.co.../dp/B00005LM8G/

I listed it last night and it just went pending a few minutes ago.  Fingers crossed the sale goes through, because that will make my week!  And it just sold.

wait...what? When did microcasette recorders become so valuable? Don't they sell these in Best Buy for like $20 still?! I still have one from a few years ago when I was in college. What am I missing here?

I recently turned 30 and Pogs came out right when I was in their key demographic. I would guess there may even be 31-32 years olds into them. They came out when I was in 5th grade I believe. Even back then they were worthless, you could go in the "everythings a dollar" store and get like 20 of them for a dollar. The only ones that might be worth anything I can think of are the official Simpsons ones (if you have the whole set) or maybe some of the OJ Simpson ones, which pretty much everyone had their "OJ In The Slammer/Don't Squeeze the Juice" slammers back then

Anyway yard sale season was pretty much over around the end of August here, but then out of nowhere in late September up till even right now there have been more than ever. I am guessing its a lot of people that waited till the last minute to have a sale. I got too used to sleeping in on Saturday, coupled with the fact that my closet is literally packed to the brim with stuff I've already found this year and need to sell off, I just don't want to deal with it anymore. The last one I went to, the ad just said "video games", which the resellers here are always too dumb to check. So I get there about 10 minutes early....nothing....then another car with some old guy shows up.....then another one.....then ANOTHER one. Then 15 minutes after the sale was to have started, they all start leaving. I email the guy who posted the ad and he fuckin writes back "oh sorry, we woke up late....we sold all the video games yesterday". And the kicker is I emailed this guy literally 10 MINUTES after he posted his yard sale ad the day before and asked if I could come look at the games and got no reply. I just said forget it, I've got enough crap to deal with...all you scummy flea market guys can fight over your "mario and zelder nintenda tapes"

I dont know wtf is going on....literally had zero run-ins or problems with resellers all summer, but now all of a sudden near the end of yard sale season, they are all coming out of the woodwork. I remember yard sales going strong till mid October last year, but already now there are barely any sales. There was ONE sale this weekend that just mentioned "video games". Usually the resellers never show up to these because they're too dumb to even look for them, they usually only hit the ones that advertise "nintendo" or something specific. Well I get to this one about 20 mins early and right after I get there some old fat guy in a broke down pickup truck full of garbage pulls up....then 5 mins later another even older guy in an even crappier truck pulls up. No one comes out of the house and eventually they both leave. I text the seller and of course they "overslept" (seriously f**k these people....you can't get by 9am?! I'm so sick of dealing with that every weekend) and you guessed it....they already sold all the games yesterday! And the real kicker is I actually emailed them 2 days prior, about an hour after it was listed, and asked if I could come see the games (I hate to do that because I hate when others do it but you pretty much have to now just to compete), so someone must have emailed them like 2 seconds after they posted the ad and bought everything. Drove around all day and only found 5 total sales and heard "oh yeah I have an old Nintendo....but I'm keeping that" at every sale. Ugh, I think I'm done for the rest of the year!
