Question about Root Letter
(in the current psn sale for $9)

Is this the same base game as Root Letter Last Answer? Or is last answer a sequel? I know nothing about these but picked up Last Answer recently. TIA

Figures. I "accidentally" walked out with the Pokemon Amiibos in one of their stores while it was busy last week and they didn't even notice. I tried to trade them in to another store and they told me that they no longer accept Amiibos and haven't for years. They also said I couldn't trade them in unopened anyway even if they did take them because they might be stolen and are not allowed to take in unopened games even. Oh, the irony. If only they knew.... I guess I'll have to dump them on Craigslist because I have no space for toys.

So for those of you who use "In Stock Trades" on the regular, do they offer any kind of Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals, or do they just stick to their normal low prices year round and call it a day? I had a book I was eye balling for purchase, but didn't want to jump in if there's a chance for a possible discount over the next week.

Both. And the Zelda BotW DLC rings up properly in store, thankfully.

Has anyone here ordered artbooks from instocktrades, and if so, what was your experience like? I've seen them mentioned on other forums as a good place to order graphic novels/manga from, and while browsing, noticed that they carry some video game artbooks from publishers like Dark Horse and Udon. Their prices are very good, too.

GCU apparently doesn't apply to the early access prices.  Pssh, this sale, then.

Yeah, fangamer is allowing people that purchased (like me) to exchange out on the 2nd run. The DLCs have been free but the last one released last year well before the physical was even announced.  Here is the full response:

 

As you’ve noticed, a slightly older copy of Hollow Knight was printed to the first batch of Nintendo Switch game cards due to a logistical error. While the game is fully playable and includes 3 of the 4 DLCs, a free 1.7GB update must be downloaded to access the 4th DLC pack, “Godmaster”. We’re sorry for the disappointment.

The next print run of the game will have the 4th DLC included on the card itself. We cannot yet say for sure when this batch of games will be available, though we anticipate sometime around August.

•If you bought from Fangamer and would like to return your copy, we can offer you a full refund. Alternately, if you’d like to exchange for one of the updated game cards, please let us know and we’ll send you a one-time email notification when the new cards are available for exchange.

• If you bought your game from a North American retailer, you can hang on to the game and your receipt; in the future we will offer the ability to exchange a copy for one with the patch included. I just reached out to Fangamer on this, since this is the first I've heard of it, and I'm not entirely thrilled with their response.  Apparently if I want to have my copy exchanged to receive what was originally advertised, I'm responsible for paying to ship the game back to them to cover their error.  I also have to sacrifice the first edition cover, as I'll only receive the standard edition in return.  Lame.

I'm also interested in the upcoming Neon Genesis Evangelion: TV Animation Production Art Collection, but waiting for a better price. Cheapest I see it now is from RS for $30 + $5 shipping. Released in Japan in 2015. Hopefully this release includes English translation rather than dropping the text altogether.

The sample pages Udon posted have translations of all the designer notes, and one of the translators who worked on the project also confirmed that everything is completely translated on Twitter.

I for one would like a Crono / Magus 2 pack, but I know that's never happening. :P
