#13515741 Black Friday 2016 Video Game Deals - The Epic Master Thread

Posted by EeveeFanboy on 10 November 2016 - 06:39 AM

Black Friday has been getting worse and worse, and this year seems like no exception. Like half of the video games are two years old and almost all of them are literally the same price they were last year. wtf? And technically they're more expensive since GCU doesn't work.

Looks like I'll only pick up some Wii U games and maybe Bravely Second. All of the PS4 games are repeats except for the ones that are $30+ multiplats that I'd rather pick up on Steam. Maybe Ratchet and Clank for $1 cheaper than GCU is worth it...

I figured electronics and video games would be the one thing to change this year, but all I notice is the same stuff from last year excepting TVs being even cheaper, and I don't remember hoverboards or drones in last year's ads. Best Buy has the Phantom 4 for the same price as the Mavic Pro. Really? At least Walmart has the Phantom 3 for an actual good deal.

Holy shit! I just won. Had Taco Bell four times. $20 saved me $380. Thanks Taco Bell. Woke up at 6:15 EST each time to enter for it. I remember that one Taco Bell promo years ago. I don't remember how many times I entered that one and won nothing.

And the GOTY Edition looks like

Looks like they were trying to top that one Batman boxart. C for effort, but I can still see the car on the front. They should really have put a few dozen more quotes on it. Maybe put them in rainbow colors to grab people's attention.

As someone currently studying abroad to improve my French, Influent kind of interests me. I'm guessing it really couldn't do anything for my French, but I'm looking to start teaching English in either Japan or Korea next year, and I know neither of those languages. But I tried Rosetta Stone for a little while and found it really to not do very much, so I'm iffy on learning a language outside of a classroom environment. Has Influent been out long enough for anybody to really say if it's worth it or not? I could do so much with those 5 bones if I don't get the bundle for this "game." Then there's the problem of which of the two languages I'd choose. I'm more interested to learn Japanese because vidya games, but I'd rather go to Korea.

True CAGliness: refreshing a web page for 10 minutes seeing if the price drops a few cents when it actually costs more to wait due to the influx of new cards lowering the price from 50 cents to 15.

Mostly picked up this bundle because Kairo was on my wish list, and with so many of the games having Steam cards, seemed like an easy choice. Bionic Dues seems pretty fun. Didn't expect anything from it, but it seems to have a good bit of depth for a roguelike. Now if only I understood what to do against those robots that are able to 1-shot me from a pretty far distance without wasting all of my stealth...
