Just a friendly reminder for those still trying to get one and can't make store launch:
Switch will be available launch day from PRIME NOW
This is where I'll likely get it, since I cancelled my GameStop Gray JoyCon order. Hopefully they have plenty of Neons available at Amazon.

This is why I don't understand why people get so excited over physical versions. The second it went physical, the price likely jumped $10. Digital only can be cheaper, because the digital version doesn't have to be in parity with physical as to not hurt retailers, and it doesn't incur cartridge costs.
Rather pay the 10 extra dollars but actually own the game.

As tempting as this deal is, it seems like the PS4/XB1 games in this deal will likely drop in price within months. I bet games like Ghost Recon will be $40 at BB in a few months, and with GCU, this deal is so-so.
Best picks in this deal are GR Wildlands, Horizon, and maybe Nier.
With that line of thinking no one would ever pick up a game at release date, since most of them (except Nintendo and Call of Duty ones) go down in price after a month or so. But some games are worth paying full price (or GCU price) for. Like BotW, Horizon and (hopefully) Mass Effect: Andromeda. These games are events, and it's nice to be able to talk about them when they're hot.
And some games you also just want to support the dev, like with NieR since it's made by Platinum Games.
That's why this buy 2 get 1 free deal is so good since so many good games are out at the moment.

Former employee. I can spend all day telling you stories about idiotic customers who tried every trick in the book to abuse policies or do shady stuff.
A lot of people are shady. But GameStop as a company is as well. No tears for them from me.

I wonder if this means that a day one patch might be available for BotW that will take advantage of this higher performance and the framerate issues will therefore be solved. Hope that's the case.

SpoilerI went thru quite a few of the videos on ur link.
Now I come from a PS4 and Xbox world. I just got the galaxy and pikachu 3ds xl.
Having never played it bf and going by the pix, it seemed that the button setup would be like the other manufacturer ones, but the a and b are interchanged making it more challenging. I like the 3ds and am just getting to know it.
Anyway, it seems kinda funny to see grown people holding such a small controller, especially in two player mode. That's why I ordered the pro.
Or seeing to grow people staring at the unit on a coffee table during play.
I don't get a lot of things Nintendo does with its system, like the random tn screens versus ips ones. I believe the units I have r tn Bc they both look the same, so I don't think I can comment on the others qualities. On the other tread for pikachu 3ds, someone commented that they thought it would make more sense to sell both and those that want the ips should pay more money for their units.
Stuff like that, not including wired connection for internet, not supplying power supplies and I believe the switch is 4k, but I believe it doesn't have a disc option, I haven't seen anybody show it off in videos, nor does it look big enough to have one.
What I'm saying is compared to the other systems, Nintendo goes by the beat of a different drummer and doesn't want to be mainstream.
After having the 3ds xl in my hands in the last days, I can't wait to get my hands on the switch.
- Yeah, if you're used to an Xbox controller, the Nintendo one will get some getting used to at first. The way the buttons are inverted will mean there will be some mistakes while your brain gets used to the new button positions.
- Yeah, Nintendo using both TN and IPS screens is one of their bad decisions. Nintendo not supplying chargers with their 3DS systems is another one. Only the most ardent fanboy would deny this.
- The Switch doesn't have 4K. The screen on it is 720p, and when docked it's usually 1080p, or upscaled to 1080p.
- It also doesn't have a disc drive. Cartridges are now better, though. They load games faster.
- Yep, Nintendo definitely goes by the beat of its own drum. Which has its pros and cons.

Here is where Reggie alludes to a Metroid coming out before this time next year. https://youtu.be/mLAu113idcs?t=8m36s
I recommend watching the whole interview, though. Very informative, and Reggie actually admits how certain things went wrong with the Wii U.

Anyone think Nintendo would partner up with an indie developer to create a 2D Metroid for the Switch? They clearly have no interest in making Metroid games themselves, but the demand is obviously there, as well as the growing relationship with multiple smaller developers who specialize in that type of game.
I doubt anything would be announced during their upcoming "Nindie" broadcast, but the fact they have broadcasts specifically for indie games leads me to believe it's not out of the question.
In a GameSpot interview, Reggie alluded that by this time next year there will be a Metroid game out. It'll likely be announced at E3.

Do you have plans to get a pro controller, or are you mainly going to be playing in handheld mode? The signal issue has only been reported to be happening when the joy cons are removed from the console. Are these ideal solutions? Not for all, but why would you let an avoidable problem kill your enjoyment? (unless you can't, controllers are expensive) Unless it is about the principle of the thing, which we won't know for sure until the launch patches come out or Nintendo gives a statement.
And yes the controller connection thing sounds like it can be pretty crappy, but I will wait until they get a chance to fix it. The fact that it never came up in the touring events has me the most confused.
I plan to get the Pro controller later on, likely once Splatoon 2 hits. That is if the problem is fixable with a patch. I could afford the Pro controller now, but I rather wait since I'm already spending so much. Getting the Switch, the Master Edition of BotW, Bomberman R, Snipperclips, and Fast RMX at launch, plus The Binding of Isaac two weeks later. (That's not to mention games like Horizon, NieR, and Mass Effect: Andromeda on PS4.) Would rather not have to buy the Pro controller now.
And yes, if the problem isn't fixable with a patch I won't pick up the system mostly due to the principle of the thing. I'm not paying $300+ for a system that has faulty controllers. Even if there's a recall and Nintendo offers new ones free of charge. I won't support that at launch. I don't think any of us should. We shouldn't reward bad behavior.

Exactly. People allow him to keep posting here because he's polite but if wasn't then most would consider what he's been posting as trolling. It's a hype thread, if you want genuine discussion, visit NeoGaf or something
Why can't we have genuine discussion here?
And like HelloooNurse said, where in the title does it say this is a hype thread?
