#14310386 ►Best Buy: Get $10 in Rewards or eGift Card (w/Pre-Order)

Now with sluggish sales, they need to bring GCU back..........................

It's ironic for me but now that Game Pass has completely spoiled me, I don't plan to buy nearly as many games so GCU died at just the right time for me. Coincidentally, I haven't been shopping at BB since it died either. I should probably be using up those certs I have soon. . .

If they list at $600 then they didn’t learn a damn thing from PS3. I could see a launch of $450 or $500, with less for digital only. Even then, sales will not be as dramatic for launch.
Unfortunately, this means Sony will probably list at $600.

I think $499 is about right with the drive, as I'm almost certain that will be the price of Xbox as well. Amid sourcing issues and prices in flux, they don't really have wiggle room here and both systems would flatline at $600 given the state of things so they'd be better off delaying until next year if that were the case.

That said, I still haven't seen anything that would convince me to buy this year; I'm happy with my X1X and PS4 Pro with a ton of games still waiting to be played and a WoW expansion dropping in most likely November. Yeah, I won't be touching anything else for at least six months after that. If Demon's Souls is a PS5 exclusive, then I'll get one then but I very much doubt their announcement was about a holiday release and more likely a reactionary trailer to appease the clear demand for the game. I'd bet we won't see that one for another year or two.

At least Village looked fresh, taking a different spin on Resident Evil 4. That one has me the most excited out of everything shown.

Saw a makeup of a white game case on twitter that looked slick.

Also, not surprised that TLOU2 got great scores. It seems like the kind of game that is almost review proof. No one would dare give it a bad score or risk being called a troll or something.

Not quite. They're on a tight leash with what they're able to discuss which leaves out the second half of the game, aka the controversial portion so the reviews will read oddly to anyone who finishes the game in another week. They're also professional reviewers and have to look at the artistic value of a game, while pure gamers will just go in wanting a good game and expectations of continuing to follow Ellie and Joel down their path; political nonsense be damned.

That said, the actual 'game' is as I expected from what reviews have stated: does absolutely nothing to move the needle for third-person shooters and the same tired n' old environmental puzzles. It will be a trip down memory lane for me as I slog through the gameplay just for the story, and I'm seriously considering just watching a full cutscenes video instead if Sony even allows it.

At this point, I truly do wish they hadn't even made a second game.

Ugh, I was hoping someone would be able to explain why the spoilers were so bad without actually spoiling them and I think you did it. Part of me just wants to look it up and get it over with.

Eh, of the spoilers there's only one interesting aspect to explore and the rest is just stuff that anyone with half a brain could have speculated already. The circumstances surrounding the events are the only thing you could actually spoil I guess, but honestly this public outcry would have happened after the game released if there had been no spoilers. If anything, we've seen what happens when an entire fanbase does NOT like how a game ends and this at least will save a few people from wasting their money rather than demanding refunds/story rewrites after the fact.

To that end, I think it was fair this leaked and shame on Naughty Dog for being very deceptive. The studio may survive this because of Sony moneybags, but they don't deserve to at this point.

Just learned about this game via the expansion/DLC that came out and I definitely want it. Looks like it's OOS now, so I'll keep waiting.

The Last of Us Part II Ellie Edition in stock.

EDIT: Shit, OOS already.

Heh, saw that after the leaks while debating canceling mine since I'm only holding it to flip at this point.

I looked at the spoilers and I don't care TBH, the gameplay of the first game was trash and the only reason I don't hate it is for the excellent storytelling. The moment they announced TLOU 2 and showed Ellie with no Joel, I was over it. He was the centerpiece and the only character I'd return for. Once they showed he'd be in the game in some fashion, I was on board but with the reservation that it wouldn't be a happy ending. Game of Thrones was a steady reminder that in order to love a story these days, you can't be upset when bad things happen.

Those overseas steels are worthy of the $35 price tag we have over here. Love the move from Disney to put Onward out now; a real power move to shit on retail who has been gouging us for years. I would love to see that happen more often going forward.

Apparently Best Buy is doing an early release for FFVII Remake between 3PM - 6PM local time on April 9th.

Lol, they might as well have released it today. Not like it isn't out all over the place already.

Sounds like BS to me. The game is done and they are likely just going to manufacture it anyway and sit on it. They must be tracking Doom Eternal and are seeing weak physical sales even with shipping and curbside pickup options. FF7R will tell them how well a major exclusive will do in this situation.

Yeah, plenty of titles have made their launch dates just fine. I think it's a perfect storm of Sony being greedy for sales and sensitivity of the game's plot. Bad call IMO, but I'm not exactly excited for the game either so couldn't care less.

That's damn tempting, but then I remember MH is just grinding monsters for parts ad naseum. Really enjoyed MHW until the endgame reality hit me in the face. Then again I'm dropping $240 on the Frosthaven KS that launched this morning, so who am I to judge lol.

FYI, in case it's not already well known: the $5 monthly reward worked on a digital Xbox GC (name your amount). I only wanted a $10 GC but my store had none so they tried it on the digital codes and it worked. Next month I'm going to see if they can go as low as $5 for a code and not have to spend anything lmao.

May not be worth getting the games coming out but if you have had ps+ for years without a subscription you would lose all access to those games....

And that is the greatest crime of PS+ that the games they give out are sometimes decades old, and yet you still don't get to keep them when your sub ends. GWG isn't like that for last gen games; they're yours permanently. I feel like PS+ has for far too long become this draconian system holding people hostage to a sub that doesn't really provide much else than online MP. People expect shit at this point so they aren't surprised or let down anymore. I'm glad GPU exists now because otherwise, we will never see change from Sony and that's the same shit that cost them a generation ago. Sad they're so fucking predictable.

Lowest I've ever seen and so not worth it to me now that Game Pass is dominating. Bought four months of GPU for $18 instead.

Pretty sure this November I'm just going to be sitting back riding out Games Pass on X1X. I've seen zero reason to upgrade anything from anyone.
