Back to gaming, I gotta say I am really enjoying Death Stranding after not expecting to. Being a delivery man is strangely addicting.

The game is a 40-50 hour game, and it just came out a few hours ago. Already there are over 2,500 user reviews on metacritic (not THAT may review codes were out there!), with many of them flooding in right away to repeat the typical criticism posts you've already seen on Gamefaq-style message boards. "OMG, walking simulator, Kojima isn't god people, 0/10". The 10/10 scores aren't really valid either, but the place right now is just a pissing contest between fans who are playing the game and trolls who are trying to tank the score.
Metacritic is useless for user reviews in my opinion since any idiot can post a "review" with no proof that they've even played a game. Steam is the only place where I put any kind of stock in the user reviews.
That said, Death Stranding seems like a game one just has to experience for themselves. I was very on the fence but decided to stop reading about it and give it a shot because I was just too intrigued to ignore it. Haven't started yet due to finishing up the Outer Worlds Plat but I'm on vacation after tonight so I'll hopefully have plenty of time for DS.

Yeah I played it and it does remind you of diablo, a lot.
There are some interesting mechanics but overall, the game is bland. The maps are repeated, enemies are predictable and you quickly lose interest. I liked it for mindless fun but even so, it was not really engaging at all. I will rebuy it but for $5-$10, not more.
Yeah, I found Chaosbane pretty dull mainly because the loot doesn't really start getting interesting until the storyline is almost over. There were also glitched trophies that took months to fix
They needed an easy win since they've had no "new" games since, well, Overwatch heh. D4 and Shadowlands are likely a year or two away and investors are not happy right now.
I'm just hoping Diablo 4 doesn't take nearly FOUR YEARS to come out similar to the time between Diablo 3's announcement and actual release.

Looks like you can place multiple orders and still get the free gift card each time. Ordered Modern Warfare and Outer Worlds with the $25 GC showing up in the cart as free then put Indivisible, Concrete Genie and MediEvil along with the $25 GC in my cart and the GC is also free with that order.

Now IF that stacks with GCU, we're in business since two full price games would be $96 but may trigger the GC given the original price was over $99.
I still have GCU so I put Modern Warfare and Outer Worlds in my cart along the with the $25 gift card to test it out and the gift card does still end up being free. Also, the 10% birthday discount stacks with GCU which I don't believe it did before.
Regretting not pre-ordering Modern Warfare for the $10 cert because I could have put MediEvil and the forgotten about until now Concrete Genie with Outer Worlds for the $99.

I played those games for longer than I do any of the modern ones. That's not nostalgia, it's fact.
I played many older games a lot longer than I do today's games because I only got maybe one new game a month back then. Doubt I would have played any one game from then any longer than anything today if I could have afforded to buy multiple games a month like I can now.
Anyway, I am hyped for the PS5. Few things are more exciting than the launch of a brand new console.

From what I've played and seen, most of the actual issues (not just complaints about microtransactions), but bugs and such are fixable issues while the core gameplay is in pretty good shape. The core gameplay for Anthem however needed a revamp as bad as the original FFXIV did but it doesn't have the same fan support to help it survive long enough to get to that point.
I have until Thursday to pick up my copy so I'm probably going to wait and see if any patches drop between now and then. Give me an extra week on my Elite Plus price match window as well.

That's easy - some people check the memos and some don't. Most stores also having gaming as part of six departments now, so being able to check things like that isn't always possible.
Well the store manager or a manager on duty should be doing that every day in a properly run store if the clerks aren't doing it or are too busy. Not reading the memos can lead to a lot of dissatisfied customers as is evident on the Best Buy forums.

Yeah I'm about halfway so I can't say for sure on the main story but liked what I've seen so far. The "flavor" is really interesting to me in this weird world they've made. For sure the most I've ever actually looked at and read the contents of "collectibles".
Yeah, I already have the trophy for 120 collectibles but I keep looking for them to get more of the lore. Love the little stories about the Altered Items.
The only downsides to Control for me are the big frame drops during some of the huge battles even on a PS4 Pro and the map can be a little confusing. The gameplay is a lot of fun especially after you get all your powers. Do the frame drops happen on the X as well?

Majority is Digital > Physical unless you collect specific games (Metal Gear for me) then I understand.
And this is coming from someone who spent the last 4 years saying the exact opposite until I embraced digital purchases entirely.
The only reason I still get physical copies is because I still have GCU at Best Buy. One that runs out I will probably buy fewer games at launch and the ones I do will be digital. One big reason is that I simply don't have much more space to store physical games. Digital is just so much more convenient in my opinion as well.

I can't seem to keep up with all these season passes for Tekken 7. Saw that they have a Welcome Edition out in Japan.
Sorry, I had to share because this was the funniest thing I saw today.
I wish they would move on to developing Tekken 8 instead of cranking out DLC for Tekken 7. Probably be even longer than usual between games this time.
