#14276166 PSN Weekly Deals - 10/14: Halloween & Games Under $20 Sales!...

Predator Hunting Ground trial is up now.

Played the tutorial and one online game and it just feels super sluggish and janky. Might be that Nioh 2 and Doom Eternal have spoiled me with 60 FPS but I don't see myself buying Hunting Grounds.

Do you guys know if you change your order from In Store Pickup to Shipping does that invalidate the GCU discount? Obviously mine is expired but I had ordered FF7R with it but at this point I'm not sure it that's worth me traveling to my local Best Buy to get it but I kind of want tot keep the discount on the deluxe edition.

Thanks!

Changed 3 orders from pickup to shipping last week and kept the discount.

PSA: Just got email from Best Buy they're starting contactless curbside service starting tomorrow.

Seems like Best Buy is doing the right thing by their employees by making work voluntary, giving temporary pay raises to those that do choose to work and paying people who are home sick. Everybody that has to leave their home to work should be making time-and-a-half until this is over.

I didn’t even know codes were included. Was that for the PS4 standard version too?

Everybody that pre-ordered any edition should get one. I still don't have my code though. Pre-ordered the deluxe edition a few weeks ago and picked it up on Thursday.

How has any legitimate gamer not played TLOU?

Said this before in the PSN thread but I gave it two chances and it didn't hold my attention very long either time. I prefer solid gameplay over a strong narrative and TLoU is very lacking in the former in my opinion.

GCU running out on the 11th, got most of what I want preordered, but FF7 Remake, RE3 and Last of Us 2 remain on my maybe list.  Thinking they all would be candidates for fairly swift drops (by late summer) and would likely end up backlogged anyways.  Any real good reason to re-think that logic?

No reason not to wait if you're not planning on playing them right away. Everything I pre-ordered will most likely be played immediately.

bit on mortal kombat injustice 2 bundle and pubg.

I am having trouble getting into mk11. the characters seem so stiff compared to games like soul calibur. combos seem locked behind some type of memory game. no punch punch kick kinda simplicity.

You're probably not going to like Injustice 2 either then because it's basically the same gameplay with D.C. characters. Netherrealm fighting games have never been as smooth as something like Tekken or Soul Calibur though they have improved greatly since MK9.

I’m happy they announced the release for ghost of Tsushima. I was able to snag the Best Buy preorder before my gamer club unlock expires tomorrow. Maybe now I’ll stop spending money on games...........at least not at Best Buy.

My GCU expires on the 11th so I pre-ordered 15 games the other day and added Ghost of Tsushima this morning. I'll probably cut down on buying games at launch after GCU but I actually only ended up saving around 10% per game as opposed to getting them from the PSN store due to the ridiculous sales tax.

Ghost of Tsushima is available for pre-order in case anybody wants to lock it in before their GCU expires.

I was pleasantly surprised by Terminator: Resistance. I wasn't expecting something AAA and the graphics/voice acting occasionally seem like they're from the PS3 era, but the gunplay and story were fun enough that I can definitely recommend it for under $20.

Ace Attorney Trilogy for $14.99 is finally low enough for me to buy it a third time (originally went through all 3 on DS then again on 3DS).

Thanks for the opinion on Terminator: Resistance. I've never played the Ace Attorney games so I'm considering the trilogy as well.

Drop your list, we can tell you what’s missing.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Avengers

Doom Eternal

Nioh 2

Wasteland 3

Cyberpunk 2077

Elden Ring

Trials of Mana

Resident Evil 3

Ys: Memories of Celceta

Watch Dogs: Legion

Dying Light 2

Dead Island 2

Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2

Tales of Arise

Last of Us 2 was purposely not pre-ordered. That one will depend on if I get around to finishing the first game before release. Probably not...

Time to never make it past the first Colossus for the 4th time?

A lil excited for Sonic Forces mainly since I own Shadow already.

Haven't been excited about a Plus game for a while, mainly due to already owning most of them, but I am looking forward to Sonic Forces. Thanks to the person who posted the link to the Shadow DLC especially since it has trophies.

If you have the season pass for Fire Pro Wrestling World, the Fighting Road: Champion Road Beyond expansion written by Suda51 is out now:

Might be time to grab the Fire Pro Deluxe Edition. Bought the physical standard version at launch but didn't have time to play it then so I ended up returning it. Too bad they didn't add any trophies for the DLC.

$60 is the down payment.

You usually need to spend another $10 to $40 to get the "deluxe" version anymore.

I'm fine with the way things work now considering games have not really gone up in price over the years. Rather pay a lower price for the base game and get the DLC later at a good discount if I really like the game than only have the option of buying the "complete" game for $80 or $90.

This is why I only trophy chase when I really enjoy a game now. I used to shy away from games, or start them on some crazy difficulty or weird pistol only playthrough just for a trophy while snooping a guide the entire time spoiling everything. Take it from a level 50 on psn. (same as my cag name) Just enjoy your games for what they are before it kills you inside.

Oh I won't not play a game I really want to because it has hard trophies or use a guide to spoil my first playthrough in those games. Goat Simulator is something that would mainly be played for trophies though so I might as well wait until I can get all of the DLC cheap before I start it.

#14245688 Bestbuy: Death Stranding for $40, $32 for GCU

Stop watching cutscenes online and actually play the game. The addicting gameplay is what I personally enjoy more than the cutscenese but the story definitely starts to come together in the end. This is the best walking simulator I’ve ever played. There’s nothing like it and it’s probably my most played game this year holy crap. This game delivered. This game got the whole package.

I thought the story kinda went off the rails towards the end in typical Kojima style but it kept me interested for most of the game. I agree with everything else you said though.
