yeah, when i get to the point that i can have those top-tier cards, i'll just upgrade my chase limit and discover has been decent (with fraud protection especially). Regardless though, I think cap one is the only 'big bank' i trust in the slightest bit anymore.

OH, and for banking, I can't stress enough how good Capital One has been all around, and I've used almost every bank.  Still with Wells Fargo but mainly for my car loan.  Capital One has always given me the highest limits, most trust, never fees for overdrafts, best bonuses, and even a $100 overage limit in the checking account, which never receives a fee even if you're in the negative a bit and make another purchase not exceeding the $100 negative (otherwise the transaction just fails, still no fees).   Not to mention they are the only bank that could offer me debit cards with free, easy to manage multiple accounts, and child accounts with debit cards to have in their names.  They actually keep impressing me, but I'll stop sounding like a salesman for Capital One.  Link to signup if interested:  https://r.capitalone360.com/yRdQau34nM  definitely worth signing up.  Glad to try and offer other help if anyone needs it. Rebuilding my credit is still in progress... I really get into it lol.

The Quicksilver One, Chase Freedom, and DiscoverIT cards are the 3 main cards I was able to get with a low 500 credit score (after 1.5 years of using secured cards to rebuild).  After about 6 months you can get slight limit increases if you're in my position, but don't expect much, and definitely don't use the extra limit... just having ithat extra room drastically improves your score.   When I hit the mid to high 500's I went for some store cards.  Dick's and Amazon both use Synchrony bank, so expect the same limit if you go for those.  Best Buy uses citibank which is a bit harder to get, and I think I waited even longer for that one.  Anyhow, definitely be careful if you get started, but I still highly recommend you do.  Credit makes the world go 'round these days, and you can't take money with you when you're dead, so build it and take advantage.

I'd be glad to help with some advice, however most is obviously common sense.  Kind of in a hole now with a few store cards and not-too-high limit credit cards, but still far better a credit report than a year ago.  Expunge all bad credit with good credit, Try to keep the cards at around 15% total credit utilization (hard to stop once you start), and most importantly, make more than the minimum payment, and multiple payments per month even still.  Use the cards for a purchase and IMMEDIATELY use your cash to make the payment.  /endrant.   just making posts so i can share a link to a deal on the division i found...
