#14285880 PSN Weekly Deals - 2/10: Big in Japan Sale ends 2/25, Critics' Choice Sal...

My youngest son enjoyed Dragon Quest Builders 1 & 2 (both are on sale I believe). It's basically a streamlined Minecraft with some light combat and adventuring. It's not hard to play, but fun to build things. The first is great and the second adds the ability to fly and smooths out some of the rough edges of the first as I recall.

My 6 year old daughter really liked Journey and it is free right now. There are a few spots where your son will need help, but it is fairly accessible. Was going to try Tearaway with my daughter next. Small amounts of fighting from what I remember on the Vita. Her and her 3 year old brother take pot shots at each other already so I try and minimize games with fighting. Would be interested in other suggestions that are not sports titles. My kids like Mario Kart even though they can hardly finish a race, I know there is a Nickelodeon kart racer and a garfield one on PS4, but I suspect both would be a downgrade from M Kart.

Right but one of the entire ideas behind buying expensive physical copies is not relying on downloads.

I suspect this is an age gap thing. Some of us are old enough to remember when games were complete when you bought them (and tested, qc'd etc.). Those who grew up with last and current gen have always had to download and patch games. I would much rather get a game a year after release with patches and complete on disc/cart. This is my biggest gripe about LRG changes, because that was a "founding principle" to preserve complete games so you did not have to depend on digital patches.

Anyone else get the work from home essentials text from the app? What a pathetic attempt to justify "essential" they have had weeks and this is all they can muster...
Thanks for the laugh gamestop, no one believes you sell stuff to work from home. In two-three weeks you could have actually secured contracts and legitimately have work from home stuff to sell.

PS1-PS3 controllers were too small. PS4 and X360 controllers are the best in my opinion. I cannot get used to the hooks on the triggers of the Xone and I think that is the main reason I went from xbox to sony this generation. Last gen if it was multiplatform I bought xbox and this gen I go with Playstation.
From a form design I hope the PS5 controller is roughly the same shape. I hope the new xbox gets a redesigned controller.

Just got my monthly $5 off coupon added to my active offers. Online only

Got to love the fact that it says both "in store only" and "online only" in the fine print.

For anyone else that was confused like I was initially about Shadowgate on PS4.

LRG released the original NES version of Shadowgate on PS4 in the 8-bit Anthology collection. This version of Shadowgate is rebuilt from the ground up with new 2D graphics and design.

Anyone played this? Is it different enough to be a "new" experience for someone that has played the original multiple times?

The recent scraps of conversations in the past page are hilarious, if you read them consecutively. It's like a crack / meth addict clinic blog.

I think this is the one to ban.

been wanting to get a psp for a while, but never got around to it. What is the cheapest model that will plug to a tv and have controller support?

PSP 2000 and 3000 series have an AV out. If I remember correctly you have to use component out for games on a TV, but movies allowed composite.

(if you meant Vita, there is no AV out with the handheld)

GPG is a total scam in my mind and I am not playing along. that said I dont know how people can scratch the hell out of games in the first place. Do they take them out of the system and just throw them on the floor. Who needs the case when I can just put it in the garbage disposal for a quick spin.
wii, 360 etc you could damage on accident I guess, but how in the world can you scratch a bluray without actively trying to do it?

I'm back! Here to oversee the end of the Gamestop trading era I suppose.

Just to clear a few things up...I'm not sure why I was banned. I did reach out to Cheapy D through email and discord but I have never received any answer whatsoever as to why I was banned. My best guess is that since I was mega banned with all posts removed at the same time GS Dave or whoever was being banned yet again from the GS thread that a mod got careless and banned me as well by mistake. (Which makes it even worse that he got to spoof my name and keep coming back.)

Anyways, thanks to everyone who asked about me and got them to finally allow me back. I just wanna talk games and help people get deals.

I finally crossed the million point mark while getting the last out of GS before elite pro ended, so for that I need to thank everyone else in this thread from 2 years back who first showed me how to do all this stuff. You really helped me out a lot.

I did manage to get a Switch Lite at a clearance store for 120 so that was a good score. Glad to see everyone is cleaning up and these closings.

Good to have you back Omni

Even current and last-gen games, I have seen more go up in price than down since the end of PUR

It is okay, they are raising the prices now so they can lower them later and fulfill the promise of lower prices...

Did anyone have a Vita game in their top 3 played games on the year end stats through PSN? I am fairly certain I played Rayman Legends longer than my 2nd and 3rd games.
Also not sure how Elder Scrolls Online was not on my top 3.

New PUR = limiting your member savings to $5/month instead of uncapped % of your purchases. Hopefully it will mean more B2G2 events in the future with the new system refresh cycle coming up.

I guess normal pro members don't have the option to cancel subscriptions? Also, I read online that the new PUR will also trigger an additional $5 coupon for every 4 new games purchased. I'm sure someone will figure out some $1 item will be considered a "new game". :twoguns:

Can you imagine the outrage if Elite Pro gets discontinued on the 16th and regular pro keeps the discount until spring?

LOL that guy got banned I guess. What a jerk.

The rise and quick fall of cheapest. Was not sure it was him until I saw his post in the penny guide thread.

Blow my mind.

So many holes and missing info. Grats!

I do this all the time with the buy x for y sales if you cannot find full sets of 2/3/4. Get em with 99 cent games and it will discount the others like they were in batches of 2/3/4. i.e. 4 for 20 buy two 9.99 games and two 99 cent games and they will be 11.96 before pro/elite discount.
