If you don't already own Dredd this should be an obvious choice.

Very tempting to use for Rare Replay. That's like exactly a game that I want but don't want to pay for.

Did you not read the title of this thread?  The b1g1 is ONLY on $19.99 games, chief.

If you went back a thread you'd see he did. It appears you didn't read past the title though.

The screen capture says "not on planogram." It says nothing about $19.99 games. NOP games will be really any game that doesn't have a "designated spot" on the floor plan. Planogram's are the instructions for how the items in the aisle should be displayed and they are often pretty specific. If a game isn't listed on said planogram then it'd be one of these (if this memo makes any sense at all).

I actually almost got a job making those said planograms. That isn't relevant, just rambling.

Assuming the NOP part is correct, some good opportunities here. Especially with price matching if it works.

#12547007 Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked Permanent Price Drop - $30

Posted by BudzMcGee on 04 March 2015 - 06:31 PM

This seems like one of those too good to be true deals
Wonder how far from bankruptcy they are. Wouldn't want to be spending money on a club that will be gone next year

Not close at all really. They struggled like 2-3 years ago and rebounded pretty well actually after a lot of major changes. Amazingly, when the economy went bust people stopped buying TV's and that hurt them pretty bad for a bit. They now have a business model that involves a lot of third parties helping to reduce their overhead.

Gamers Club Unlocked has been the biggest joke to me on this site for the longest time now.  My BestBuy has been drastically downsizing its movie and games section for over a year and a half now.  They used to have a full aisle for each platform, and over a dozen full aisles of movies.  Now they've got about 1/3rd of an aisle dedicated to a particular system and the movies department has maybe four or five aisles.  It's impossible to find any movies there that aren't brand new releases, and even then, it has to be a blockbuster.

I talked to a guy there a couple years ago when I was looking for a Blu that they didn't have in stock and he said that BestBuy was about to start phasing out media because "everyone is buying their movies and games digitally now."  I didn't believe BestBuy would be that stupid, but apparently it seems like that's true.  "Turn on the Fun" is now "Turn on the...washing machine?"

I suspect anyone buying a GCU account now won't be able to use it in-store within six months, atleast at mine, unless they're buying a day-one $60 game.

Rant over.

I buy Blu Rays all the time but even I have to admit most people don't and there is a reason Best Buy has downsized that section in most stores (.com still has a great selection though and they constantly rotate older/cheaper titles through the stores). As for gaming, most of the stores around me have a solid selection and usually a full aisle per console (in some cases a little more).  The stores dedicate floor space to what sells. They could fill half the store with movies and games but they'd probably pay a hefty price for it. Great example, the Mall of America store seems to have a bit less space dedicated to TV's than most stores but has a huge phone and movie section compared to most. I imagine it is because mall shoppers are more likely to buy those items than a TV (this isn't a Best Buy a lot of locals go shopping at).

They make you beat it twice for the plat. It was just as bad the 2nd time if not worse cuz it was slightly harder. I even had to run through half of a 3rd playthrough just to grind out the oh shut up screamer trophy. uuuuugggggghhhhh

THIS is why I stopped being invested in achievements. Sometimes it is fun to go for achievements in games you really love but when I found myself playing shitty games, sometimes twice, just for a number next to my name...

#12364093 Walmart specially marked $5 vudu credits BR/DVD

Posted by BudzMcGee on 28 December 2014 - 01:01 AM

Dunno how it works since I don't do digital, but apparently if you use Walmart's Savings Catcher app and there are movies on there, it will automatically register any Vudu-eligible movies.

To my understanding you have to use the savings catcher and then make sure your vudu account is tied to it?  It's only for certain titles. Really curious how it works if you return a movie...

Anyway, was in a Walmart today and didn't see any new $5 vudu stickers on the triple packs like OP, mostly just the same ones that are on a bunch of TV shows right now. Did see some different orange sticker ones on some various movies I hadn't seen before though.

#12355491 Buy $150 in Best Buy e-Gift Cards and Get a $15 savings code

Posted by BudzMcGee on 24 December 2014 - 04:08 AM

they pretty much removed anything involving buying anything related to gift card with a gift card. they even made it where you can't use a gift card to buy a video game if it come with a gift card offer.

Yeah, this was then going a bit too far. I get preventing people from buying $150 giftcard with giftcards so people can't take advantage of stuff like this, but preventing me from spending $50 in giftcards to buy an item that comes with a $15 giftcard is just annoying as hell.

The Lake Street Kmart in Minneapolis is also dead.

I've always said that the Lake Street Kmart is where hope goes to die. Personally can't wait till that store is gone, the building can be plowed over and Nicolet isn't broken up by a shitty Kmart any more.

So not only was my order of three adjusted to $19.99 each, but they doubled up on my pre-order points. They added 665 points to my account. :-)

And I received pickup notices for four more in-store tomorrow.

I should start up a hashtag for unintentional hoarding.

Geez man. Not sure it qualifies as unintentional any more. lol

I am not a fan of the cassette tape cover AT ALL, rather get the one with all characters.

A shame BB doesn't have that cover for steelbook.

Funny, I really dislike the look of that group photo they're using for the standard cover. Just looks bad to me despite loving this movie completely.

Why is everyone hating on Last Crusade now? Sure, it's the weakest of the trilogy but I still find it fun to watch. Heck, at these prices I might end up picking up Crystal Skull too. Maybe.

Anyway, I've never actually partook in Black Friday festivities before, so this may be an awful thing to ask - do these prices happen online as well (Best Buy in particular)? I imagine if so, they're effective at the same start time while supplies last?

Temple of Doom is undoubtedly the weakest of the original trilogy. A prequel instead of a sequel that stars Spielberg's shrieking wife and a small Asian boy who is the worst archaeological assistant ever.
