[W] Some Help

[H] Paypal

Not sure if this is possible, but I could use the help of a friendly CAG in purchasing Mirror's Edge Catalyst (and possibly Battlefield 4) off of Origin. They're currently on sale for 4.99, but due to living overseas, Origin won't verify my payment method or let me contact customer service. If some helpful CAG out there could purchase them and gift them to me, I'd be happy to tip you. Let me know, and thanks!

EDIT: To clarify, the issues with processing payment through Origin are coming from living overseas from my home country.

Settled. Many thanks to all of you wonderful CAGS!

Have you tried clearing your browser cookies before enabling your VPN? It's worked for me the last few months purchasing through there.

I haven't, but my understanding is that the issue is due to your paypal address, which wouldn't be affected. Thanks for the suggestion, though!  :D

Buy it and don't play it for more than 2 hours.....request a refund if it is (which it wont be)

Excellent advice. The return policy has really made these sort of decisions much easier.

Though Drabe is right. There really isn't any chance that the Naruto games will appear as bonus unlocks. If they were gonna show up in this bundle at all, they would've been there from the start. And probably in a $15 (or higher) tier.

Damn. Well played. That is sound advice. This is exactly why I turn to you guys for advice; you're infinitely better at this than me. Thanks, guys!

Thanks Motiv, got Why so Evil.

Got White Noise Online.  Thanks!

Thanks for the +1.

Thanks to all of you for commenting. This has to be the first time I've seen every key in a drop get responded to! I'm glad to see keys going to actual community members rather than lurkers. Well done!

If it activates as this subid => https://steamdb.info/sub/29147/ which is probably the case, you won't be able to redeem it.

I know it is a bit misleading the nuuvem description, and I read also it was blocked for south asia (nuuvem version), so I'm almost sure this will be your case.

Thanks for the help!

If anyone won the WGN Edition of Insanity's Blade, it looks like keys will be added in the next week or two.

You noobs and your digital password storage are hilarious. All you need to do is create one long password and tape it to the underside of your keyboard.

If people know your password AND what websites to enter it into to steal your identity, then you have much bigger security holes than an unsalted encryption. Like locking your goddamn door, for example.

One step ahead of you. I took inspiration from all of those urban legends about how nobody that works at Google knows the entirety of their search algorithm: I created one long password and taped a quarter of it under each of 4 of my neighbors' keyboards with no explanation. Whenever I need to log in to a website, I break into each of their houses in sequence. None of them are sure which order the passwords go in, or really, what the hell they are. The safest AND most convenient of all possible solutions.

Also, they should probably start locking their goddamn doors.

Burn the file w/ all your passwords to a CD, DVD, another external hard drive, zip drive or something else...

That's how you guys remember passwords? Amateurs.

Kinda makes changing your password problematic, but far more permanent than your fancy digital methods.

At first I thought "Does he mean like poor AI/pathing that allows wolves to use ladders?  Or does he mean, as bad as actually hiding from a wolf in an attic and finding out it could climb ladders?"

Then I figured it was bad either way.  But I like the second one better.

When I first read it, I thought he meant "Stronghold 3 is as terrible at being a game as wolves are at climbing ladders". I have no idea why this seemed like the most logical explanation for that statement.

As much as my previous assumption has been corrected, I remain convinced that Motoki is some kind of authority on wolves, and their ladder-climbing skill, or lack-thereof.

u seriously played for card?  Try using Idle Master

So, I just started looking into this "Idle Master". Does it work well? I'd certainly rather use this than SAM to idle (I've never wanted to install SAM), but that's a low bar...

Does anyone have any experience with Idle Master that can give it a recommendation? Any negative things I should be aware of?

Nevermind. Just learned jshackles is behind this. That's all the verification I need. Sold.

Lol. Dammit. Watched that movie again just the other night. Found it weirdly analogous to being a CAG. The haggling scene is an obvious choice, but I keep thinking of this scene every time I complain about a bundle or steam sale (which is constantly)...

I am wavering on my never preorder from groupees rule. This silence is telling me it's either the best groupees ever or so bad they don't want anyone to guess the games.

Agreed. My first instinct continues to be, "I haven't seen Groupees offer anything good for a loooooong time".

.... But my second instinct is, "Doesn't that mean we're due?"

Well played, Groupees. Well played...

Hmmm... A small request for anybody who might be able to help. I'm interested in picking up the Sleeping Dogs definitive edition from the GMG sale. As I live in Korea for work, at the moment, the key that GMG will sell me restricts the game to only being played here (while the NA key can be played anywhere). I got burned before on this with Temple of Osiris.

Anyway, I was hoping I could talk one of you fine gents who's in a region that can pick up the ROW or NA key from them to pick it up and I'll send paypal (with a tip, if you'd like). If you're able to help, PM me!

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Thanks to spoderman for helping with this, and BobbyTastic, Steve05, and Neuro5i5 for offering to help. I'm leaving this message up, because damn am I impressed with this community. 4 people offering to help within 45 minutes is incredible. CAGs always look out for each other, and I continue to be impressed with the members of this site. Well done, guys.

What's you guys' opinion of the Alienware alpha? Or a Lenovo Y50?

Can't really comment on those in particular, but I can make some recommendations on gaming laptops/smaller form factors in general, if you're looking. Sadly, the nature of my work requires moving frequently and frequent travel, so something that moves quickly and easily (in carry-on luggage) is mandatory. I picked up a Clevo/Sager desktop replacement a year or so ago, and couldn't be happier. Most Falcon Northwest/Origin/Other boutique vendor's laptops are manufacturer-modified Clevos/Sagers. The power is plentiful, they're cheaper than Alienware or Asus, support dual-PSU setups, and the entire thing is user-serviceable (making repairs and admittedly expensive upgrades easier). Couldn't recommend them more. Xotic PC was the cheapest vendor I found, but there are plenty out there.

I know it's only tangentially related to what you asked, but when I was in the market for a laptop, I found it hard to get advice beyond "build a desktop instead". Hope it helps in some way (if not, maybe it'll help someone else). :)
