#14287501 PSN Weekly Deals - 7/22: Summer Sale! $21 Control, $20 Chocobo...

I have a question about Onrush...

So I already got it free with plus a few months ago, but I figured for 90% off, it might be worth buying just in case I let my subscription lapse... however, is Onrush an online only game? if so, does that mean you need PS+ to actually play the game, making buying the game worthless, or am I getting things confused somewhere?

Onrush is not online only, it has a good amount of single player content, but does need an online connection (not plus just the connection) to level up/earn XP for some the trophies ONLY: you can still progress through the campaign without internet.

You won't be able to buy it for real though if you claimed it  through PS Plus: stupid Sony.

Yes, China definitely needs to pay for what they've done in some way.

Hopefully people will start to wake up and realize that paying a few dollars more for stuff is worth it to not deal with a regime that has trampled over human rights for decades, is responsible for literally millions of deaths, and consistently has outbreaks of disease from their wet markets that have now caused terrible global health and economic externalities.

I hope since Trump wanted to renegotiate a lot of the trade deals with China he has the guts to hold them accountable.

A good start would be to tell them to shut their wet markets down, and if they don't comply, have increased sanctions limiting the amount of American business that can be done in China.

Maybe several companies (esp. those hardest hit w/supply issues) will finally start to realize that China isn't reliable with their constant disease outbreaks and will diversify away from China to other countries.

I think the US opening China to do business with the West under Nixon was one of our biggest mistakes, and the disease outbreaks are only one of many issues we have had and will likely continue to have, unfortunately.

#14280277 Final Fantasy Remake - Double 10 Dollar Rewards for Preorder?

Posted by Sindur on 11 April 2020 - 07:00 PM

Does anyone know if you will lose your reward certificates placed on a pre-order if that pre-order is canceled? For example, I pre-ordered Octopath Traveler (via a different payment method) before a release date was announced, then they delisted it for awhile, and put it back up months later. Just wondering if that happens with say, Bayonetta 3 if I'd lose my certificates permanently. I want to use them soon since they expire fast.

no, in fact preordering an item with certificates and then canceling the item is a way to get the certificates reissued to your account with a new expiration date if you can't bank the points to use them when you want.

Btw anyone know if the discount you get on one game after you cancel 2 with b2g1 depends on ur reason for cancellation? I’m guessing it’s the same regardless of what the cancellation reason is but it just makes me uncomfortable seeing a high price charge for a long time until the game finally ships or arrives

I'm pretty sure that's due to the fact that the order is still calculating tax on if you were still buying two and not just the one.

In my experience this always corrects itself when the item ships.

I'm not sure where you researched, but it doesn't really have any of that.  Ultimately if you enjoy fighting games like MK, you'll like 11.  More customization for specific characters (although I personally feel it too much/too limiting for fighters).  The online only, mtx and censorship are flat out wrong.

11 is probably the best MK as a whole but it does have mtx with the time crystals you can buy w/real money for a daily rotating selection of skins, etc, the female characters are less sexualized compared to 10 and esp. 9 (if you care about that), and most importantly you DO need a constant internet connection for everything except training and campaign.

I'm finally getting around to playing God of War Ascension via PSNow, and my god the Trial of Archimedes is one of the most cheap fucking experiences I've had in a game in a long time. Fuck this. What a dumb difficulty spike for literally no reason.

yep took me more hours to beat it on the highest difficulty than I'm willing to admit lol

i thought they patched it to make it a bit easier since, but apparently it's still very noticeable

I don't know...I just don't think I'll ever be able to wrap my head around dropping $60 (or more) at launch for a digital game.

For that much money I need the physical, tangible presence.

Games on sale, and smaller less expensive indie titles sure, but if/when gaming goes all digital I guess I'll finally be able to truly attack the backlog lol.

This is the real issue with assuming physical is superior in a preservation way. If a game requires a patch to work or a connection to the internet, it’s really no different.

I buy almost all of my games physical on multiple consoles, and I have yet to find an unpatched game that wasn't completely playable.

Requiring an internet connection for single player games or games with large single player components is of course completely different, and is something I will never support.

In  my opinion, there is never a good reason to require an internet connection for single player.

I just bought a PS4 on the Prime Day sale.  Shadow of the Colossus good for this price?  I have Spider Man and Horizon Zero Dawn already and a massive backlog on Xbox so I'm not sure if this is a low price or I should wait.

Also, if anyone has any other suggestions of games on the sale here that will play on PS4, they can be older I haven't had a PS since I shared a PSOne with my brother 20 years ago.  I'll play almost anything single-player and have very little interest in competitive MP games.  Otherwise, anything stand out here that would not play on Xbox?

Random off topic question, anyone have a tip to go full digital on games?  I gotta stop this physical collecting obsession I have and it's mad rough.  i'd love nothing more than to take all my 200+ PS4 games and hand them in for digital codes lol.  But the physical loving dipshit inside my head says don't do it.

HELP ME lmao

don't do it lol (just have better self-control and only buy games you are going to play immediately)

One thing we can all agree on, the last of us is probably the greatest game ever on a PlayStation console.

God of War says hi..both old and new...so probably not.

Old God of War games were just that 'games,' as opposed to the heavily prevalent walking simulator-esque sequences of the TLoU.

New God of War outclasses TLoU in pretty much every way, plus still has actual gameplay far more often than TLoU...GOW 2018 does TLoU style arguably better than TLoU

Btw, The Last of Us is a fucking fantastic game, but it's also overrated as Fuck.

So I've been playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider for the past few days after waiting forever to receive it from Target (I've documented my frustration plenty on this forum). It's a lot of fun and easily one of the most gorgeous games I've ever looked at. Anyway, I just realized I've run into a bug that will prevent the 100% Completionist trophy, and therefore, the Platinum Chalice. I've already made significant progress and have no intention of deleting my save data and starting from scratch (apparently the glitch is well known and also won't work in New Game+). This happened to me sometime between patches 1.03 and 1.04. Now I'm just plain depressed. But whatever, what else is new...

sorry to hear that, but I've heard the plat is best achieved with 2 playthroughs (1 on the easiest and 1 on the hardest), since the harder difficulties remove the ability to scan the environment for collectibles, etc.

so this glitch is on patch 1.03, and was fixed on 1.04?

I haven't gotten that far yet (still working on Spider-Man) so hopefully it doesn't happen to me

I preordered the TR Croft edition way back in April and picked it up day of release. No pending points for the $10 bonus yet. Is that normal?

no, it isn't normal since you preordered so early.

i have the same situation.

we'll probably have to contact BB on their forums after 20 days to get the $10 lol

Hey guys, I just got a PS4 this past week and was wondering how often the Uncharted games (Collection/4/Lost legacy) go on sale digitally. I’m coming from the Xbox side of the sales where store parser would tell me when a game has been on sale and what price it was at the time.

I was also wanting your recommendations on the earlier exclusives such as the latest Killzone and Infamous. Worth buying on physical or do they also go on sale digitally pretty frequently?
