Dave, you have my condolences. I know a guy whose wife left him after he lost his sight... you'd think one tragedy would have been enough for him, but I guess that's not how life works. Wishing you the best of luck.

Finally went to Sierra Vista to get my thrift on, and although I didn't have a lot of cash to spend, I was happy with what I took home.
The DVDs were three dollars each, the copy of Space Invaders Extreme for the PSP was four, the Bluetooth speaker was two (!), and the headphones were picked up from a Dollar General for five. Not shown is a screwdriver from the same DolGen, a copy of Super Baseball 2020 for the Super NES, and the film Pirates of Silicon Valley (three, five, and one dollar respectively).
The Saint Vincent De Paul served up some disappointment... there was a box full of PSP cases, but half of them didn't have games inside. This was especially heartbreaking as they had some choice cuts, including Sega Genesis Collection, Namco Museum Battle Collection, and Capcom Classics Reloaded. Frustrating.
Some stuff I intentionally passed on included Star Trek Tactical Assault for the PSP (the inner ring of the UMD was dirty and it had no case), Star Trek Encounters for the Playstation 2 (is this any good? I struggled with this before ultimately deciding not to take the risk), Disney Golf (although Donald throwing a spizfit over a bogey might have been fun), a Western Digital streaming television device, an antiquated portable word processor with a black and white screen, and no end of televisions, computer monitors, and Blu-Ray players. Gee, when did these get so cheap, anyway?
Oh yeah, and the Salvation Army had a handful of GameCube games. Ty 2: Bush Rescue, Ultimate Spider-Man, Soul Calibur II, Odama... it was a pretty healthy selection considering that the GameCube is getting more popular these days. Since they were seven dollars each, I passed. Also, Goodwill had way more store surplus at fixed prices than anyone in their right minds would ever want. Bluetooth speakers for fifteen dollars? I'll take my crappy blue speaker in the jam jar for two bucks, thank 'ya very much.
EDIT: That jam jar speaker is decidedly NOT crappy. Far and away superior to my last Bluetooth speaker, an iHip Cube that will be lucky to get used as a paperweight in the future.

Yeah... lack of mouse support sucked.
I spammed the attack button constantly since it destroys enemy projectiles and deflects the ball in a larger area than your body.
The people who made this game have been posting counterpoints to all the negative reviews on Steam, and I'm just rolling my eyes at the lengths they'll go to excuse its fundamental flaws. "We didn't want this to be another dull Arkanoid clone!" (So you made a crappy one instead?) "We wanted to make our characters move at an even speed so you could play it with a keyboard!" (Because a ball and paddle game works so well with those) And what pissy defense would be complete without "Git gud?" Hey, you first.

Best BC day in quite a while, was always strange having 2 of the 3 EDF games. is Sine Mora and Sine Mora EX the same game?
This breaks down the differences... two player co-op and English voice overs are the biggies. I thought the game was kind of blah myself, but it is the only shoot 'em up I can think of with... furry rape? :P

I kind of wish they would have just teamed up with Capcom to make a Street Fighter EX game. Then again, that's no guarantee that it would have shipped complete, as Street Fighter V proves.
But I'm babbling. What's the progress on one player modes? Last I checked, there wasn't so much an arcade mode as a kumite mode buried deep in the training options.

Went light on this sale... grabbed Mini Ninjas, Torchlight, and Xbox One Rayman Legends. Wanted to buy a few more things, but indecision and being broke put a stop to those plans. I waffled so much on Recore I feel like I should be drenched in syrup.
But yeah, regarding Mass Effect. 2 is the pinnacle of the series, easily. 3 is more of the same, but Electronic Arts deviated slightly from the cover fire gameplay, resulting in a less predictable, but also more flawed experience. Turns out you really need those waist high walls to survive against all those alien soldiers.

Wait, so the $2.49 contra isn’t an NES port? Thanks for saving me some money.
It's that cheesy arcade game with the better graphics but limited continues. Why someone thought "limited continues" made sense in a Contra game, and the arcade version at that, is anyone's guess.
Speaking of Konami games, it'd be neat if I could score a copy of Gyruss from this sale. I'm sure they cut the price at some point, although maybe not for this specific sale.
