#13932298 Are there any cheaper decent wireless controllers for Switch out there?

Posted by Woodlands on 24 January 2018 - 12:44 AM

I haven't synced up with my Switch yet, but I've been happy with 8bitdo's line of controllers.  There are a couple new ones that support Switch out of the box, and older models should sync with a firmware update.

No rumble or motion controls, but they're about the best 3rd-party controllers I've found.

I'm so busy that I hardly ever come to CAG anymore.  I had to turn my CAG-regular badge in, but if I post now at least I'm still a seasonal!  *whew.*

Comic strip anthologies from a very well-regarded author.  This one, I suspect, has a somewhat different customer base than, say, the Transformer bundle that ended today.  I suspect that plays some part in the rapid climb of the average.

Indeed.  $20 and change for a complete digital library of one of my all-time favorite comic strips--not only is it a no-brainer, it might be the most exciting Humble Bundle in a long time. It's definitely the best Humble Book Bundle we've seen.

The audience, however, is different than those scrapping for dirt-cheap games. Money's been too tight for me to pick up the $280 (retail) hardback editions of these books, but even with digital versions I might pick up the physical copies some day.  I'm happy to buy expensive reprints of Pogo or Calvin and Hobbes, but most people probably aren't.  Still, I'm sure twenty bucks is pretty appealing for a lot of people who would like to read these, but who wouldn't buy the expensive physical editions.

Comic strip enthusiasts are a pretty niche audience, even for Humble, but that makes me even more excited to see something like this!

What if there were as Steam Winter Sale and nobody noticed?

Seriously, it looks like my haul is going to be <$5 in assorted DLC.

Dark Void (which would also be an awesome name for a stripper) is $2 on GMG. No Capsule. Yes Steam. Is it worth that price? I've read it's meh.

SecuROM.

Is there anyone left who would actually use an Insurgency key? I'd rather give it to someone's backlog than to a key-farming bot.

All gone!  Enjoy!

... wait, you were serious about that? I thought you were just messing with me. Sometimes the discs or front covers are stamped with a "This is a promotional CD" message, too. My first CD purchases from eBay like ten years ago were promo items, I didn't know what they were at the time either.

This is also done with video games and movies. I've bought games and movies with slashed or punctured UPC codes, and I once sold a sealed copy of Final Fantasy VII which had a hole drilled through a corner. I now double check every music CD or DVD that I buy because it's a pain to find replacement inserts.

A local pharmacy (Rite-Aid) loves to sell these promo discs as new items for some dumb reason.

I didn't realize those were promo discs. I thought they were overstock. Like putting the black pen across the UPC of a book or on the edge of the pages: the publisher lets them go for a fraction of the cost, but expects retailers to sell for less than cover price.

The promo/review/advance copies I've seen are usually labeled as such.

Hole punch? In a CD? Wouldn't that ruin the disc?

Only if you actually play your CDs. Most of us backlog them.

The Ship.

The one game that's deader than Gun Monkeys.

The Ship is actually a really great game. I haven't played it in a while, but maybe this is a good time to start up again while there are newbies making it active.

Whoa! When did this become a thing? Just discovered it today.  I hope it's good...GK was one of my all-time favorite adventures games.

It became a thing on October 15, 2014.

The only people who like owning physical books are either light readers or people who haven't moved homes.

You're going to make me cry.

Just try to remember that books are a niche market.

Never mind, Not Eric beat you to it.
