#14406108 Limited Run Games Thread - Global Outbreak of...Delayed Shipping

Posted by SmileyMcSmiles on 26 June 2021 - 05:57 AM

I totally forgot about the Castlevania Anniversary Collection until I started reading this thread...glad I did!  I love the series!

In turn, while ordering, I noticed they are printing Zombies Ate My Neighbors/Ghoul Patrol...simply boggled my mind!

I haven't ordered from LRG since last year...never saw these coming.

And rumor is they are releasing RetroMania Wrestling!? If that's true, I will bury my current pants deep in the earth to contribute in preserving the DNA of the human race for future species to discover.

also in stock at target.com for shipping

Thanks for posting, I just noticed Target has some, but online only (no in-store pickup).  These seem to be the only two places that have stock, even Gamestop is sold out.

I know, I know...it's retail price.  But, this game is literally sold out everywhere (ebay copies are already climbing in price) and it seems NIS printed even less copies than Ys VIII.  So if you're a fan of the series and want a copy brand new, grab it while it lasts.

#14338857 The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III (PS4) $26.97 @ Amazon

The cheapest it's been I believe.  BBY has had it on clearance for $41.99 for months now.  Limit 2 per customer.

#14302439 Retro-Bit - SEGA Genesis 6-Button Arcade Pad $9.99 @ Best Buy

Cheapest I've seen these and they work for PC, Mac, PS3, and Switch...aside from the Genesis Mini. Limit of 3 per customer.

#14244268 Best Buy Deal of the Day Friday December 13th

Posted by SmileyMcSmiles on 13 December 2019 - 07:24 AM

Almost bit on Breakpoint, but decided to wait. I haven't seen a game's price tank this quickly in a while.  Too many issues, and too many promises from Ubi that have yet to be implemented (like AI teammates), and who knows what other problems will arise once they are implemented.

So I just went with  a couple copies of Modern Warfare. The game still needs some apparent gameplay balancing and spawn fixes, but at least it's playable with devs actively working on fixes, with many modes, and free content.

Besides, it's the best price we'll see for a while, especially before my GCU runs out. Came out to under $44 w/ tax for both copies with GCU and a $20 reward certificate.

Not too shabby.

#14244179 XBL Deals - 2019

That format factor looks completely idiotic, don't they know this thing goes into entertainment centers?  It's not as bad as a TiVo Bolt, but still, yuck.

It can be placed vertically or horizontally...with apparently lots of internal fan/air circulation. Looking good so far.

Quick question for anyone from LRG.

It was recently announced that both Star Wars: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy are being released for the PS4 and Switch. Though there's been no official word that these will be digital only, it appears that may be the case.

What would be the odds of you guys striking a deal to get physical releases for these two classics?

#14188561 TurboGrafx-16 Mini Retro Console (Amazon Exclusive : Pre-orders start July 15th)

Posted by SmileyMcSmiles on 13 July 2019 - 11:30 AM

Yeah, no.

And while they did at least include Blazing Lazers...there are sooooooo many state-side titles missing (Legendary Axe 1...and to a lesser extent...LA:2). But also, Keith Courage: In Alpha Zone, when this system was initially released!!!!

And again...where the HELL is Legendary Axe? Not to mention...Splatterhouse. And so many others!?

For me, it's a disappointment  And for the love of SHIT!!!  Apparently Konami has NOT learned the HARD lessons of SEGA.

Sorry guys...it's been a looooong time since I've vented.

I cannot stand the suits of today.

#14183642 FFVII Remake PS4 SE preorder $41.99 / deluxe $55.99 @ amz

Posted by SmileyMcSmiles on 29 June 2019 - 08:41 AM

If only I still had gcu. But then again I’ve been spending less on games since it ran out

My GCU lasts until summer next year, and in many ways, I'm looking forward to it expiring so I too can start spending way less on games. My backlog is quite obscene.

The madness has to ultimately come to an end.

This thing has so much potential.  Hopefully they don't Fuck it up.

You and me both man. I have fond memories of my TGFX-16...the initial  batch of games are mostly great so far. But, no one has even mentioned Legendary Axe, Keith Courage In Alpha Zone, Blazing Lazers!!!! We also need Devil's Crush, which is better than Alien Crush...Bloody Wolf (which was Capcom's Commando on steroids), Side Arms, Vigilante, Dragon Spirit, Forgotten Worlds, Ordyne, and the complete Bonk's series.

We can skip China Warrior, mainly because my friends laughed and made fun of me after I bought it and ran through it for a mere 10 minutes.  That game sucked.  I did return it to Babbages. I swear!

What I really hope is that Konami takes their emulation serious and doesn't half-ass it. I mean, look at what they did with one of their prized franchises in the Silent Hill Collection for PS3?

For me this is going to be a waiting game.

I don't know if this is a reprint by Warner Bros., but this is a great price even if you no longer have GCU....even better if you do!

Have at it!

#14142468 Best Buy Steelbooks

Posted by SmileyMcSmiles on 14 March 2019 - 04:31 AM

Not a BBY steelbook deal, but just wanted to mention that I received my order of RE2 steelbooks from  Amazon.de (Germany). Out of three, only one came with a slight, insignificant dent that's barely noticeable. The other two are in perfect condition.

Not bad for $7.55 EUR each (about $8.55 US).  All sealed in factory wrap. Here's a link for those interested.  Price has gone up a bit to $8.99 EUR ($10.18 US).

I see people posting that all the time on various forums. Everyone just needs to realize they aren't always going to get their free dollar for pretending they were going to ship something they always intended to pickup. ;)

I'm going to agree with this one.  I always had my orders shipped since forever, it was more convenient for me.  But I did start taking advantage of the $1 off store pickup incentive as of late.

While it was a nice perk, I actually found a more profound incentive in ordering online for store pickup.  I noticed that virtually all my PS4 games were NOT loose discs in the case. And in the only scenario where it was, I was able to quickly swap it out  right there and then.

So if the $1 off perk is over, I'm OK with it, and will still order online for store pickup.  Online to home delivery orders always results in PS4 games being loose disc cases at least 8/10 times.  Not to mention I get my games in-hand much quicker....and in much, MUCH, better condition.

Besides, some of the people at my BBY are pretty damn cool. :)
