#13912148 XBL Deals - 2017, Part II

Posted by Jess Stryker on 22 December 2017 - 04:18 PM

Will hold off on some of the iffy titles since we're looking at daily deals along with date night next week. That said, have a long list of maybes:

Easy 1k:

Black & White Bushido

Candleman

Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary

Jackbox Party Pack 4

Mr Pumpkin Adventure

Everything Else:

Dead Rising 4 Season Pass

Mafia III Season Pass

Witcher III Expansion Pass

Ruiner

Steamworld Dig

Super Cloudbuilt

Super Lucky's Tale (On sale often, has to be better than 30% eventually, right?)

Surf World Series (probably a pass, but seems decent and different enough)

Voodoo Vince Remastered (often 50% off, possibly wait)

Considering the Jackbox Trilogy. The games in 4 (aside from Fibbage 3) don’t look great. This is as low as the trilogy bundle has been, and the two pack of 1&2 has never gone below 50%.

I got to play some JPP 4 this past weekend on a friend's stream and we loved it. You have your traditional Fibbage, but the addition of the new mode puts it over the top. Everyone has to come up with truths for everyone else and then there's a mode of "one truth / one lie". Can get a bit personal, but that's what I love about it.

Civic Doodle is this game's drawing game. Weaker than drawful imo, but still fun as two people will be given a partial image and then compete for the better drawing. The final round is everyone having the same prompts, and you keep going off the winners until the round is over.

Monster Seeking Monster has some deeper strategy than what's typical of a jack box game. Every player has a secret power and the dating is done via texting the other players.

Survive The Internet is imo the hardest of the games to play as it's easy to get some lackluster rounds if people don't know how to play. But with the right timings can probably get some of the biggest laughs as well. A bit boom or bust overall.

Bracketeering is like March Madness. A bit weak with minimal players, but better with a full party. Weakest game in the bunch, but has it's moments.

What would happen if you threw out that entertainment center and got a nice stand that let you have a TV size you wanted?

The reason for the size restriction isn't necessarily because of the TV stand, but instead because of the way my room is set up.

From door to door is somewhere in the range of 32-34 inches, so you can see there isn't much room to work with.1511150244834358046779.jpg

@Jess I don't think either of those have "true" HDR" but outside of that are solid TVs. I would recommend looking into the TCL since It's cheaper and offers near same level colors and input lag but I could be wrong. I think the 43 inch TCL is only $255.

I don't have "true" HDR on my samsung from last year but the 4k picture and fake hdr was a big jump over my 720p TV as well.

TCL was one of the brands that got me first thinking about televisions thanks to their budget friendly price. Problem is, my entertainment center is only 32 inches across. Looking at specifications, I see the stand separation is 30 inches. If it's from outer end to outer end, it'd be close but could maybe with. If it's only from the inner sides of the base, it may be too tight.

Going to have to swim through the sales and see how much I'm going to buy. And to think I'm trying to make more room available on my hard drive. Damn.

I did see Life Is Strange Before the Storm though, so that's a definite at the very least.

There are a few things I want but on the fence if I should upgrade to the digital version of destiny 2. Haven't touched it in a couple weeks.

Does anyone recommend yooka laylee or is it as mediocre as it was made out to be? Saw that it's on clearance for $15 at one of my Targets.

If you're lucky, Yooka Laylee may be $8 if they forgot to mark it down. Picked it up at my Target for that price and saw it at another for the same price.

Ink looks intriguing, but otherwise a bust. Kind of glad I made my own date night today when I saw Yooka-Laylee on clearance at Target for $9.

Bummer switch games don't qualify as that's what I'm most looking for right now. Oh well.

So, do Red Card members still get our 5% off? Or do we have to pay the normal $80 price?

Red card works for everything in the store / online. Same with the employee discount.

I believe this is the first time for Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, right? Been meaning to pick that up. Otherwise, might have to look at infinite minigolf. Bloomy didn't Fuck up too badly this week. Good work.

It's a good week to be a Panthers fan, which is good, because last week was an awful week to be a Panthers fan.

When the Patriots lose, it's a good week to be a NFL fan. No matter who your team is.

This wet talk is driving me insane.

Spoiler

Such an underrated soundtrack. I'm pretty sure 4 out of 5 experts would agree she's a danger to herself and society.

You DO NOT want GW1. EA Killed the servers earlier this year. Unless you are only going to do bot matches, which I guess still can be done, but haven't tried it.

Dang, did not know EA killed GW1 servers.

According to EA themselves, Garden Warfare servers are still up so not sure what you guys are looking at. https://www.ea.com/s...ce-updates/2017
