#12292999 Ps4 + knack = $350 @ SAMs Club

Posted by Wolfpup on 02 December 2014 - 04:16 PM

I think knack is one of the only must have ps4 games, as far as exclusives it's the only good Sony title, beats infamous for sure

I haven't played Infamous 3 yet (just bought it though!) but Knack is really good.  Most of the reviews are really inane, criticizing things that apply to any game.  It's fun, it looks great, there's some real variety to it, plays well, and surprisingly the story is actually good too.

It's a shame people are jumping on the meme to attack it, because it really deserves respect and a sequel.  Ironically I'd be shocked if most people wouldn't prefer it to games that got super hyped up like Destiny and whatever that deathmatch mech game was.

#12151284 Origin On The House Free Game: Dragon Age: Origins

Posted by Wolfpup on 10 October 2014 - 02:32 PM

Yaaaaay, it's a game I already own two copies of.

And before you ask, they are in fact both for PC.

Umm...I just double checked, and actually I *also* already own two copies of this.  So now it's three...all on PC !

#12071009 The CAG Backlog Support Group.

Posted by Wolfpup on 06 September 2014 - 05:26 PM

Cool thread...

I actually made a list of my backlog quite a few years ago, and at that point it was over 100 games.  Since then though I've zero doubt it's...well, it's almost certainly over 500 games, could be over 1000.

Hell, just on my PSP I'm playing the second Lunar remake, and have I think 10-11 more games to go through until I'm caught up on it.  I've got like I think 50+ Vita cartridges now, none played.  Lots left on the last gen consoles.  (Oh, and 1 Wii game left...Galaxy 2)  And I have literally hundreds of unplayed PC games.

#12071002 New 3DS and New 3DSXL - New 3DSXL coming to North America Feb 13th, $199...

Posted by Wolfpup on 06 September 2014 - 05:23 PM

My first thought when I saw these is I can't believe Nintendo is this stupid.  Then I remembered that yes, they are just this stupid.

I guess really it's irrelevant...it'll just be (and SHOULD just be) like the DSi models that maybe had better designs but ran the exact same games.  So ultimately this doesn't matter...

But still...If they were going to go to all this trouble, they needed to ACTUALLY MAKE A NEW SYSTEM.  It's not like a new piece of hardware couldn't be backwards compatible.

Also kind of surprised they kept the "3D" in.  Seems like it would be a good time to drop it.

At any rate, this is further evidence that Nintendo desperately needs to get rid of that current president.  Not one thing he's done has seemed competent.

#11870525 Child of Light Vita Physical Version

Obviously, it was since it got moved here.

No, it should be in the deals section.

#11867356 Amazon Gold Box - Beyond, Skylanders SF, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Drakengard 3

Posted by Wolfpup on 24 June 2014 - 01:31 PM

How is it I know nothing about Drakengard despite it being around for over a decade?  I'm curious about what the heck it is.  Might buy if it's cheap enough.

#11864206 Child of Light Vita Physical Version

Posted by Wolfpup on 23 June 2014 - 01:53 PM

1) This is a deal.  If you don't like it, go away.  No one is forcing you to post here.

2) Like others, I want to know for sure if this is an actual game cartridge, and the U.S. WON'T have a game cartridge.  (Obviously I want to support the U.S. version if it exists!)

3) Are there region issues with Vita?  Like will a UK or asian version work on a U.S. version and hopefully support trophies?

4) Can we just order from Amazon UK?  I see it on there, and the price is good...  (Assuming IT is a cartridge for that matter).

#11856587 NEW- Origin Game Time. Play full games, for free. Titanfall will be free for...

Posted by Wolfpup on 20 June 2014 - 02:13 PM

I'd have to get the game for free before I'd bother downloading it, but this new feature does have one interesting aspect...

Apparently you can grab the game for a limited period, but then you don't actually start the 48 hour counter until you start the game, meaning if you have a slower connection-no problem.  If you have some block of time later on where you can really try it...no problem.

THAT'S actually cool.

Glad to hear that it sounds like Wombat gave a negative review of Titanfall.  I was SO sick of months of hearing about how it's the greatest thing ever, and if you don't like it then you're biased, blah blah blah, and it's like no, I have zero interest in deathmatch.  It sounds like an interesting deathmatch game, but I'd still sooner watch grass grow.

#11819129 Best of PlayStation Network Vol. 1 $9.99 @ Amazon

Posted by Wolfpup on 06 June 2014 - 02:34 PM

I was really excited to finally get to play Tokyo Jungle, but I found it SUPER hard and frustrating.  Oh well, it's just $10 to find out for yourself.

The rest of the games on there are garbage.

#11673030 Deadly Premonition 19.99 walmart ps3

Posted by Wolfpup on 07 April 2014 - 02:35 PM

What is this game? Never heard of it.

It's a survival horror game that's literally almost certainly the most polarizing game made last generation.  I think it's brilliant, and was easily one of my very favorite games last gen.  The characters and sense of place are amazing, and the way it works, the investigation is really awesome too.

I can't get worked up right now to explain, and would say do noooooot spoil anything for yourself.

#11666893 Knack 24.99 at Newegg

Posted by Wolfpup on 04 April 2014 - 01:38 PM

Can't believe people are actually bashing this.  It's a pretty awesome game.  Overwhelmingly, real people love it even though (most) critics bashed it for irrational reasons that would actually apply to nearly any game ever made

#11549695 Knack - What are your thoughts on the sony exclusive platformer

Posted by Wolfpup on 22 February 2014 - 05:32 PM

I just started Knack, and I'm REALLY liking it so far.  I have zero clue what's up with the mediocre reviews, unless it suddenly gets bad.

So far the graphics are awesome (it's scary how this can render something that looks like a big budget CG movie...in real time LOL)

The control's great.  The combat's varied/interesting/pretty great.  The story/world are actually interesting.

Only thing is so far it's getting hard fast.  I left it on normal 'cause there's a trophy for that (and a silver for hard) but geez, if you deal with the various different ways enemeies can attack, you get dead fast.

#11523209 Xbox One Zoo Tycoon $39.99 amazon.com

Posted by Wolfpup on 13 February 2014 - 02:20 PM

Girlfriend loves Zoo Tycoon so we bought this when it was still exclusive to Walmart. The game is stinking pile. To say the least. Even the gf hated it.

That's really a shame.  IGN gave it a bad review too (or a bad review on their 5=0 scale LOL).

This had the potential to be one of the most interesting early...well now current gen games :-/

#11449577 Lost Odyssey [Pre-owned] $9.99 @ BestBuy.com

Posted by Wolfpup on 16 January 2014 - 07:15 PM

Like others I've got to chime in and say "one of the Xbox's best exclusives".  A must buy if you like Sakaguchi's older games (i.e. Final Fantasy 1-10, Chrono Trigger).  It's EXACTLY like another Final Fantasy circa 6-10, which is a great thing.

I hate that it never got a sequel.  It's a full story, I don't feel ripped off or anything, but there's...room...in the story that they easily could have done a direct sequel.

Blue Dragon's got good gameplay, but the story's much worse.  His newest, The Last Story, was better than I'd feared, pretty good, but I didn't like the story half as much, and while functional, I vastly prefer an active time battle system type-system to The Last Story's action-rpg mechanics.

#11430370 Injustice Gods Among Us PS Vita, Lego Marvel Vita, Batman Arkham Origins Blac...

Posted by Wolfpup on 09 January 2014 - 03:15 PM

Yeah it's poop. I don't know why the developers decided to use the 3ds port for the vita version. The vita is perfectly capable of running the console version. Maybe with some graphical downgrades. There's no free roam. It uses an overhead camera. It has about half the amount of missions as the console version.

That's SO lame.  All things being more or less equal I'd buy a portable version, and Vita could totally do it.   :-/
