In Topic: Nintendo eShop Deals - 4/18: Kairosoft & LEGO Sales! $9 Escapist...

I was going to get it but the higher price plus shipping puts it way over my GCU price. Was going to get it, Phoenix Wright and Darius collection at the same time to combine shipping and make it more worth it but they would never have all three in stock at the same time. I ended up just getting Darius on eBay, buying Wright digital and buying ff from Best Buy.

I really want that Darius collection. Hopefully those jerks will bring it to the US, or at least put it up on the Japanese eShop.

But not on the vita. I had the x/x2 remaster on vita and x2 was it's own game. I was able to sell the code and it was usable without the cart, apparently it's different on the Switch. Which kinda sucks because I have no interest in X2 and had planned to sell it to lower my overall cost. I never would have bought it had I known it was different

They were probably separate on Vita since file space was a premium for both digital and physical on that system.

It is odd that FF X/X-2 comes with a code for X-2, but they don’t sell the games separately... what happens if someone who got a physical copy want to go digital for FF X... weird.

Blame Square Enix for going cheap in the US release. The Japanese version uses a larger capacity cartridge so both games fit, no download code needed. That’s why I think the code in the US version just entitles you to download the rest of the game data that doesn’t fit on the cart. But it’s all a guess unless we find a person that actually bought it.

I did too but was just wondering if Nintendo handles it differently

It’s not Nintendo deciding, it’s how the developers decide to code the games. Bayonetta is a separate code and it’s own game, so you can launch it independently from having Bayonetta 2 cart. However, Banner Saga 1-3 has a code for the 2nd & 3rd games, but requires you to have the cart in to launch them, so they aren’t independent apps. It all depends on what Squeenix decided to do.

My gut says you need the cart to launch either FFX/X-2, since it’s considered a combo game on the eShop Store. If you could buy them separately I would lean the other way. If you can find someone who actually played the Switch version then you would know.

does nintendo ever have flash sales?

I think I remember seeing random sales happen over a weekend, but for the most part sales tend to last for weekly increments, with no real rhyme or reason otherwise. Games will randomly pop up on sale any day of the week, and will stay on sale for the week (or two or three weeks).
